Venice Beach Surfer's House w/ HTub

House - Entire home/apt · Strongs Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90291, United States

Welcome to The Surfer's Paradise with HOT TUB, a traditional 2-bedroom beach bungalow a block from the ocean! Ideally located, walk to the beach, pier, canals, bars shops n' restaurants in 2 minutes or less. Free parking, laundry, WIFI, full kitchen!

The Space

Tucked away in a lush garden property, a one-minute walk from the beach and Venice Canals, is this secluded complex of bungalows built in the 1920's. This particular home, fondly referred to as 'The Surf' due to it's beach theme has massive pine tree growing through the private patio, has 2 bedrooms (2 double-wide bunks in one bedroom and a king in the other), dining area, a 52" flat screen in the living room, full kitchen, private patio and 100 Year-Old Garden, plus reserved parking. The property has a shared washer & dryer, fire pit, BBQ, surf shower and a hot tub as well as tables and chairs throughout the gardens.
You can walk to the pier in two minutes; there is great surf north & south side, as well as a few other rad breaks up & down the beach. If you aren't a surfer, there is still waves to romp in, lots of dolphins and sea life to watch, sun-rays to catch and great views off the pier in all directions. Coming back to the bungalows, rinsing off in the outdoor surf shower in the garden, and hopping into the toasty hot tub under the canopy of leaves is just fantastic!
Or you can walk east, away from the beach, for 30 seconds, and you are at the beginning the Venice Canals Historical District. Lots of beautiful homes, birds, bridges and boats are all around you as you stroll through this famous area.
The Bungalows are located less that a block from Washington Boulevard, where you will find shops, restaurants, local markets, bars and rentals of all kinds... surfboards, bikes, paragliding and more. There is no shortage of fun activities in Venice Beach, that's for sure!

Guest Access

All the pictures posted here are spots within walking distance. The central location of these bungalows is unsurpassed, and the property is gated for privacy and safety. We gladly welcome pets and the dense garden and tub has always been a magical play-area for kids.

Interaction with Guests

Although the bungalows are on the brink of becoming a centenarian structure, they offer today's conveniences such as all the premium cable channels on flat screens, and of course, wifi.

The Neighborhood

We have always keep the bungalows stocked with a 'starter-kit' of paper goods and kitchen items such as coffee & seasonings plus towels for bath & beach, and fresh, fluffy pillows with cozy bedding on comfy beds :)

Getting around

Please make sure you have a laptop or smartphone so that you may access your reservation upon arrival with such vital information as... how to check in, wifi network and passcode, entrance to the home, check-out time and responsibilities, and so much more :) If you do not have a laptop or smartphone, please print out your itinerary before arrival, or ask me to print one for you and leave it in the home… happy to do that, but in an attempt to be as environmentally friendly as possible, I will not supply your printed itinerary unless requested at the time of booking... for the trees :)
We'd love for you to come and enjoy these unique, nearly 100-year old beach bungalows. This is truly a one-of-a-kind vacation rental in the PERFECT location!
We would be happy to adjust last-minute pricing to see 'The Surf' full of relaxing guests :)

  • We absolutely loved staying at the bungalow. It was very clean and comfortable. The backyard, grill and hot tub were great additions to an already enjoyable set-up. The location was great!

    Thanks so much, Tyler!!

  • The Venice Beach Surfer House was a perfectly located and priced accommodation for our 7 day family trip to LA. This is not a big home by any means and sharing a bathroom with my three ladies was a bit of an art / science... but the cooperative nature of Vanessa, the ease of the rental and location was all more than enough to make it worth it.

The only small issue was an unsteady internet router, and our family sure put it through the paces. with four (4) iPhones and 2 Macbooks trying to connect, it really seemed to struggle with reliability. We were continuously rebooting the router and our devices to try and make a steady connection. I suspect it was an Apple / Router thing where they didn't dislike each other, and it was only intermittent.

Some great restaurants within walking distance and amazing access to the beach for this price.

My wife and I would go back tomorrow... and just next time ditch the kids ;)

  • Everything is exactly as pictured, and the location is ideal. Vanessa was very helpful and responsive. The beds are comfy, the towels are fluffy, and there is a dedicated parking spot. Although you are steps away from Washington Ave and the beach scene, you can't hear any traffic noise at the house. It's very peaceful. Don't miss the Venice Canals. It's a great place to take a meandering walk and look at the charming gardens and architecture.

Thanks Stephanie, you guys were great!

  • The Venice Beach Surfer's House with hot tub was wonderful. The location was great--far enough off the beach to avoid the traffic and noise of the beach but close enough to walk to the beach. There are restaurants nearby if you don't want to cook--reasonably priced for the locale. A full size grocery store is a bit away but there are little markets nearby. The Venice beach pier is right there--lovely in the morning before the crowds. The place itself was clean, up to date, fluffy towels, beds were comfortable, easily adjust the theromostat to be at a comfortable temperature and the shower was fantastic! It is a bit of a walk to the nearest bus stop (at least the one we found) but tolerable. I would certainly want to rent this place again!

    Response from Vanessa:

Glad you enjoyed!! There is a major bus stop on Washington Blvd about a one-minute walk from the house, so bummed you didn't ask me!!

  • This is a charming little place. Vanessa was positive, responsive and accommodating. My friends and I enjoyed a lovely weekend here. It is in a great part of town, one block from the beach, cafes, bars and restaurants.
I will say that the house is best for close friends or family, because no noise goes unheard:) The bunk beds are squeaky and the bathroom is between the 2 rooms. Having said that, it was a great spot for a weekend and I'd definitely go back!

  • This place is fantastic, from the moment we walked in we started to chill. Plenty of space for our family of 6. The beach is a quick walk as are plenty of shops and places to eat. We hired bikes from the shop down the road and enjoyed living so close to the beach. The hot tub was a great place to unwind at the end of the day. Vanessa is very welcoming and communicative.

  • Out family of 5 (3 kids 6,7&17) stayed in surfers for 3 nights. Awesome location and a great host makes all the difference. Fully stocked with the necessities and a few unexpected luxuries (percolated coffee at the ready - perfect after a 14 hour flight) it's a great space and would recommend to those with similar or smaller families. Any more and you'll be pushed or space. Thanks Vanessa!
