Virginia is wonderful! I had some flight issues and was supposed to arrive at five o'clock. We texted during this time and I let her know when I finally got into New Orleans. Unfortunately, I didn't get in until midnight and she was so gracious and patient with me, she still showed me where everything was in the apartment.
The place is wonderful and looks exactly how it does in the pictures. I couldn't figure out how to open the window shades and it got a little dark (which is nice on the HOT days) but if you aren't really inside much, it really doesn't matter. I'm from Seattle so I like some reassurance that the sun is still there when I get up :). There was a coffee maker (with coffee and all of the amenities), a little refrigerator and a big jug of water (so necessary!!). She also had toiletries for you, in case you run out or forget and nice fresh towels. The sheets and bedding were sooo soft and the bed very comfortable, it was hard to get up in the morning. I must also mention that the place was CLEAN. I mean, very clean and you can tell that Virginia cares about her place.
The location was AMAZING. It was close to every single thing I wanted to do: running, parks, food, live music, great coffee and of course shopping and the French Quarter.
Even though I only saw Virginia a few times, I am so thankful for her being my host after such a long ordeal! You can tell she put thought into your needs. She also let me check out late due to my late flight. My taxi came a little early so I didn't get to say goodbye. Anyway, I highly recommend her to anybody who is looking for a place in the Marginy.
Thanks again for your hospitality and I hope to visit again soon!
We had a fantastic three-night stay here! The room was just as described and spotless, and Virginia was a friendly, welcoming and accommodating host when we arrived early. We were also able to leave our luggage in the room while we went out for brunch on our check-out day.
The location is perfect - in a quiet neighborhood but steps away from the party. I much preferred staying here than in the Bourbon Street hotel I stayed in last time I was in New Orleans.
We had a really good time in Virigina's place. Perfect spot if you'd like to visit the french quarter and listen to some music in frenchman street at night ! We've also really enjoyed one of the restaurant that Virgina advised us : Port of a call. A must go if you like burgers and coktails (aaaaah the neptune !). Good to see that wifi and netflix was free of access. Thanks again to Virgina for her appartment !
I stayed at Virginia's place in Marginy for 10 nights and had a wonderful time. Virginia was very welcoming and helpful and gave me some good suggestions for things to do and places to visit during my stay. The house is exactly as described and is very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect....around the corner from Frenchman Street, an easy walk to the French Quarter, and walking distance to the trolley car if you don't want to walk too far. I spent some time there on my own and felt quite safe. I would happily stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay at this BnoB and Virginia was a great host. The apartment was clean and cozy, with fridge/microwave/coffee machine. It's in a great, quiet neighborhood where you can walk to anywhere in the French Quarter. We definitely recommend this spot!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at marignybnob and will certainly visit again, (maybe with less rain, but Virginia provided us plastic panchos and camp chairs to help out and many years of NOLA experience). The clean and quiet location was scant minutes from the Mint and French Mkt (NE) end of the river trolley, also just steps away from the Frenchman St shops and jazz. (Cake Cafe-the best breakfast!) We slept better than we have ever slept in the high queen poster bed . No breakfast, but abundant coffee, tea and snacks (Zapps chips are our fave now.) Everything else you could want (save Kleenex) and Virginia let our bags stay past check-out until our airport cab came (ask for Sgt. Waller with United for quick drive and NOLA stories.)

About the Host, Virginia
I am and have been a “New Orleans Public School Teacher” for 27 years. I have 3 children and 1 grandchild. I own a double shotgun house in New Orleans.
I converted part of it as a bedroom for my daughter. When she moved out I converted to a Bed no Breakfast. I look forward to meeting new people with this new venue.
