As a host, we will not be able to see this person's review until we post ours, but sadly, I know what to expect. It would really have been best if they did not post a review at all, because now the world will be able to see feedback about them from a very experienced and successful airbnb host. Read our guest reviews on the website and you will see how normal people express their appreciation of what we have to offer. We love making our home available to tourists with airbnb, and we have a lot of repeat guests. These folks will certainly not be among them. Lori from Florida joined airbnb in January, and immediately rented our place for two days in June. We prefer to rent to folks with some posted host reviews, but she seemed so excited that we took her reservation. She was traveling with a friend, so right away we asked what sleeping arrangement to make for them. We are always interested in an arrival time because we like to greet our guests when they get to our place. We heard nothing until they just walked into the apartment before our posted check in time. It is quite clear to us that these folks just did not understand our place, and while Lori said that she had read all our reviews, it was clear that she had not bothered to read all the other information on our airbnb webpage. We are always ready to answer any follow up questions a guest might have about our place or Maui, Lori failed to ask for any information. Unlike Florida, not every interior space on Maui is air conditioned, like the condos and hotels are. We make it quite clear that the trade winds and ceiling fans cool our place. When they barged in unannounced and early to find Judy finishing a cleaning cycle from the previous guests, the first comment was a very snippy demand, "Where is the air conditioning?" Their attitude went downhill form there. These folks should have chosen to rent a condo in Kihei across the street from the beach, that's what they really wanted. But rather than express their unmet expectations in a sincere and friendly manner, they both chose to lob insults at us and make demands about refunds. I referred them to the airbnb resolution center, and their reservation was cancelled. We have never had anyone walk out on us before. It was a sad surprise and a most unpleasant few minutes trying to have a rational conversation with two angry, self righteous, and foolish people. If you are a host reading this review, I would advise passing on this guest, because you will be opening a can of problems, garans ballbarens. Once in blue moon someone like this is bound to darken our doorstep, we hope they found paradise in a south Maui condo.
