Corys apartment is perfect! It's located in Romes best area (Prati). It's VERY clean, spacious, has very comfortable beds, everything functions (hot water, WLAN) and has a fully equipped kitchen. The market is just behind the building and some of Romes best restaurants and cafés are just a few minutes walk from the apartment. The communication with Cory before and during the stay was very professional. We really felt at home during the two weeks of our stay!
Cory met us at the apartment and quickly went through the apartment's details. He is friendly, and sent daily emails of weather conditions and events. The apartment is very clean and modern. The shower drain was slow, and there is no barrier to the shower and the rest of the bathroom, which can lead to some overflow. The location was very good for subway access (two blocks from Ottaviano) and literally 2 blocks from the Vatican Museum entrance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Walton apartment.
I had family come in to visit from the States, so we were extremely picky about which bnb we were going to choose. We finally agreed on Cory's listing. We were absolutely blown away, and not only because of the great apartment. Cory is extremely hospitable and went out of his way to take care of us. He responded within a half hour or less every time I would email him, even when it was late at night. We booked a transfer from Cory as well, and the drivers each time were so great. Cory's apartment was located in the heart of town and it ended up being perfect for some easy shopping, & visiting the Vatican. We took Cory's advice to walk everywhere and we are glad we did because Rome is so beautiful by foot. Cory, thank you for helping make Rome one of our best vacations yet. Thank you for being so genuine and compassionate. Also, thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful bnb. We look forward to staying with you again this summer! :))
We had a great time at Cory's apartment! He's also very easy-to-communicate, cheerful and hospitable house owner. Thanks for all the help and great service :)
Cory was wonderful host!!! The apartment is very comfortable for 4 people - 2 bedrooms and kitchen with big couch where you can rest after sightseeing and spend nice evening together. What is more its great located, only 5 minutes walk from subway and 10 minutes from St. Peter's Square.
Because of a small building fire during last night (which wasn't dangerous but it cause power outage) Cory refunded us a substantial part of the money for this night and it was very honest from his side. I can truly recommend Cory and this apartment to stay in Rome!
Really excellent stay. The apartment contains all the basics for a comfortable and secure stay, and is extremely well situated. It is near supermarkets, a market, a terrific bakery and various other useful shops. It is right near that Vatican (if that's of interest to you), but also near a metro A stop, so getting around Rome by foot or public transport is really easy from this apartment. It's a nice and safe neighbourhood, and I think it is preferable to stay in this sort of location rather than staying more central. Cory is extremely helpful and friendly, providing assistance leading up to our stay and during it. After meeting us upon initial arrival, he left us alone to do our own thing, while being contactable should we have needed anything. We especially appreciated him emailing us suggestions for things to do on days when the weather was bad! We also appreciated the airport transport service he arranged, which we felt was worth the 60 EUR for being so hassle free after a 20 hour+ flight. In summary, if you like being self-sufficient and prefer staying in a self-catered apartment rather than a hotel when you travel, then this is fantastic value for a great place to stay while exploring one of the world's most exciting cities.
We had a great stay in The Walton/Rome this September. This apartment located in the great place: near of Vatican museum and Saint Peters square, very close to metro station. Around this place there are so much restaurants and cafes. On nearby street there is food market. Shopping is also not so far from this place.
Apartment is very beautiful, bright and clean. It's a little in the deep from streets so it's very quiet. The apartment enough equipped. Here is all what you need.
We ordered transfer to the apartment. Our fly was a little late but the driver meet us in airport. He was very friendly and funny. =))
Cory is a very pleasant person. We had late check in. He meet us in the front of the building and gave us a walk through apartment. Cory has perfect English. So all was very clean.
Cory thank you very much. All was great. See you again!
Cory is a pleasant person who is knowledgeable about Rome and speaks good Italian. The apartment moreover was comfortable and well located. Speaking honestly however there were a few things which could have been better:
-the shower did not function well (very thin and low pressured stream)
-there was a lot of noise in the night (every night)
-a strange and penetrating stench (probably coming from the sewage system) was hanging in the apartment after use of toilet/shower
Also, I thought the extr fee of 25,- that had to be paid for the late check-in (we came between 20.30 and 21.00) was not really hospitable.
All in all though, a good apartment on a good location.
Hi John-Alexander, thanks for your feedback. I wish you would have mentioned these problems during your stay as I could have called a plumber to investigate. However, in response to my couple of emails/messages you only responded once saying 'all is well here!' As I take your comments seriously, I have asked both the guests before and after your stay and they mentioned no such issues. One of the guests said " In fact, I remember it being very strong pressure." Maybe you just needed to change the shower head setting which is something I would have recommended to you had you told me. Also, it sounds like any strange smell was isolated to during your stay as the guests before and after you didn't notice anything when flushing the toilet. As you mentioned in your private feedback to me it may have been coming from another apartment. I would be interested in the noises you heard every night as the apartment is in a private building located in a residential area. In regards to the late fee, it is clearly stated in the advertising as well as the house rules that the late check-in fee applies to check-ins after 20:00. You requested a check-in appointment for 21:00 consenting to the fee and continuing with making the booking. I try to be flexible with check-ins but the line has to be drawn somewhere and for me considering the low rate you rented the apartment for, I couldn't waive the fee for a check-in after hours.
A future recommendation to you would be to inform a property manager/owner during your stay rather than wait three weeks after your stay. This way any problem can be addressed immediately.
We had an excellent stay in Rome at this apartment. It is conveniently located near Vatican city and the Ottaviano metro station. We had everything we needed and everything worked. The air conditioning was especially welcomed as it was getting close to 40 degrees the days we were in Rome.
Cory was an excellent host. He met us on time, gave us a walk through of the apartment and made recommendations for places to eat. He was very proactive in communicating with us to arrange a check in time and to find out if we needed anything while we were in Rome. He also helped us arrange a shuttle to the airport.
Our only gripe was that the farmers market gets going very early (around 5am) and we could hear the noise from the main bedroom, so we would advise light sleepers to use the second bedroom.
We would highly recommend this apartment.
