About this listing
Spacious Living room with plenty of light.... faces the kitchen-open plan. Bose Sound Dock & T.V.
This private one bedroom apartment is a fairly new listing. We call it "Medius" ( Latin for middle) because it is situated in the middle level of a beautiful home in the very middle the 7 square miles of gorgeous San Francisco. The apartment has it's own separate entrance. Hardwood floors.
One bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed & an electric fireplace for added ambience; a fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge, oven, microwave, toaster oven and dishwasher; the spacious living room which is open to the kitchen provides views of downtown San Francisco and there is a newly installed gas operated log fireplace to keep you cozy of an evening; a large bathroom with a tub in which to soak & a heated towel rack for when you get out :) There is a spacious verandah which overlooks the city and from which you can see the new lighting that adorns the Bay Bridge; a large walk in closet with shelves, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. We supply wireless internet and a Bose sound system for your music needs. There is a small washer/dryer coin operated facility several doors down should you need it. We provide all the bed linens & towels.
This place is situated in a quiet, super safe area of San Francisco and is very romantic ! There are some amazing hikes from here, one a very short distance away which can provide almost a 360 view of San Francisco & from which on a clear day you can see the Marin Headlands & the Farrallon Islands. Many places are within walking distance from here including Haight Ashbury, UCSF,Cole Valley, 24th Street and the Castro. There is also easy access to public transport right at the corner where several bus lines can get you pretty much anywhere in a short space of time; so that you don't have to wait for the bus, you can go online and search "(website hidden)" which gives you GPS accuracy on when the appropriate bus is to arrive-then you just walk out the door, down about 100 yards and jump on.... the buses run quite frequently.
To get 'downtown' you can catch either of these buses which in a few minutes will get you down to the Castro region and from there you simply switch onto the underground with the same ticket and within a very short space of time, you are in Union Square where there are plenty of places to shop; there is also easy access from there to Fisherman's Wharf via the famous Cable Cars. Then after a long day of perusing downtown, you get to come back to a peaceful retreat where you can then plan for the next days events... perhaps to Golden Gate Park or Haight Ashbury, both easily accessible by jumping on one of these buses and heading in the opposite direction or, if you feel like the exercise you can walk it in about 10-15 minutes.
So much to do...so little time-come check it out !
Parking is pretty easy compared to a lot of areas in San Francisco & there are no 2 hour residential time limits imposed here so you can park all day if needs be.
** since this is a fairly new listing and you may be skeptical you can check out the reviews of "Lovely Studio Apartment" which is downstairs form this place, to get an idea of both the ambience and the area.
Interaction with Guests
i know they don't come to San Francisco to meet me.... i am available to answer questions or help if assistance is needed but generally stay out of folks way.
Peaceful/quiet/extremely safe/clean, fresh air, excellent views of downtown San Francisco and Bay Bridge & the East Bay & easy access to pretty much anywhere in San Francisco due to a super convenient bus route about 50 years down at the corner.
MUNI.... easy, as mentioned before.
We try really hard to recycle.
Since California is experiencing its fourth consecutive year of drought and we have mandatory water restrictions imposed, please be mindful of water consumption- thanks :).
If excessive cleaning is necessary, an extra $75 cleaning fee will be applied.
This is a residential neighborhood so no parties &/loud music please.
There is no smoking indoors but you can smoke on the back porch
The gate that leads to downstairs must be kept shut and latched at all times. If not, the wind will catch it and break it off it's hinges :(
We loved this quiet, tranquil and centrally located apartment. Easy walking to the Haight, Castro and the Mission, and gorgeous views of the city from the back deck. I loved sitting out there reading, listening to the wind chimes.
The bed was comfy and Mia left the fridge stocked with a few essentials which we much appreciated!
Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
I’ve traveled all over the US for several years for work and pleasure and Medius is the one of the best places yet. I say that for many reasons; it is an excellent location, you have a spectacular view of the city, it is close to the city but quiet and peaceful, the outside living space is wonderful for relaxing and enjoying the views, you can find street parking without the need for the residential sticker (you won’t need to move your car every two hours) and most of all, Mia, Sal and Gus are just plain good people. Of course Gus is the four legged family member, but he is so sweet and gentle. There is just a good vibe there, Mia & Sal are there if you need anything, but leave you to your privacy. I was traveling with my four legged family member and they made us feel welcomed with Boo’s dishes placed and a bagel & cream cheese for me! I I wholeheartedly recommend Medius to anyone visiting San Francisco. I probably need to let you know that if you’re not driving, public transportation is just a couple of steps away, so you can get to anywhere in the city by the muni or walking. Honestly, there is just not a down side if you make the choice to say at Medius. Enjoy your stay!!
We had a great 1 week stay at Mia's apt.
The apt was even beter than on the pictures, clean and homey feeling and a superb view over SF. On the hill overlooking the whole city and very close tot Cole, Haight and Castro.
The contact with Mia both before and during the stay was helpful and welcoming. I definitely recommend this bnb!
The apartment was great! Mia was very responsive to all of my emails. He made a special effort to get a patio heater working for us so we could enjoy the view from the apartment. We had a wonderful stay.
Mia was incredibly responsive and welcoming on arrival. The apartment is super clean and comfortable. Her nice touches of bagels and basics in the fridge was great. The apartment is also kitted out with all the things you need...iron, hairdryer etc.
And the views are super!
Mia was a wonderful host. She was extremely responsive to any questions I had. She has created an oasis in the city. There were so many little details that made her place feel homey. She even had a few things in the refrigerator and fresh bagels to welcome us! We appreciated that. You can tell that she loves her place. It was exactly as presented in the listing. We loved the location. We came to visit our son and his wife and we were within walking distance to them. We would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat!!! So much better than an impersonal hotel.
Cozy, lovely apartment with remarkable views. Mia made us feel very welcome via a personal letter, recommendations and discreet email check-ins to make sure everything was ok. Never had the chance to meet, but that never made it feel impersonal. The apartment has a homey, lived-in quality which was exactly what we were looking for. On arrival, it was a pleasant surprise to find the fridge thoughtfully supplied with some basics as well as fresh bagels on the counter! Love the Twin Peaks area though not for people who want immediate convenience as everything requires a bit of a walk. This was not a problem for us. Thanks again!
