GIANICOLO SUITE: Charm and Privacy in the Heart of Rome
Gianicolo Suite is an elegant B&B placed in “Monteverde Vecchio”, a very well known residential district of Rome. A spot a few steps away from Gianicolo's panorama, St, Peter Church and the Vatican Meseum, Villa Doria Pamphilj's Park and picturesque Trastevere with its nightlife.
The suite consists of a bedroom with double bed, private balcony, TV and wireless service. A single bed can be added upon request.
Breakfast is “Italian style”, with croissants, biscuits, ecological honey and jams, tea, coffee, milk and fruit juices.
Luigi and Maria Pia, and their sweet and affectionate dog Black, will welcome you to this friendly atmosphere. If you have any problems with dogs, Black has no problem moving elsewhere during the days of your stay.
From our Gianicolo Suite, you are a few minutes walking distance to many beautiful sights: the Gianicolo, the catacombs of St. Pancras, St. Peter in bonds, Trastevere... St. Peter's and the Vatican can be reached by bus in about ten minutes, the city center in about 20 minutes.
If you are a jogger, just crossing the street you can use the large and beautiful park of Villa Pamphili.
For the greedy, in the square where Gianicolo Suite is located, there is one of the best ice cream in Rome.
Finally, for lovers of "alternative shopping", every Sunday morning, in the neighboring district of Trastevere, there is Porta Portese, the oldest and largest "flea market" in Rome.
The charm of Monteverde Vecchio, the proximity to the city center, the nightlife in Trastevere and the quiet and privacy of your suite will make your stay in Rome unforgettable.

Luigi and Maria are very nice, accommodating and easy to communicate with. Their place is exactly as shown, big and clean rooms with a spacious bathroom. Maria served a very nice breakfast every morning and we were able to walk to site see around the city. Thank you!
Luigi & Maria were super nice hosts. And I love the cute dog named Nero. I spent a brilliant moment at the beautiful home. The room is very clean and spacious. I would highly recommend this to anyone stoping by Rome.
I spent a very pleasant 4 days this September with Luigi and Maria Pia. The Gianicolo suite is beautiful and better than described. My room was comfortable and well maintained. Luigi and Maria Pia went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Luigi went out of his way to help me find the location when my taxi driver was confused. I received several great recommendations for local restaurants and facilities. The breakfast on the patio every day was a very welcome start to the day. I recommend the Gianicolo suite to all. I was not familiar with the Trastavere neighborhood before this trip. I found it a very good place to stay with few tourists and within easy walking and bus rides form all the Roman sights.
Grazie mille a Maria et Luigi! It was a perfect stay in Roma with lovely hosts and a very nice place to stay in. Highly recommendable!
Luigi and Maria were great hosts. They made us very welcome and helped with any questions we had. We had home made breakfast on the balcony each morning which was delicious. Their son gave us a ride to the airport for much cheaper than what a taxi would cost which was very kind. Highly recommend.
Luigi and Maria hosted my husband and I for a three night stay in Rome. They are exquisitely-warm hosts who are caring, hospitable, and thoughtful. Each morning, Maria prepared a wonderful breakfast that consisted of fresh fruit, whole grain bread, yogurt, coffee/tea, and best, warm, croissants we had while in Italy. Her husband Luigi speaks very good English, is very helpful with any details related to traveling/seeing Rome, and has a charming, kind sense of humor. Their apartment is elegant and has French doors that separate the living room, the kitchen, and the portion of the BnB where guests stay. If they were in the home, to make breakfast for example, these doors were often shut, which allowed us to maintain our privacy and enjoy our stay. The AC in their home worked very well, there was ample room and storage for our things, and we had a beautiful bathroom to ourselves. Finally, the BnB is is easily accessible by major bus lines or within walking proximity of the Trasvestere. In addition to being relatively close, we found walking at night in this area to be extremely safe, and peaceful. Finally, it is also close to spectacular views of the entire city and enjoyable walks into the city by Ponte Amadeo and Sisto. As for customer service, Luigi and Maria are generous and thoughtful. Maria woke up at 5 am on the morning we left to make us breakfast, although we did not expect her to since we had to leave by 6:30. They also arranged for their son to take us to the airport at a significantly cheaper rate than local taxis would have charged us. Considering the accessability of the location with the quality of stay and service, we highly recommend Luigi and Maria’s BnB in Rome. Thanks, Luigi and Maria, for everything.

About the Host, LUIGI And MARIA PIA
We are a couple formed by a Florentine (Luigi) and a Roman (Maria Pia). Luigi is a writer and a film director, Maria Pia a biologist. We chose to live in Monteverde because it is a historic district of Rome, full of humanity and at the same time quiet and reserved. If you will come to visit us, we will help you to know that Rome less known to tourists but more real and fascinating.
