The space

Unique chance to stay in historic country house and family home. We offer a warm welcome and a haven of tranquility only one hour from Dublin. We have three en-suite guest rooms (see all our listings) and guests are welcome to relax by our open fires in dining and drawing rooms. The house is easily reached by car or train. Good base to explore the South-East of Ireland.

Spacious room in the oldest part over the house (16hundreds) OVERLOOKING the back garden and yard. Featuring a queen size double bed a single bed and a SHARED BATHROOM with one other room only - the adjoining Poppy room - making these two rooms a popular choice for families or groups of friends traveling together.

Dollardstown House has been the family for over forty years. After a lot of hard work and dedication we have decided to re-open it as a Bed & Breakfast and revive this wonderful historic home.

Dollardstown House is sitting in 20 acres of mature parkland, making it a haven of tranquility. Although the parkland is grazed by cattle, most of the gardens can be enjoyed by our guests. The Behan family always were keen gardeners; Andrew is a horticulturalist. And it shows. There are many plants and trees to be enjoyed. Some trees have been around since the times of Napoleon! (Nelson’s ship fighting Napoleon was made partly with trees from Dollardstown.)

Be welcomed with home-made scones and tea / coffee. In the morning wake up to the smell of home-made bread and freshly ground coffee. Whether you prefer a full Irish or an extensive continental breakfast, you can expect locally sourced foods prepared with dedication. We are happy to cater for special diets on request.

Come and join us for a heartwarming break in Co. Kildare.

Guest access

As a guest in Dollardstown House you are welcome to relax in the sitting room. On a chilly day we will have the fire lit. A TV is provided here too for your comfort.
If the Irish weather allows, why not enjoy the gardens?

Interaction with guests

Andrew and I live on-site. We are happy to help out. Please note we clean the house between 12 noon and 4. From 10.30 pm to two hours before the first breakfast is rest time.

The neighborhood

Dollardstown House is ideal for visiting Kilkenny, Glendalough and Kildare (Japanse Gardens & National Stud) as we are slap-bang in the middle.
The East of Ireland has a wealth of ancient monuments. Watch out for Ireland's Ancient East promotion by Tourism Ireland. Anf again, Dollardstown is right there at the centre of it all.

Hi, we are Andrew & Antoinette and we are listing our lovely Dollardstown House Bed & Breakfast located in Ireland.
Andrew grew up in Dollardstown and so is a born and bred Kildare man. Andrew loves gardening and trees, he can guide you around the grounds and gardens like no other, as he's a horticulturalist and garden-designer. Antoinette is from the Netherlands, in Ireland 10 years. She fell in love with Ireland and then with an Irish man (Andrew of course). Antoinette loves sharing her enthusiasm for all Ireland has to offer to visitors.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Dollardstown House!

Warmest regardsm Andrew & Antoinette.
