The space

The bungalow is built in a warm, friendly wooden surf shack style. Sitting backed into the jungle a mear 400m up the side of a hill on a secluded private road, overlooking playa St Teresa from the famous surf break, Suck Rock to the North, down to La Lora in the South. It's a few minutes walk uphill from the main road but the atmosphere and the privacy is worth every single step. The beach, surf rentals and a grocery store are all in 5 - 10 minutes walking distance. If you are planning to come by car make sure to have a 4x4 for this area.

The Studio is located on the ground level of the house and has an independent entrance. It features views of the surrounding jungle on the side, an ocean view to the front and has a lovely new built terrace with a couch on the side and a small outside sitting area in the front. The decision whether and where to go surfing or to go to one of the outstanding yoga classes in town is usually made while enjoing a coffee or fresh juice on the terrace at breakfast.

It comes with a fully equipped kitchen, living area with a couch, a comfy double bed and a bathroom. The studio is one big room - though the bed is in the back of the studio and a little separated from the kitchen and sitting area.

During your stay I will normally live upstairs with my girlfriend and will be happy to help you with recommendations.

Incredibly lovely bungalow. We loved the view, making breakfast in the morning, making dinner and watching the sunset. It was truly lovely. Only problem was it is up a huge hill! But with ATV or car it's fine. Youbi was very kind and helpful.

Youbi and his place were both awesome! He was very informative regarding driving directions and specifically regarding road work on the hill approaching his house. He provided recommendations for surf board rental and surf spots. Super nice guy, would absolutely recommend staying here. The place is very open and provides the essentials while maintaining a cool and quite simple approach. You need 4 wheel drive to get to the place but it'll prob be mich easier to get there after the road work is done. A short drive to the beach and countless bars/restaurants. Amazing place!

Where do I begin? This is probably one of the best places I've ever stayed with AirBnB, it felt like a magical treehouse getaway. The open air layout, view to the ocean, comfy bed, beautiful shower and bathroom. I woke up to monkeys everyone morning as I made my coffee and viewed out over the water. Youbi was a great host and I would highly recommend staying here. It is up a steep hill. I didn't have an ATV but would recommend one. They are easy to rent once you get into town. Muchas gracias Youbi!

This place is great, on the hill with great view. It's secluded without being too far from town. Youbi was away while we were there, but made sure everything was set up, great host!

Wonderful place, great view! Clean, comfortable, easy access to beach and town below. Probably better to have 4 wheel drive or ATV for steep incline to house but worth it.

This beach bungalow is really special. It's a beautifully built structure with tasteful design and the best decor you could ask for: an open air view of the beach with spectacular sunsets. While we really loved the concept of this bungalow, the reality is that it is in the middle of a jungle which comes with some inconveniences. Expect bugs (spiders, a lot of ants, hungry mosquitoes) - even with the mosquito net, long sleeve shirts / pants, and a ton of bug spray, I still managed to get ~5 bites a night (my boyfriend didn't though, so if you are not prone to insect bites, this may not be an issue). We also felt too hot in the evenings as there wasn't much of a breeze (there is a fan in the room and cold showers before bed helped cool us off). Wifi worked ~50% of the time and cell signal on the hill was spotty. It is also a pretty rough and steep drive from the main road, so I would really recommend a 4WD or ATV. Lastly, there wasn't any soap or toilet paper, so we had to make a quick stop at the supermarket before we could fully settle in. In summary, if you want a completely relaxing and blissful vacation, you may want to consider a room closer to the beach with A/C. If you don't mind more of a rustic truly outdoor experience, definitely consider this place. You will be surrounded by monkeys and iguanas playing in the trees, a buffalo next door, an occasional horse trotting up the street, and an incredible landscape. Last but not least, because Youbi was out of town, we had the pleasure of meeting Sarah, a friend of theirs who helped us check in. She shared a lot of recommendations with us, connected us with a Tico for surf lessons, and took us to yoga, dinner, and an art exhibit. If you end up staying here, I hope you get to meet Sarah as well - she's an amazing person and made our trip to Santa Teresa that much better.
