Ideal location: right off the L., close to everything, great neighborhood. Superb host: helpful, friendly charming. Good Accommodation: Spacious, quiet and comfortable. Definitely would stay there again.
As it was my first time to the US, Lauren was very accommodating in helping me plan my free time with events and things for us to do together as we found we have the same interests. Although my work schedule did get in the way of us doing these things, I appreciated her offering and thought she was a super nice person. Also, I had a few great chats with her housemate Simon who was also very accommodating as a host too and found them both to be really lovely people.
I spent 6 nights at Laurens place and I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the apartment. I always knew there were cats but I didnt realise how much of an issue the hair would be, especially as I needed to be going to work everyday in my formal clothes so I had to leave my clothes folded in my cases to avoid getting hair on them. Also, I wasn't aware I would be sleeping in Lauren's room and work studio which meant I had no storage or space to ever unpack anything because there were a lot of tables or work stations in the way so in essence I had a bed and floor space to leave my cases and that was that. I also didnt eat very much at the apartment mainly because I ate out a lot at events but the kitchen wasnt very inviting in any regard as the fridge smelt awful and made the apartment smell very off too. The bathroom could've done with a quick spritz to make it feel more welcoming for guests and Lauren advised I didn't waste room in my case bringing towels as they would be available but I didn't get one until the following day after I arrived in the evening so I couldn't shower the first morning. She did apologise and It wasn't her fault; but it's just my fault for not taking a towel. Lastly, I didn't ever feel I could unwind in the lounge area because of the cats; although they are very sweet and cuddly, they leave a whirlwind of fur behind. I am not ordinarily allergic to cats but by the end of the week my eyes were red and itchy and I think this was from them sleeping on the pillows.
All in all I really enjoyed Lauren & SImons company and think they're really great. The location of the apartment was good because it was very near the train and bus stations. However, in the future I think the apartment could be more guest ready to make the stay more comfortable.
The apartment was great, good location, nice neighborhood and Lauren was super nice. Recommended!!
Nice apartment with great loving cats. The area is a nice area and parking is right in front of the building which was great.
Lauren was fantastic and her apt was super convenient for my trip. I would highly recommend her place.
I loved staying in a causy place with The cats. Little Cat, Murphy and Connors. Great base for my fav bar Big Chicks, around The corner. And: 1 minute from red line train.
Location was great: close to a train stop, walking distance to some of the best asian restaurants we've been to, the beach only a few blocks away, yummy pastry shop around corner, asian grocery for my asian snacks. There was free street parking which was a plus for us (pay parking across the street was one of the cheapest in town). Apartment was awesome for us: kitchen to use, locking bedroom, and laundry inside the apartment which was another plus. Our host Lauren was friendly but super busy. We had the apartment mostly to ourself. We had really informative and engaging conversations when we got to see her. Her cats were friendly and adorable as well. Thanks Lauren. We really enjoyed our stay.
Lauren was a very kind host who gave up her own bed to my partner and me for our one-night stay. THE CATS WERE THE BEST THING. They will cuddle you. The apartment was clean and well-decorated, and we had everything we needed efficiently--keys, shower, towels, fridge access, access to kittie cats. There was free parking outside when the space permitted (score!), and the neighborhood is located in a South East Asian district, so we got some bubble tea and great Vietnamese food. And Lauren even brought us a breakfast bun in the morning from a nearby bakery! She's great, her cats are the best, stay here! I'd call this overall a "best value."
Lauren was a wonderful hostess! I was made to feel at home and she was incredibly helpful to me as I tried to navigate her nieghborhood - which was also wonderful!
