About This Listing
Looking for an affordable way to enjoy an extended stay in Austin without living in your car? This friendly flat is fully furnished, functional and fun for far less than freviously fought fossible. :/ Onward: thru the fog!
This is a subsection of my house that is completely independent with a full bedroom, full bathroom and mini-kitchen/living/dining room. You have your own balcony/deck, entrance and climate controls. The whole space is 300sqft but very functional and includes a queen-size bed.
The location is extremely convenient being in 78704 just off the South Congress (SoCo) strip where you'll find all sorts of food, drinks, music, shopping and people watching. If you're more into the mother natures there is a university at the end of the block with plenty of outdoor space, a running track and views of the city... there is also a nature preserve in the neighborhood and a great park with a free public pool just down the street. A 24 hour grocery store and 4+ bank ATMs are all a block away as well as the main bus line, Car2Go, taxis, bike share and safe biking routes.
This space is great for a visit to austin or a transitional space for a month or more. It's fully furnished so you only need to bring some clothes and toys. Depending on the situation, I have a bike or two I can lend you to get around as that's how I travel around Austin 90% of the time and highly encourage you to indulge in this activity.
Private balcony with table and chairs, gas grill and front porch. There is a laundromat just across the street next to the 24 hour grocery store and a bunch of banks, knock out all your errands at once!
Interaction with Guests
I can answer your questions about Austin, I've been here since 2000 and put lots of time into tracking down fun activities, good food and nice people.
Extremely convenient without all the parking issues and noise of other areas.
Bus stops right down the street, B-cycle rental stations, car2go, lyft/uber, bikes, walkable, taxis, etc... you won't have trouble getting around.
Other Things to Note
The mandatory 15% city hotel tax is included in the price for all reservations under 30 days.

The apartment was clean and exactly as described. Garret did a great job of communicating with us before our arrival and even though he was out of town, he made us feel welcome and even left a couple of beers in the fridge for us to enjoy. We knew he was only a phone call away if we needed anything. We appreciated the recommendations he gave us, especially the local mexican restaurant with their famous avocado margaritas. Garret was definitely a great host and I would recommend his place to anyone going to Austin.
Great place! Property was exactly as described: cute, cozy, convenient, and clean. Very comfy bed and well-appointed apartment. Just perfect for our stay!
Perfect and quiet location ! Close to South Congress and all his conveniences ( Bus Stop, HEB, Pharmacy ... ) ! I stayed a month in the Treehouse and Garret was a great host ! It was clean and this place is peaceful !! I highly recommend for a stay in Austin . Thanks Garret !!
Simple place, with a kitchenette. Right off the bus stop, so getting to the heart of downtown is a breeze. Great for SXSW.
I just returned from a three night stay at Garret's treehouse. The place was very clean and welcoming. He even left a couple of beers in the fridge for our first night. All of Garret's recommendations for nearby food were fantastic - definitely check out the avocado margaritas at Curra's Grill.
The location was perfect and exactly what we were looking for and for a great price. The place was small yet adorable. It has everything you could need for a couple of nights in Austin. I have no complaints!
Garret was a great host. He answered all the questions I had before the stay and the check-in was easy. He also gave me a good tour of the apartment and made sure I had everything I needed. The place is set up, well, clean, and had everything I needed. There is also a decent sized patio that I took advantage of. The wifi is very fast as well.
We stayed in the Treehouse for three weeks and had the greatest time! Garret was so welcoming and provided us with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, from information about the neighborhood and local activities to a local wine and fresh herbs for us to enjoy. The apartment was a great clean space that had every amenity that you could need. The location, right off SoCo, was amazing - a five to ten minute walk away from a local artisan grocery store, supermarket, laundromat, pharmacy, bank, pool, and restaurants. It's a nice laid-back community conveniently located close to Austin hotspots. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a place to stay in Austin. We'd go back in a heartbeat.
