We loved our stay at the Brooklyn Waverly one bedroom with Sahr Ali and her son! It was the perfect location for enjoying New York and Brooklyn, and a lovely, clean, well-equipped space to come back to after a tiring day out & about. We're traveling with our 13 month old son (and teenage daughter) and this was a great baby friendly space. Sahr was available to help with any inquiries (and managed to arrange a baby carseat for us, saving us $75 in hire fees) . As well as fresh lemonade and cupcakes when we arrived, the fridge was well-stocked with yoghurt, milk, bread, etc so we could have breakfast at home. The place really worked as a one bedroom apartment - with our own little kitchenette and a half bathroom on our level and a full bathroom up the stairs. We also had access to the backyard, and sometimes had our breakfast at the table out there. The neighborhood was lovely - supermarket, laundromat, great restaurants, subway, yoga studio all within easy walking distance. And the Brooklyn flea market on Saturdays was just a couple of blocks away. Thanks Sahr for your kindness & hospitality!
We stayed in Ali's place for a week while in DC on a business trip. We were pleased with the convenient neighborhood, nice space, and wonderful hospitality! We will definitely stay there again.
I stayed here for a week and the place was great. Clean and i got mini cupcakes and juice on arrival! Location was awesome also as it was minutes from the metro and a short walk to Fort Greene and Atlantic Ave.
We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Ali’s place. Although we looked quickly at the reviews, which were all great, our goal was to be at a place close to our son who had been injured in an accident and was released from the Hospital to further recuperate at his apartment. Proximity was the primary goal.
Ali’s physical place was everything all have said before, spotless, well cared for and just right; nevertheless, it was Ali, herself who made a significant difference for us. Known for her greeting goodies, she changed that upon learning my dietary limitations. She expressed care and understanding for our circumstances and helped us as a friend though a difficult period. She made suggestions for local assistance from drive services, to food services, to dealing with the police to get the accident report. To us (way older) she was a mother, a helper and guide. Careful not to be intrusive, she made sure that we were ok and offered helpful suggestions about how to deal with our son’s recuperation.
Ali’s Place was for us a home away from home and she was generous and giving. Great place, great host. It doesn’t get any better than this!
The room is comfortable and spacious. Sahr is a delightful lady. She provided us with delicious, home-made cookies and made us very welcome. We would stay there again without hesitation.
Ali is a charming host and made our first NYC experience very pleasant from the drinks in our room when we arrived to the provisions for our first breakfast. We especially enjoyed having the garden area where we could sit at a table with a glass of wine after a busy day. Thanks for your restuarant tips too Ali
After a tiring drive from Toronto, my daughter and son-in-law and myself were welcomed to the Waverly by Ali with some lemonade & cookies, then directed to a fantastic bistro for a late meal.
The apartment was clean, cool, and comfortable. As mentioned by others, lots of nice touches - fruit bowl, well stocked mini fridge (juice, milk, water, eggs etc.). Great neighbourhood to explore & perfect for coffee addicts such as myself. A parking spot opened up in front of the Waverly just as we arrived and my car sat untouched and unticketed for 4 nights/5 days. The subway was a short stroll away.
Ali was never intrusive but made sure we were happy with everything and was always helpful and genuine.
It made our visit to New York go so smoothly...thanks Ali!
Our stay with Sahr in her charming one bedroom was just that--charming! It was also comfortable, cool (in temperature), convenient and quiet.
Sahr was a gracious, thoughtful and a very hospitable hostess that went the extra mile to ensure that our stay was pleasurable. The location was very convenient and met our needs; there was an abundance of parking spots steps away from her front door.
We would recommend this Charming one bedroom studio to anyone considering it!
The place is simply wonderful - the apartment is spacious, nicely decorated, and include a small kitchen area for convenience. Our host, Sahr, has obviously taken great pains to make guests comfortable in the apartment by making the apartment spick and span. It smelled really great as well. We were greeted with a large bowl of fresh cherries and a well-stocked refrigerator with eggs and juices upon check-in. Sahr also gave us great advice and suggestions regarding the activities around our neighbourhood. We had a truly great time staying here and look forward to returning soon.
Our host was very warm and welcoming. It is a very neat and comfortable room. One of the main benefits was that it was a downstairs room that remained cool and you did not have to climb numerous stairs to access the room. The subway into Manhattan was only two blocks away and was a direct line into the city.
