What a delightful warm welcome from our hosts. The resort is beautiful, we were impressed by all the little touches, our room was very comfortable and super spacious. The Thai food supper was some of the best Thai food we have been lucky enough to eat. We would highly recommend the dinner at the hideaway. The breakfast was a delicious surprise and happily received. The hosts are epic, even kind enough to drive us to the delicious David's kitchen, which is also a must visit. The secret cafe has a simple yet yummy menu, also on-site for convenience. We will be coming back when the swimming pool is finished!!!
She's the best! My boyfriend and I brought his parents to the hideaway while they were visiting from overseas, and we LOVED it. The ambiance, friendliness, gorgeous settings, stunning homes and healthy, home cooked meals made the trip feel like a home away from home. It was my BFs birthday, and Ja even baked a cake and helped us to celebrate.
Its slightly out of the city, but we rented a car (1,000 baht daily) and found the location perfect - equidistant to the city centre and doi suthep and the mountains. I wouldnt bother staying in the city - youll be dealing with tourists and traffic. Staying at the hideaway gives you easy access to main points of attraction, but a sanctuary of peace and relaxation. I cant wait to go back :)
Hi, It was great to meet you all too! We really enjoyed having you stay at our place. We are really sorry that we hadn't realised, our review time has run out and didn't managed to put our review for you in! We are so happy to hear how much you loved it here and we hope we will see you both again soon! Take care xxx
it was a nice experience stay in yellow house, so different from the down town, and the dogs are really cute and friendly, also On and Paul are really nice and cute, hope can see you guys again!
Staying at the Yellow house has been one of the best experiences so far in AirBnB. Paul and Ja (spelling?) were great hosts. The place is so comfortable. And the food, wow, spectacular. It is a bit out of town, but it compensates with the wonderful setting and the graciousness of the hosts.
They also run The Secret Cafe, across from the place and in Old Town. Guests need to have a meal/desert there. It is wonderful. And the dinner they offer at the end of a long day is out of this world.
Also, Paul arranged form my daughter and I to have a day at the Patara Elephant Farm and made my decision to experience it very easy. Great knowledge of the local places. I loved my stay. Wish I could have extended it ...
the most amazimg experience during journay! Me and parents had great time here. We enjoy the natural atmosphere, beautiful view, unique style of the whole place, good service and nice food. The staff there are really thoughtful. I just cant describe how wonderful this place is! We'll definitely come again next time.
We have just come back from a fabulous trip to Thailand which was topped off wonderfully with our stay at Ruang Tawan Hideaway. Ja and Paul are truly wonderful hosts and their property is what can only be described as a haven hidden away on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. On arrival we were greeted by Paul, who was really helpful, laid back and made us feel instantly at home. Both he and his wife helped with trips we wanted to do and organised drivers/taxis whenever we needed them. Our accommodation was beautiful and unique, with an inside/outside bathroom which was private but you could hear the birds singing in the trees whilst taking a shower.
The main house was our favourite part of the stay as it was a hub of eclectic furniture, art and with no walls you enjoyed the beautiful scenery while lazing the day/evening away.. the music that was playing at all times only added to the relaxed environment.
There were a lot of reviews about Ja's amazing home made pastries that were served at breakfast and we were not disappointed.. there was also homemade granola! What a way to start the day. Everyone that worked there were so helpful and always there to make sure we had what we needed (and always with a smile) The evening meals were a true taste of Thailand and we could have eaten there every night!
We couldn't fault our stay at Ruang Tawan and will definitely be returning and have already recommended it to our friends.
Thank you again for a lovely last few days in Thailand!

About the Host, Raluque
I'm from Bangkok and went to school in England. I have a degree in ceramics but my true passion is cooking, especially baking! I went on a cooking course in Ballymaloe near Cork, Ireland a few years ago and now I have my own cafe in Chiang Mai. I love eating out, music and films.
