The Space

It's a cute, sunny 3-room apartment in the perfect location on between the West Village and Soho. This coveted neighborhood is filled with trendy restaurants, independent film theaters, and an array of coffeeshops and boutique shopping. Located in a converted tenement building, this 3rd floor walkup (two flights up from street level) has new hardwood floors, tons of morning and early afternoon sun, a great view down 6th Avenue, and only-in-NYC charm like a shower in the kitchen!

Although you're only a short walk from the Lower East Side, Chinatown, SoHo, Tribeca, The West Village, The East Village, Union Square, NYU, Flatiron, Meatpacking District, Chelsea and more, the apartment is less than three blocks from 3 subway stops... that covers the A, B, C, D, E, F, M, 1, 2, 3 trains. There are also convenient bus routes along 6th Ave and Houston St.

There's a large kitchen with full gas stove and large counter/prep area; you'll have a stovetop espresso maker and a Nespresso Aeroccino frother plus a SodaStream... state of the art, if you want to stay in. You might never use any of that, though, since you're the middle of restaurant and espresso shop heaven. Modern Italian, Jamaican, Barbeque, Indian, upscale, French, Thai, Noodle Bar, Vegan... you name it, we've got it within 5 minutes walk.

Because the apartment is tenement style, it existed before bathrooms, meaning the toilet and the shower are add ons from some point post 1930. The toilet is located in a water closet off of the bedroom, and the shower is attached to an clawfoot tub, located next to where the water was during Civil war days: in the kitchen. Although that might sound odd, it works just fine... it's maybe even fun... it'll be a story to tell, that's for sure.

Aside from the bedroom and the large kitchen with shower, there is a cozy living room with windows and sun, plus a bookshelf full of books for your relaxing pleasure. Even though you'll spend most of your time wandering the best part of New York, you'll be comfortable in this quiet and uncramped home away from home.

  • Our stay at this place was awesome! The location is one of the best in NYC, subways really close and lots of restaurants, bars and bakerys. It was a bit noisy because the apartment is located near to a crossroad but for us it was ok to feel and hear the NYC sound ;)

The apartment was clean and coizy, but specially the bathtub is the highlight! Really funny to take a shower in the kitchen. We found everyting we needed in the apartment, there were lots of towels, very soft bedclothes, a hairdryer, ... Perfect for two girls exploring the city!

Our host Emily was so nice, always asking us if everything is ok. She provided us some bath stuff and we got lots of tips for restaurants, bars around the corner.
We would definitely come back to that place and we can highly recommend to stay there!

    Esperamos poder volver pronto!!!muchas gracias!!!

  • Emily is a very hospitable host, she stayed up late to let me in. The apartment is in good condition. The shower may seem awkward at first, but it becomes quite natural after the first time. Overall it's a nice place.

  • Had a fantastic time staying in this apartment. Location is absolutely ideal for exploring Greenwich village, Soho etc. Although the apartment has a few quirks (shower in kitchen, door out to the building atrium from bedroom) they all make for good fun - so long as you are familiar with whom ever you are staying with! The apartment has plenty of space, everything you need in the kitchen and a nice bright, sunny seating area. The hosts were really great too. All in all a very good value place to stay, would thoroughly recommend.
