About this listing

The space

Welcome in Haarlem! We have FREE parking, FREE breakfast and everything to offer you a great time in our house.

We have a wonderful wing in our house for rent with private bathroom, bedroom and library/breakfast room (with WIFI), it's at the top flour of a renovated 1885 villa in the centre of Haarlem opposite of the Houtpark (the biggest park of Haarlem). The room has a magnificant view on "the griffietuin", once the backgarden of Napoleon.

If you come with children we can place a mattress in the breakfast room and provide toys (no additional costs). We have teenage daughters so experienced babysit available, while you go out to one of the nearby restaurants. Parking is possible on our property. In the morning you will get a fresh egg from our own free range chickens!

Our house is very close to public transport and a lot of nice restaurants, Haarlem's main tourist attractions (Frans Hals museum, Teyler's museum, and Grote markt with all the shops) are in walking distance.

The library/breakfast room has:
Nespresso machine, water boiler and small fridge.

Hope to see you soon, Swinda

Host family was very nice and helpful and room was exactly like in the description. Bed was also very comfortable and location in Haarlem is good. Amsterdam is not far and easily accessible by train (15 min) or bus (40 min).To sum up I have nothing to complain and would definitely recommend this place for a stay in Haarlem.

Swinda and her husband were both really lovely and accommodating. They made me feel right at home. I had a lovely time and would definitely return. Below are some specifics: LOCATION: Terrific. A five minute walk from the southern tip of the city center but also right on a great park - so it's the best of both worlds, quiet and pastoral but also really central. THE SPACE: Gorgeous, looks even better than in the photos! Ceilings are really high and the windows are huge. The place in newly renovated and decorated in the best taste. The bathroom is very modern with floor heating! The "Breakfast Nook" is actually an additional room with a sink, mini fridge, coffee machine and microwave. I used it as an office, and having an extra room made all the difference in the world. The entrance to the space is through the main house, but since every part of the house is separated by designated doors it doesn't feel like you're intruding on someone's life. AMMENITIES: B&B is a bit misleading. Basically Swinda will stocked the "Breakfast nook" with some basic food items before I arrived, but it wasn't restocked during my 8 day stay - so I pretty much bought my own groceries for the most part. This was NOT a big drawback for me at all, just full disclosure here... I would return without hesitation!

The private room is in one of the best locations in Haarlem. In addition to the large windows with garden views, you enjoy a private breakfast room with a rich library, Nespresso machine and a nicely field frigo. Swinda and the family are open and sophisticated family, that welcomed me and assisted me much.

Swinda's house is really well placed, walking distance to the Haarlem Centrum and the start of the best shopping street that goes into Centrum. The Wing is spacious and well equipped. The room is big and a great view on a park, and it's reasonably clean. I'll loved the eating room/library, especially the Nespresso machine. Swinda and her family are a wonderful host, they provided anything I need. I'd definitely stay there again If given the opportunity. Thank you Swinda.

Swinda's charming house on the edge of the bustling town center is a marvelous place to experience Haarlem. Having a large comfortable bedroom, private bath, and separate sitting room/library with coffee maker was really wonderful. Although I met Swinda only once, her family is wonderful and her two teenage daughters...wow! Very mature and respectful, and they served me a breakfast tray at the head of the stairs each morning. How many teenagers would do that before heading off to school? In the room are excellent suggestions/brochures/maps to help guide you. It was indeed a pleasure to spend four nights here and I would most definitely recommend Swinda's airbnb place on your visit to Haarlem/Amsterdam.
