Interesting and cozy space! As with the other reviewers, I was very pleased with the house as well as the communication and friendliness of Kevin.
One small note. The house is located near the intersection of two roads, so you will hear car noise occasionally. My wife is a light sleeper, and this woke her at times, but it didn't affect me at all.
spent 2 day in Kevin home with my g/f in the beginning of march, we had a great time. His place is clean, plenty of room & has just a great charm about it. Wish it was warmer so we could have sat outside on the roof top deck...maybe next time. Never got to meet Kevin, but he was very responsive to questions we had by phone or email.
Kevin's apartment is unique, to say the least, and it is well situated for those wanting to get away but still be close to the shops and pubs of E. Stroudsburg and the ski resort in Tannersville. The building is incredible, being both historic and modern at once. It was clean and cozy, despite being much larger than it appears in the photos. It certainly has enough space for two, and it would make a great place for a group of 4-6.
Kevin had some trouble with the water heater on the day we were supposed to arrive, but he kept me up to date and fulfilled his promise to have it fixed ASAP. Everything was set for our arrival later that day. Kevin also left some beer in the fridge, which was available to his guests - not a bad way of ensuring a five-star rating, in my opinion!
Kevin's house is wonderful! My girlfriend and I drove out from the city for a getaway weekend and Kevin's converted church fit the bill perfectly. The house is super clean with all the necessary cookware/linens provided. The bed is unbelievably comfortable. Had a bit of confusion starting the shower but Kevin was great and gave a phone call immediately explaining. Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg had plenty to explore on main street and we had an excellent dinner at Le Persil. Kevin also provided recommendations on where to eat personally and left a ton of guides out to supplement. Overall this was a fantastic experience and we plan in returning! Thank you Kevin!
This is a wonderful place to stay. One of a kind renovated church. Highly recommended. Spacious layout with high ceilings. Kevin was a great host and very responsive to email questions ahead of time.
My boyfriend and I spent this past weekend at Kevn's B&B and it was wonderful! The place was charming and perfect for the two of us, especially since we spent a lot of time indoors. It was great to have a kitchen to cook in with all the supplies we needed. The setting was peaceful and beautiful and close to lots of attractions and restaurants. Kevin was a very responsive and accommodating host. Next time we go to the Poconos we are definitely staying here again!
We had a great time at Kevin's place. It is beautiful and he really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable! He left some great suggestions for things to do in the Poconos and had set up some beautiful Christmas decorations. I was worried about how cold it might be, but the house is quite cozy. You should know that there are some other apartments sharing the building. Every once in a while you will hear or glimpse neighbors.
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend after eloping in a town nearby. Kevin was a wonderful host! He recommended a few places nearby for us to enjoy some craft beers and also had brochures on the counter for various activities in the Poconos. He also kindly set up another bed for our two friends that stayed with us the first night.
The house is beautiful and very bright and open, and quirkily decorated with lots of beer mugs and Rolling Stones memorabilia. The perks for us were the record player (which included plenty of Chuck Mangione records!) and jacuzzi tub upstairs. He also has a decent selection of DVDs to choose from, and a very comfortable couch!
The house is great for a relaxing weekend away from the daily grind, but it's also a nice place to stay if you plan on doing any Pocono activities and want a good home base to come back to at the end of the day.
I should also note, for any winter travelers, that we drove through some heavy snow to get to the house and all the adjacent roads were completely plowed and clear by morning.
Pros: Kevin was a great host. He was very responsive with any concerns and gave many suggestions for restaurants and things to do. His home is great for a couple on a romantic getaway, and the heat works nicely. A nice jacuzzi bathtub as well. Cons: Some parts of the kitchen could have been a bit cleaner (old food in the fridge, freezer needed a clean, etc.), and bathroom sink/shower drained slow.
Just so you know, the house I rent out is my home & not for the sole purpose of Airbnb guest. So any food / drink in the fridge was not old but rather my own. (However guest are of course welcome to it ) I know that there are other rentals that have their fridges & cabinets food free but this is not the case with my home. I am sorry about the drainage problem. I did notice that there was hair in the shower/tub drain when I returned but I am happy to say that me and my plunger have solved the problem.
We stayed at this amazing renovated church for 3 days/2 nights. Kevin was so helpful and responsive to our every need. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies, the bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and everything was very clean. The entire home has a great vibe and decor. As an added bonus, Kevin's home is located in short driving distance to lots of great activities - we went to Bushkill Falls and a bunch of great restaurants in the quaint surrounding towns. There are wineries, candle-makers and tons of outdoor space. We can't wait to go back - this is truly a peaceful home away from home.
