Description

The space

A house of many colors and cultures greets you as you enter this new home. Rent one or two bedrooms (queen or twins) for football games, graduations, parent's weekends or just for fun. A private full bath is just across the hall. Need a ride to your event? Just ask! We'll drop you off and pick you up to avoid the parking. $100/night (for one person) for either room. For each guest after the first one, $75 per night.

Although unassuming on the outside, the Casa is a trip around the world on the inside. Casa de Colores, is your window to primitive art and collections from China, Africa, the American Southwest, Mexico and the Middle East. The hostess is an engaging conversationalist, graphic designer and writer who can enlighten you with tales of days gone by and history lessons in Aggieland.

Guest access

Make yourselves at home! Inviting covered patio with a view of the sunset across a green pasture with comfy seating and a chiminea for roasting marshmallows. There is also a gas grill for a cookout. The kitchen, dining room, and living rooms are yours!

Interaction with guests

I love to tell about our Aggie family history or about my world travels. But I can be very scarce if you need some solitude.

The neighborhood

My neighborhood is very quiet, very safe, and very friendly. There is a neighborhood pool and play scape.

Getting around

Parking is included. Just a fast 20 minutes to campus but a pleasant 20 minutes away from all the congestion of campus. Best of both worlds!

I grew up in College Station, attended Texas A&M (Class of '71) and moved back in 2004. I am interested in the history of Brazos Valley and work actively to preserve it. I am a Sr. Graphic Designer for Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). I serve on the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Board of Directors. You can see some of my historical panels at Veterans Park (3101 Harvey Rd.) on the Lynn Stuart Pathway. This park is one of a kind and the pathway is a study in US military history. I designed the 22 historical interpretive panels that are all along the 1/2 mile path. Recently, 12 more of my historical interpretive panels were installed at the Boonville Heritage Park (near Hwy. 6 and Boonville Cemetery). I look forward to sharing some of the wonderful history of the area with you.

The covered patio has comfy seating and a chiminea for roasting marshmallows. There is also a gas grill for a cookout.

Most of the guests at Casa de Colores say the house is very conducive to relaxing and sleeping. So bring a travel alarm just in case! They also say it's a museum! I like that! Each piece has a story. Just ask and I will tell!
