Dawn was very accommodating and made our experience seamless and easy. The apartment was clean and as it appears in the pictures. Unfortunately the pipes weren't working and we were freezing! Dawn came late at night to drop off a blanket which was a total lifesaver.
I stayed four weeks in this cozy place. It is clean and exactly as it appears in the photos. Dawn is a pleasure to work with. WiFi was not working most of my visit, but since I was visiting family most of the time that was not a big deal for me.
Dawn was right on time to meet us and responsive to any needs we had and the place was (email hidden)ank you!!
- location -- nice neighborhood, walkable to barclays ctr.
- cleanliness -- the place came CLEAN
- peace-of-mind -- no bedbugs YAY
- responsiveness -- dawn was very much available by phone
- sleep -- unit was very quiet
- appliances -- all modern, all clean, all nice
- wireless -- the wireless stopped working and never came back
- basement -- this is a basement unit, so it was a bit musty
- small -- it's less than 1/2 of a brownstone floor, zero closets
All in all, this place was a very economical, functional place to stay for two working professionals. Fix the wireless, and I'd definitely do it again!
Thanks Dawn! Everything was great.
This Clinton Hill apartment was the perfect location for us visiting our kids in Brooklyn, 2 blocks from the C train and easy walking distance to some great neighborhoods. The apartment is as advertised and very cozy. We had a similar experience with the cleanliness of the floor as mentioned in another review, but everything else was clean and nice. Dawn was right there as promised with the key when we arrived, and 'check-out' couldn't be any easier. This was our first Airbnb experience and it really made our visit to NYC enjoyable, we'll definitely be back...
We stayed here during Thanksgiving week and had a great stay. The apartment itself is extremely accessible, there are 2 subway lines that it is very close to (4-7 minute walk) and is a 20 minute ride to Manhattan. It's also in a great, safe neighborhood, literally 3 minutes from a nice grocery store, restaurants and if you want to walk it -- 25 minutes to downtown Brooklyn and Shake Shack!! (yes you can take the subway instead too). The apartment is exactly as pictured, roomy enough for an NYC apartment; although it is a basement unit so not a lot of natural light. That said - we spent most of our time outside the apartment anyway exploring NYC! When we first entered the carpet/floor was dirty with food crumbs / other stuff, which kind of made the other areas of the apartment suspicious but overall can't complain about the cleanliness. It is a very well kept apartment.
Dawn is a great host, around 30 minutes after she dropped off the keys with us, we called her up because we accidentally locked ourselves out (we were tired from a long flight) -- she went back right away and helped us out no problem. Also, a few days in, the ceiling started dripping (leak from upstairs), ofcourse which is not her fault, but the very next day she had maintenance come and fix it! Remember this was Thanksgiving so we really appreciated this. Maintenance itself took a good 2 days, the problem was more serious than initially anticipated and there was a lot of drilling and noise during the day, but Dawn apologized and even gave us a token to try to make up for it.
Overall we had a great stay - NYC is a great place and more than just Manhattan. If you'd like to enjoy the best of both worlds (Manhattan + Brooklyn) I highly recommend this apartment for its location and great value. :)
Fantastic stay. The room was exactly as described and illustrated on Airbnb. The check-in process was very easy and Dawn was just great to work with. The area is very safe. The noise outside the apartment is what you would expect living in Brooklyn = no issues. My wife and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and we would definitely come back. A wonderful time spent in Brooklyn.
Dawn was always helpful and easy to contact when needed. The flat was clean and in an excellent location for us (near to family), and the bed was very comfortable. We regularly used the great Italian restaurant, Aita, next door, and there was a well-equipped food store over the road.
Dawn was a fantastic and very quick-to-respond hostess! Loved the apartment, and we'll try to stay there again next time we come through Brooklyn.
