The space
I rent a beautiful stone house, original decoration of the 60s, but everything is back to the standards in force (electricity, heating, toilet), so : comfort assured, located on the heights of Brive.
Three bedrooms (including two connecting bedrooms, ideal for a family) can accommodate 6 people ; a well-equipped kitchen (missing only the dishwasher) overlooks the living room. The bathroom has a bathtub with shower and two sinks, the toilets are separate and very recent.
The living space is located on the first floor, above a garage and a small apartment (separate entrance), occasionally occupied by the owner or his family. The view of Brive is breathtaking ; a large balcony walking around the house invites you to enjoy a drink with friends.
The house is located in a cul-de-sac and shares the small street with only 5 other houses ; car parks are arranged and allow the parking of 3 vehicles directly in front. A pleasant garden of 300m2 surrounds the house on 3 sides.
At night, we appreciate the almost absolute calm that reigns on the heights of Brive ; sleeping the open window is possible even for people sensitive to noise ! And it's only around 9am that the baker's horn, which serves this neighborhood with his van, will wake you up….
On foot you are about 15 minutes from the city center, by car, 4 minutes is enough. Large parking spaces are available at the gates of the Old Town, which should be discovered on foot. The century-old buildings around the Collegiate Church are full of architectural details, with interesting shops, restaurants and cultural venues. And every week, on Saturdays, the famous Brive Market, which inspired Georges Brassens to his song.
Brive is known for several annual events, including the Book Fair (the weekend after November 1), which is the most important. But let us not forget cattle fairs (the breed of cow ‘Limousine’ is known by specialists) and musical events, such as the Vézère festival, much appreciated by music lovers seeking the intimacy of the concert venue and direct contact with renowned artists.
The surroundings of Brive are beautiful in all seasons. The proximity of prestigious places such as Lascaux, Collonges, Turenne, Uzerche, the Dordogne Valley and the Massif Central allow a wide range of excursions. And even when it's very hot in summer (let's not forget, Brive is nicknamed the 'laughing south gate’), you'll find lakes and rivers for swimming away from the crowds of ocean beaches.

I love nature, I do windsurfing and I like sailing regattas! A former biologist who saw (almost) the world. I love music and beautiful arts. And I try to live on a sustainable basis... with the vegetables from my garden and homemade jams. Recently, I have also been producing my organic wine.

I like to eat well and of course (organic and homegrown vegetables), I think I am a good cook, and I like to travel (I have seen half the world).
