Claudia was a wonderful host. She provided details to our stay at the studio at least a week before our trip and made herself available during our stay if we had any questions. The studio is absolutely beautiful and has an excellent location to accommodate any traveler. Some of the highlights in staying at Claudia's studio include watching the hummingbirds in the sunny and private backyard, enjoying the amount of natural light that the studio gets during the day, appreciating the quiet neighborhood that has a lot to offer and the ease of getting around on foot. I would definitely like to stay here again the next time I am traveling to the Bay Area.
I live in Berkeley and my parents and sister visited me from South Korea for a week. Claudia's studio looked great for them so that I booked. This was first experience using airbnb thus little bit worried. But once I talked to Claudia over the phone and her kind explanation, all my worries were relieved.
Studio looked newly remodeled and pretty clean. Had enough space for 3-4 companies. If you wanna cook yourself, there are definitely enough cooking tools that would satisfy you.
The only thing I wish it to have is washer and dryer. Since I live nearby, so they can wash their clothes but if you don't have relatives, that might be little uncomfortable.
My family comfortably stayed and loved staying there. They wish to come back for sure!
I stayed at Claudia's studio for one week because I visited my son who is presently a student at Berkeley. I didn't want a hotel room, so I booked this place and everything turned out to be very positive. The studio was perfect for me, I liked the private garden, the well-equipped kitchen, the nice bathroom and the big living-room. Everything was just as I had expected and as it was described. Claudia was a wonderful host, very helpful and friendly. The neighborhood is safe and not far away from downtown. I really felt at home and I can recommend this place to everyone who wants to stay in Berkeley.
This was a lovely place that accommodated 3 of us perfectly. Our host thought of all the little details. Being an artist's studio, it had a delightful charm about it. Beautiful bathroom and great shower. Also, enjoyed catching some sun in the backyard. Our host was very friendly and excellent at communicating from beginning to end. I'd highly recommend. Only issue for older renters might be that the stairs to the loft bedroom are steep. Was not a problem for our son and I slept on the pullout on the ground floor.
Claudia was wonderful - very warm, friendly and accommodating. She was there for what I needed and left me to my own when not. Lots of information to share as well! The space was beautiful and cozy, and looked bigger than the pictures. Everything that I needed was there (except Tupperware, so if you plan to have leftovers, bring some). I felt so comfortable and rested in the space. It was rejuvenating and just lovely. I'd definitely recommended it - great location, too!
Claudia's guesthouse worked out perfectly for my 2 week stay. It was comfortable, had everything I needed, and very peaceful, with it's own little backyard. The description and photos on her site are very accurate.
The only thing anyone would want to be mindful of is the fairly steep steps up to the sleeping loft. But there is a very cleverly designed 'stair/ladder' that makes it easier to manage - and once you get up there the bed is deliciously comfortable and the sleeping area is plenty big enough - not at all cramped or low-ceilinged.
Claudia was available whenever I needed her, and invisible when I didn't (perfect, in other words). She had plenty of suggestions when asked, and helpful and responsive at all times.
I brought my bicycle up to Berkeley with me and that made the trip even more fun. The place is centrally located and a very easy distance from almost everything.
