Great location with access to restaurants and parks. I had elderly family stay here and it was perfect!
This was our first time staying outside of the French Quarter and absolutely loved Renee's cottage. We rented a car, which is something we never do if staying inside of the quarter. Street parking was always available and we never had a problem finding a place to park when we went to the Quarter (3 miles away). Conveniently located by City Park.
The cottage was clean and had a full kitchen. We would absolutely stay there again and have it on the list for a family member option during our wedding next year!
Retro cottage was a really nice experience. It is a few min away from the city park which is oh so pretty, and also a few min drive to french quarters. We sometimes took a taxi back and it was about $10.00. Very safe neighborhood. Upon arrival I met Renee and she was super sweet in showing me the cute cottage and the amenities. I drove from Jackson, MS and loved the fact that coffee shop was around the corner with warm quiche. Also there is a grocery store to buy things right behind the cottage which was nice.
Overall I was very happy staying here. Sheets and towels were nice and clean. There is a washer and dryer and parking was also convenient. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to live in a safe area and also have fun of french quarters. We were so glad to be able to come back to a nice quite place to sleep after spending day at french quarters or city park. Used the meditation loft about 3 times while I was there, it was so peaceful and nice.
Our family group of Grandad, 2 parents and a 2-yr-old were all happy with Renee's cozy Bayou cottage. It's not luxurious, but it is comfortable and 'homey'. The neighborhood is quiet, colorful and diverse, with established community merchants existing side-by-side with a growing 'hipster' bistro and boutique presence. New Orleans City Park is a 10-minute drive away, with lots of indoor and outdoor attractions for all ages (including fresh beignets 24/7!). Easy access to Festival grounds and the French Quarter by car and trolley, or just stroll up Esplanade to the bayou and the art museum. The cottage itself is decorated with retro tschotschkes that Renee will cheerfully sell to you (our granddaughter came away with a new stuffed animal). The premises and furnishings were clean and the appliances and fixtures were modern and in perfect working order. Having a full-sized kitchen and laundry facilities was very convenient. There's also a small fenced garden courtyard on the side of the house just right for a leisurely cup of coffee in the morning. Renee was helpful and informative when asked, but otherwise unobtrusive, so we felt as though it was 'our' place. Great value for a reasonable price -- we would definitely stay here again.
Retro cottage is wonderful and Renee is a great host. We came to stay with our two little kids, so the full kitchen and washer/dryer were essential. We used to live in the neighborhood so we knew our way around, but still had a couple of questions during our stay. Renee's responses were prompt and helpful. We will definitely be back!!
This place is ADORABLE! It is even bigger in person, and could not be located in a better place. We were able to walk to Voodoo Music Festival saving at least $60, and we had the best cafes and restaurants within a block! Even the tiny corner store market had some organic basics like eggs and milk, so we were in heaven. I hope this is available for our trip next year.
This was the first time we used Airbnb. We made a great decision. Love that the cottage was near restaurants and the bus line. It is also walking distance from City Park. All amenities in the cottage were outstanding. We will definitely be staying here again and recommend it to everyone.
Very much enjoyed our stay at Renee's The cottage was klean, kozy & kitschy. Everything we needed was there. I didn't expect a W&D but there is one. What I LOVE the most is the location/ neighborhood, quite with ample parking. You are close to the Quarter but not in the Quarter. Great coffee shop, 2 grocery stores, restaurants and City Park. During Jazz Fest you ARE at Ground Zero. I recommend and will return.
We had a fantastic time in New Orleans and Renee's place was just perfect. Even better than described. It's extremely clean, had all the elements to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We felt totally at home and Renee was very helpful and very friendly. Very handy to downtown and the bus was a short walk away along with many nice restaurants. Highly recommend!
Renee was a great hostess. She made sure I fond the place, got in okay and asked if I had everything I needed.
I loved the loft space for my art projects. Parking was not a problem a d the apartment came stocked with everything I needed to either reheat leftovers from a local place or cook on my own.
This is a fabulous find in a great location.
