What i can offer is my spare bedroom/guest quarter, which has a small private garden & attached/adjacent SPACIOUS private lanai (with patio furniture & a sofa), which despite the caveat of a shared bathroom (with me & my kitties!) gives you a sense of being in your own space, instead of just staying in somebody's spare bedroom - even though access to it IS thru the main house's living room/front door. Location is very convenient; at the north end of Kapa'a, just over a mile up from the nearest beach, & the fabulous beach-path (great for walking & biking!), only 2 miles from the spectacular Kealia Beach (great for both swimming and surfing), which is featured on many Best Beaches lists, & in the other direction we're just over a mile away from shops, the local coffee shop, food-trucks on the beach, restaurants & the Kapa'a Crafts Faire...this is a very pleasant beach-adjacent neighbourhood (which is actually quieter than being by the beach in many of the more expensive accommodations, but of course not as tranquil as staying at an inland island residence surrounded by land in all directions - i.e. this is a medium-density residential neighbourhood rather than a retreat). All is within easy biking distance (I have a couple of beach bike/cruisers for my guests' use, but if you need your own, there are several bike rental places down the hill), and it's 'almost' (about a mile in either direction to a bus-stop) on the bus route, so renting a car isn't an absolute necessity - which is a BIG savings here in Hawai'i if your budget is tight. Or if you have a rental car, you can either park in the driveway by the garage if the vacation rental apartment occupants have an average sized car, or behind me (i park in the garage, so we have to arrange access between us - IF necessary, which has been seldom so far...& seldom been any difficulty!). Because of the lay-out of the main room of the house, i don't offer kitchen privileges, but there is a small refrigerator & a coffee-maker in the room, & also an outdoor cold water tap & sink in your private garden (in addition to the shared bathroom - but please don't rinse cups & dishes there; thank you!). Washer & dryer access by arrangement (i.e. shared between myself & the vacation rental on the other side of the house, it has to be sensibly organised so that we don't all want to do our laundry the same day!), but preferably only for my guests who stay for at least a week (alternatively, there is a Laundromat conveniently located near the Post Office just past downtown of Old Kapa'a, which is very close to where we are). Quieter than my own bedroom because it's away from the road - which is busy early in the morning & mid-afternoon, but not used much the rest of the time besides Friday & Saturday nights! - our neighbours on the other side of the brick wall seldom make much noise @ all...though we do have the notorious Kaua'i roosters nearby which tend to go off whenever they want! No TV, but WIfi (most folks stream TV &/or (website hidden) or videos or what they want to watch on their laptops these days anyway!). MUST be cat-friendly because despite my best efforts, my kitties will continue to come into that part of the lana'i & garden - but you can feel free to shoo OR woo 'em!
If no rental car (they're all @ the airport), take a county bus from the airport (= slow, but inexpensive!), otherwise a taxi cab will run you around $40+ tip depending on the time of day/traffic - or you can request an airport pick up from me (or a friend) for $25, IF we are free/available for when you need (please pre-arrange, preferably/obviously!)

Clean, comfortable, large room, easily fits 2 people. Nice that there was a small fridge that Eve had stocked with mineral water and coffee creamer and had even left fruit from the local farmer's market. Eve is so sweet and delightful!
Eve and her sweet cats were lovely hosts on our trip to Kauai; offering great tips on must-see locations and a cozy, clean room for us to lay our heads. We were ambitious to make the most out of our short stay and it was nice to have a good, fairly central place come back to at the end of the day. Thank you Eve!
Eve was a wonderful host. Her place is very clean and comfortable, exactly what we needed for our stay in Kauai. Location is great especially since we used the bikes and were able to use the Kauai bus very easily. Kapaa is a very relaxed town and we were able to get around it very easily with Eve's recommendations. Mahalo Eve for everything!
Eve is such a welcoming hostess. She met us with a cold glass of tea, stocked our room with fresh fruit, coffee, tea and spring water, plus she made us a hot cup of tea each night. The bed is really comfy and the house is located just up the hill of North Kapa'a so one can visit the town, eat at a variety of restaurants, and walk or bike the gorgeous coastal trail.
It was a pleasure staying with Eve. The house and room are spotless, spacious and bright. The room is very comfortable. Eve is a pleasure to stay with as she is extremely helpful and pleasant. Upon coming home after a "hard" day of fun you are greeted with a cuppa (mug of herbal tea) and often something Eva baked. Well, we don't go on holidays to loose weight, do we? The house is centrally located between the North Coast and the Waimea Canyon in the very comfortable town of Kapa'a.
- well in your case, I think all that trekking thru muddy trails DID make you lose weight!
Glad you got home safely & are now comfy all the way back there in the WARM & SUNNY summer of Down-Under! Perhaps there was a belated Birthday cake waiting for your return?
A fantastic location, host, and experience! I totally loved Eve's hospitality, warmth, & information--both before and during our visit. The back lanai is simply calming & beautiful! Eve has that typical, quick-witted, yet dry, British charm that which ir right my streat as I am living in London for 14 years. So,a l

So, Eve was an excellent host. She gave me any help I needed. To find nice places to eat or wonderful places to go an see and feel the spirit of the island. The room I stayed didn't have a view but was the most relaxing one. I loved the bed!
I don't know if I can go there again but I can recommend that Eves place will make your stay most enjoyable. Thank you Eve
