  • What a neat place to stay. The bikes were wonderful and the house is close to the beach and places to eat. The gardens are spectacular and a super place to sit and relax. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

  • We were in town for only one night and I wish we had stayed longer. I definitely plan to revisit! Pete & Cathy's home is lovely and they are excellent hosts, relaxed, attentive, thoughtful and super chill. They provided bikes so we could ride over to the nearby pleasure point area, they baked us gluten free treats for breakfast AND gave us great recommendations for places to visit and eat all of which were every bit as good as they said. They have 2 rentable rooms so great if you are traveling with another person/couple.

  • Airbnb at its best: the room was comfortable, clean and cozy; and the hosts friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Simply lovely.

  • Pete is the most wonderful host! Wonderful stories and wonderful coffee cake that he makes from the fruit trees in his back yard. We will totally come back and stay here.

  • Pete and Cathy are great hosts. The house/ room is very clean and charming, and they were very attentive. Their backyard is very pretty, you can take a nap in the hammock. Oh don't miss the handmade coffee cake served for breakfast. It's so yummy!

  • We enjoyed our brief stay here. Pete was great in accommodating us on our last minute booking with him that morning, despite his plans to leave town that afternoon. We were lucky enough to meet with him before he departed, and he was friendly and welcoming.

The house itself was pretty, with lots of little artistic touches. The bed was soft, and there were many blankets. The house has a huge backyard with a hammock and a lot of greenery.

The pear coffee cake that Pete makes is pretty darn delicious, too! Definitely a good place to stay on the east side of Santa Cruz!

  • My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pete and Cathy’s! They were very accommodating and provided us with plenty of dining options and maps of the area. The bedroom itself was comfortable with plenty of blankets and heating. The pear glazed coffee cake, coffee, and tea was fantastic as well! I felt right at home. I would definitely stay with Pete and Cathy again!

  • We had a wonderful time staying with Pete and Cathy. The room was exactly as described and the house is both clean and beautiful. The grounds are lovely and we enjoyed spending time wandering in the garden and seeing the chicken. They are extremely gracious hosts and have high standards of hospitality. Pete was up early in the morning to set the table for us and prepare the coffee, tea, and bake a fresh coffee cake. The cake tasted wonderful! We loved talking to both Pete and Cathy, they are very interesting and friendly people.
Santa Cruz is an amazing area to visit and Pete and Cathy provided great recommendations on what to see while we were there.
The room has soft linens on the bed and is private and comfortable. There are books to look through and plenty of travel guides to check out. The bathroom is extremely clean and has extra items in case travelers forgot to pack something.
Overall this was one of my favorite Airbnb experiences and I will definitely ask to stay again next time I am in the area. I highly recommend anyone to stay with them.
Thanks again for such a great stay!
