We were beyond thrilled with our stay at this little oasis on the cliffside. Marie-José greeted us warmly and got us settled in with tea and a snack, much appreciated after a long day of traveling. The little cottage is like a spa: comfortable bed, gorgeous bathroom, and the most amazing chairs set up to take in the majestic views. We loved the little local village, hiked the area around Horn Head, and ventured further afield to explore the area. Really amazing experience ... thank you!
A view to die for. The accommodation was as depicted in the photos. It was very comfortable and a pleasure sitting out in the sun area after a big day of sightseeing. The people of Donegal were fantastic and it was more like a homecoming than a holiday. It was unfortunate that the wifi was not working but I am sure this will be rectified. For a peaceful getaway could not go past this site. Communication was excellent. Found out so much about where we lived in Portnablagh even getting a guided tour of our home of 62 years ago.
Myself and my fiancee had an absolutely amazing time at Marie Jose's Luxury Cliffside Retreat in Dunfanaghy. The house has the most spectacular view over the Atlantic. Even though the weather wasn't great while we were there, we were able to relax and read in the sun room, with a fantastic panorama view. The house is very clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back!
Upon arrival we were welcomed by Marie-Jose, who explained everything. The location and accommodation is exactly as described. The locality is dramatic, stunning and tranquil. It is perfectly located for touring the local area while appreciating the peace and quiet.
This home was beyond beautiful, the views were unreal. We enjoyed our stay so much, even in the off season, there was lots to do. We would love to return!
Marie-José's cottage was wonderful! Exactly as described and immaculate. Despite being nervous about visiting Ireland in late November, we were perfectly warm in the guest cottage, enjoyed the beautiful views, and had a great time visiting the village of Dunfanaghy. Marie-José was very helpful and quick to respond to any inquiries. We would love to return!
Stunning location with fabulous views and a comfortable weekend retreat. Do note that there is no kitchen, but a kettle and toaster for a simple breakfast. A token teabag, coffee and milk would have been welcome, but we were happy to eat out. Can heartily recommend the Olde Glen Bar in Glen. One mishap was the electronic gates failing to open on our arrival – of course we understand these things happen - but it did take 45 minutes in the cold, dark and wet for it to be sorted.
The guests were very impatient , this is the first time that the key pad stopped working , and as soon as the guest called me I arrange for my cleaning lady to make her way from the evening she was attending with friends , after opening with the beeper the guests drive passed her without a thank you .
They continued this way of behaving during their stay . Still they were very tidy !
