Check In
  • The house looked exactly as pictured both inside and out. The bed is a full size. We had plenty of clean towels and you can tell the place gets professionally cleaned before each guest arrives. The grandfather clock is a bit loud, but once I fell asleep, it didn't wake me up. I found the place unique and cozy and more affordable than a typical hotel in Santa Cruz. I never met Pete, but his wife Cathy is very sweet. A nice perk is being able to read a copy of The New York Times. I would stay here again.

  • Pete was not there but Cathy was an excellent host! We arrived late and with our daughter at the last minute and Cathy made us feel right at home. Her hospitality was superb! It was great to meet you and have the East coast connection!

  • The hosts at this Airbnb will be new friends for sure! One of the things I loved about this home was the simple beauty and care that was evident in the "tranquility room" and the surrounding rooms that were available for our enjoyment. From the moment we stepped in the door I felt comfortable. It was my best sleep in weeks, with the quiet and a comfy bed. Thank you very much for our fun chats among kindred spirits, we will be back soon. Best, Katherine

  • Pete and Cathy were fabulous hosts! They provide an awesome experience for their guests, and are extremely warm and giving people. Pete certainly helped to make my experience in Santa Cruz a good one, with his ample knowledge of everything there is to do and all the best places to go. A+

  • This was more than what we were expecting out of a place to rest our head along our road trip. Pete's wonderful house and magical garden yard was safe, clean, eclectic and comfortable. Upon arrival we got a warm greeting and tour of the grounds by Pete. He gave us some great tips for exploring Santa Cruz and the surrounding areas and we were on out way. After an eventful night on the Boardwalk- which is just a short drive away, we came back to find our room's door open and our dog sauntered out to greet us. Our dog was a bit confused and scared by the new surroundings and was barking and whining. Pete and Cathy were so wonderful and helped keep our dog company while we were out - they even took her outside to do her business. She was so happy and well taken care of :) an extra perk on top of everything else. After a rock hard night of sleep, the coffee cake and coffee were perfect before we went on our way. I highly recommend this place to rest your head, you will not regret it.

  • Pete and Cathy were very welcoming hosts who anticipated our every need. At the same time, they were never intrusive. That's hard to pull off but they have mastered the art. We enjoyed visiting with them and a couple of their other guests. We were pleased with their peaceful outdoor spaces, especially as we were traveling with our old dog. Pete made sure to provide us with coffee and his pear-apple-loquat breakfast cake (ingredients depend on what he harvests from their yard).
