Eat, drink, dance in the street, then collapse in this hidden jem of a crash pad! What a lovely stay. Great location for everything. Quiet, clean, safe and privacy ensuite with sitting room and futon 1 block from Frenchmen and 1 block from Esplanade. Virginia is a gracious host right next door and stocked the room with some convenient dry snacks, coffee, tea, and water (very important for any festival goer). AC and small fan going together would block out any noise from the city life or passers-by. Definitely coming back!! Best Dinner places minutes walking distance -recommend Three Muses off Frenchmen (but get there early) and Mona Lisa Italian restaurant off Royal. Please get to Fritzel's off Bourbon for "grown up" sit down old world Jazz bar. Enjoy Spotted Cat off Frenchmen for the hipster vibe.
We had a wonderful stay at Virginia's place! The location is perfect. We would have been content to stay in the neighborhood our whole stay, but it also a quick walk to the streetcar and we had no trouble calling cabs and getting them quickly. The house was adorable, and had everything we needed. The bed and the futon were both very comfortable, we slept 4 comfortably. Virginia was helpful with all of our needs, and was easily accessible and quick to respond. Any questions we had were responded to via text or email within moments. I will be recommending Virginia's place to all of my friends and certainly plan to stay there again!
I love, love, loved Virgina and her place in Marginy. Just a few steps from great authentic New Orleans cuisine, lots of great street music and just a short walk into the French Quarter, it was the perfect location. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hot water for showers - just really perfect in every way!
Thank you, Virginia!
Great neighborhood, with amazing music just around the corner on Frenchman Street.
Virginia was a very friendly, helpful host, with great tips on restaurants and live music venues.
Due to the window treatments, which were not set up to be opened, the two room unit is a bit dark, despite new track lighting. Consequently, the rooms do not feel as bright as the photos show.
The bathroom would benefit from wall patching and a fresh coat of paint.
Virginia helped us enjoy our stay, which included a cold spell that shut down the city for two days. We appreciated the big screen TV and Netflix; we watched eight episodes of House of Cards!
I had very light curtains which let the light in until the guests complained that it was too light. Guests put a hole in the bathroom while I was in the hosipital and I have not been able to fix it yet. I take great pride in making sure my guest are comfortable and well taken care of which I did for you too. It sounds like the weather put a damper in your vacation and you are taking it out on my property. I even let you stay in my house for free because the weather ruined you plans.
As many others have said, Virginia is a delightful, generous host. She lives right next door and responds immediately to any questions, and she's a fountain of information about the city. The little house is charming, comfortable, clean, and very conveniently located. It's wonderful being around the corner from Frenchman Street with all its activity, and at the same time living on a block that is quiet and residential. This was our first trip to New Orleans and we felt perfectly situated.
As all the other reviews state--the location is amazing and the house is super cute. I stayed with my family and it was a small space for four adults but we spent most of the time out and about and found it really comfortable for sleeping. I would definitely recommend to folks and would stay again!
Virginia's place is very well located, right in the middle of French Quarter and the Frenchmen St. (much better than staying close to the noisy Bourbon St).
The space was just what we needed and was more than enough even when my brother joined us for 2 nights. I'd definitely recommend it!
We had a wonderful time at Virginia's BnoB! I knew it was going to be a great stay as soon as we arrived and could hear a brass band playing around the corner. Clean, comfortable, and spacious rooms. Virginia's daughter Nicole gave us great suggestions on where to eat and see live music. Perfect walking distance to the French Quarter. All around fantastic. Note: we were two women staying solo and did not have any problems walking to and from the BnoB at all hours.
We had a wonderful stay at Marginy BnoB! The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and had all the necessities (mini-fridge, coffee and tea, microwave, heat and AC). The location was EXCELLENT - so close to great music, shopping and food!
First of all say thanks to Nicole (Virginia's daughter), she gave us great suggestions on where to go, where to eat, where to listen to good music... Definitely she was very helpful during our stay in NOLA.
The apartment is GREAT, we stayed 3 night and we were four people. Perfectly located, great beds, charming and warm place because it's a traditional NOLA house.
It would be better if it had a small kitchen, but it is not a problem if your stay is for less than a week.
It was perfect for our stay in NOLA.
Thanks again :)
