Fantastic master bedroom in NYC. Close to Columbia Pres Hospital / Columbia University. Great for travelers / researchers / professors coming to visit either NYC or the University.
This is a great, sunny, lovely large 1 master bedroom in NYC (shared space) near Columbia University. Great for travelers, students, professors in town for a conference and etc.
The apartment is sunny and large, a great find for Manhattan. The apartment features 1.5 bedrooms, you will have the master bedroom, with full access to a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. It is located on the 2th floor of 1920’s building.
The ENTIRE Apt is available for rent and it is listed separately. When only booking the master bedroom (which is this listing), I will be in the apt and it will be a SHARED space.
I am an art dealer / brand consultant / photojournalist / writer. I am on the road frequently (mostly international travel) and when I am away, the entire apt is available. When I am here, the master bedroom is available. I love being on the road and it makes me happy to share my home with other travelers --- meeting people and hearing your stories is one of my favorite things. I look forward to hosting you.

I am a frequent traveler and am often on the road for work. When I am in the city, I am usually out --- you won't see much of me sadly.
Located in Manhattan in an area known as Washington Heights, it is north of Harlem and South of Inwood. Washington Heights is one of the hidden gems of Manhattan. There is a variety of cafes, restaurants and grocers located within walking distance. The neighborhood is safe, friendly and lively. Columbian Presbyterian hospital is near by so there is a lot of doctors, researchers and young professionals in the neighborhood. Columbia University is only 2 stops away on the express train. Mixed with the Dominican population in the neighborhood, it is a colorful, energetic place, viberant without it being overly commercial. The apartment is centrally located between 2 subway lines which makes getting nearly anywhere in Manhattan easy.
•5 minute walk A,C,1 Train line
• 2 stops on the A train to Columbia University
•3 stops on the A train to Columbus Circle (15 mins)
•Close to Fort Tyron park and The Cloisters (part of the Metropolitan Museum, a hidden gem many miss)
•20-30 min Train ride nearly everywhere else in Manhattan
•Easy to get to JFK / LGA airports

Charlie's place is perfect with a large room (excellent bed) and all the facilities in the flat. I stayed there one month. The place is comfortable and very clean. The location is ok and close to metro to get downtown. If you had to work like me for a short period in Columbia Med School or New Presbyterian Hospital it is the place to be. Charlie is a nice person and easy to live. This was my first experience of airbnb and I will do it again.
Charlie is a great person and hostess. The stay was very warm, the place is very comfortable, and we had the help we need. The apartment is very close to the subway line and buses from there to Manhattan are 20 min. Thanks Charlie, when we return to ny we will stay again.
we had a great time and enjoyed new york from charlie's bnb. charlie was very accommodating and the room was massive and very clean. unlike some bnbs we have been too in the past, very homey
My friend and I had a wonderful time staying at Charlie's Master bedroom! Let me list some awesomeness below:
- convenient location, which is very easy to get to anywhere with the express train right down the street.
- spacious room and charming apartment overall.
- it is easy to grab food around. Supermarket around the corner. Bank, liqore store, Startbucks, or anything you need.
- Charlie is very easy-going and accommodating. I wish we could spend more time to chat and share.
- the price is very fair and you can beat that!!
I highly recommend this Apt! Thank you again Charlie!
Charlie's place was very clean and stylish. During our staying she was not in town but she prepared really well for us to get in and check out. Good location closed to the subway. Thanks Charlie!
Charlie was a wonderful host, and we had an excellent stay at her apartment (we were there for a conference at Columbia University and a short visit to the city). The bed was comfortable and the room spacious, with many places to put down luggage and clothes as well as nice table for work or miscellaneous items. As other guests have mentioned, the apartment is very close to major transportation stops, and it was convenient to walk to the subway station at 168th, less than two blocks away. Although there was some traffic noise from the windows, we generally slept well. Charlie was really flexible with our daily coming and going, and was a friendly, down-to-earth person. Thanks so much!
Charlie's place was perfect for a visit to Columbia University and the city. She was very hospitable and flexible even when I underestimated the traffic near the airport. The location is great and walk-able, even in the evenings as a single woman. There's lot of food around and easy access to transportation that takes you directly to Downtown, Brooklyn, you name it.
Charlie was very hospitable and open - willing to share thoughts, suggestions, and ready to meet new people.
I had a great stay at Charlie's place. She's nice and friendly, very easy to deal with and flexible when it comes to solve problems and deal with misunderstandings.
The apt is situated in a lively and safe area, a quick ride to midtown with the A express train just three blocks away.
Master Bedroom is bright and spacious, with plenty of closet space and shelves. Bedroom itself is confortable and I didn't have any problem sleeping, ex-newyorker here, but bring your earplugs.
Overall I had a great experience :)
The reservation was canceled 22 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Charlie is very accessible, flexible at times, leaving part of her apartment available (including access to the kitchen and fridge), she lives relatively close to the metro which is very convenient. We would have liked to know more but we have not truly had the opportunity to talk to hem. The area is correct. In short, nothing to complain ;)
