THE LOCATION: Kings Cross is one of the most vibrant areas in the heart of London. (website hidden) bus route for 390 which goes literally by the flat from Kings Cross. It goes to major tourist places in London and many important tube stations through the centre of London. Also check bus route 274.
Kings Cross itself has dramatic scenes in the landscape, with the Regent Canal running through with old pubs along its walk way route. The Kings Cross area has an array of interesting architecture modern and old –one of the finest being St Pancreas. The railway station itself is at the defining edge of modern architecture and style and embraces all the requirements of modern city living, with shopping malls, restaurants and to note a sophisticated Champagne bar on the mezzanine level. An array of restaurants and bars
surround the area. The area is most notable for its transport links and the ease with which to travel and see the city in any which direction. All tube lines go through Kings Cross. Major rail lines connect through Kings Cross including direct link to Luton and Gatwick airports. The Euro train runs directly from Kings Cross to Paris and the destinations in between. The quirkiness if Kings Cross is that the Regents Canal runs through it. This is a 10 minute walk from the house towards Kings Cross station. Walk along the Canal West to Camden Town, Regents Park, Little Venice and all the way to Paddington basin. You can also catch a boat there from Camden. Stop by at the gastro pubs along the way. Walk East from Kings Cross on the canal path to Bethnal Green and the city pubs and bars. Continue along and you will be mesmerized by the Georgian and Regency architecture through Regents Park…and catch sight of one or two animals past London Zoo by the canal.

Car: Best not bring a car to London as it is difficult to find parking and is expensive for parking and payment of the Congestion Zone ((website hidden) this to know more about it). Best to leave the car on the outskirt of the city and travel in.
HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY!

The 390 and 274 goes past the house and they serve the surrounding area and beyond. 274 to Islington and Camden and Regent Park and the 390 past many of the tourist places in central London including the British Museum, Oxford Street, Regent Street, and Marble Arch to Nottinghill Gate. Both bus routes goes past canals where you can get on the romantic canal walk ways.
There is a city and tube map in the flat : ) It is easy if you have an IPad as most stations in London now have wifi.

The area is full of mixture of professionals and typical British multi-cultural families living around. You will get a real flavour of typical inner city London living for most people living in London.
The place is friendly but also private as people just get on with their business. There are sport facilities very close by the flat and there's regular friendly football games. An interesting place!

We didn't see the host as we arrived a little bit later than expected but Lara had prepared everything. We were well settled in this little flat.
+ : flat on the ground floor so no need to carry heavy luggage for 3 floors with no lift. excellent communication with the host. comprehensive host (put the heater on before we arrived and let us put our luggage until later than 11am the day we left the flat). comfortable flat and clean!
-: Water for the shower was just warm, not hot. the flat was a bit noisy but I guess it is normal because it is London. heaters were not functional in the kitchen and bathroom (though it worked well in the rooms and the host said she would fix it when we leave). flat 20 min walk from tube station, not as close as expected BUT bus stop really close.
Lara's communications prior to and during our stay were excellent. Flat is in a great situation, very easy to get into town and is a very comfortable place to stay. Lara left great tourist information and we followed some of her advice on where to eat and drink which turned out to be great. Will definitely stay here again.
Everything was as described, the front room was noisy because of busy road but we are used to a very quiet situation. The flat was clean . We were asked not to use additional bedding which we thought had been included in the price which we may have wanted to use had my snoring become intolerable.
Good communication with host, seamless checkin and checkout. Location ok - a bit of a walk to Kings Cross and not much around the actual apartment. Apartment very clean, the outdoor area looked lovely (especially at night with the lights on) but unfortunately it rained when we were there so didn't use it. Apartment was fine for us but i think more than 2 people would be a squeeze as there is a sofa bed in the lounge room which isn't in the pictures. Also the hot water takes a while to come through, at first we thought it wasn't working but it just takes a couple of minutes. On the ground floor which is great as no stairs to climb. Would recommend to others.
Even though we (regrettably) did not meet in person, Lara was a perfect host: everything was well orgnised and she responded very helpfully and within short notice to all of our questions. The appartment was corresponding to the fotos, very clean, a fully equiped kitchen, comfortable bed and very nice back yard. It is certainly big enough for a couple and a third person/child, with five people though it would be a bit crowded. The location was perfect to our needs having a bus station just in front of the house connecting to Kings cross. In summary: we can highly recommend this place and hope to be back some time in the future!

You can expect a warm, hearty welcome when you get here!. Me? I am a young professional recently responding to the Holiday Let industry. I have lived in London all my life and love this beautiful city. I would love to tell you where to go to see the 'hidden London' that most tourists miss. I know some great places to eat and some really cool bars. I like to think of myself as a kind, generous person with an understanding nature. I love people and am interested from where they hale from. I look forward to meet you soon when you visit my lovely city. I can help you by providing you with a lot of information with what London has to offer so you can create your own itinerary for sightseeing and doing a great deal on a low budget. I offer you really comfortable places to stay, BUT I am not a hotel but a home from home. I look forward to you visiting. Lara : )
