Dollardstown House has been the family for over forty years. After a lot of hard work and dedication we have decided to re-open it as a Bed & Breakfast and revive this wonderful historic home.
Dollardstown House is sitting in 20 acres of mature parkland, making it a haven of tranquility. Although the parkland is grazed by cattle, most of the gardens can be enjoyed by our guests. The Behan family always were keen gardeners; Andrew is a horticulturalist. And it shows. There are many plants and trees to be enjoyed. Some trees have been around since the times of Napoleon! (Nelson’s ship fighting Napoleon was made partly with trees from Dollardstown.)
Be welcomed with home-made scones and tea / coffee. In the morning wake up to the smell of home-made bread and freshly ground coffee. Whether you prefer a full Irish or an extensive continental breakfast, you can expect locally sourced foods prepared with dedication. We are happy to cater for special diets on request.
Come and join us for a heartwarming break in Co. Kildare.
Wow, what a great place! Its a little bit off the beaten track but absolutely worth the effort. Its an amazing large old manor house, full of history and charm. Antoinette and Andrew are terrific hosts who bent over backwards to help us out and make our stay a real delight. They are doing a great job in keeping this lovely old house alive and thriving. It seems to have a personality of its own an staying there was one of the highlights of our time in Ireland.
My husband and I had a lovely stay here. Antoinette and Anthony made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The history of the house is very interesting. I would recommend staying here!
Great house with great room and a superb plot, not to mention the breakfast king. Very gracious hosts.
The perfect place to spend a luxurious stay. The only problem, the house is far from everything. Therefore, it is very quiet, but it is difficult to come and go from the city center.
Fantastic BnB, tucked away on a gorgeous property. Andrew and Antoinette were super nice, welcoming us even fairly late at night with homemade scones. We only stayed one night, but we both slept better than we had our whole trip! The room was also warmer than any other we stayed in (by that point we were used to wearing layers to bed and freezing a little), and the shower pressure was great. It's a beautiful old house and Andrew and Antoinette have clearly worked quite a bit to make sure that everything functions smoothly. Breakfast was ready for us early in the morning, and I only wish that we had had more time to sit and eat! The Irish breakfast and freshly baked soda bread were delicious. All in all a great stay at Dollardstown House--we would highly recommend it!
