Absolutely fantastic location. We we're steps from Frenchmen St, and the French Quarter was an easy 5-10 min walk. The house was neat, clean, cool, and comfortable. We will definitely try to stay here again the next time we visit New Orleans.
Virginia was an awesome host. She told us about a few local things (like a crawfish boil) that we absolutely loved. She made sure to welcome us, and then gave us our space to roam around. Her place is perfect. Located less than a block from Frenchment street, which in my opinion is much better than Bourbon St. It had more of a local flare and less neon. We were able to walk everywhere in the French Quarter from her place. I would highly recommend Virginia and her bungalow as a place to stay.
Virginia was a most wonderful host, really couldn't ask for any better and really beats staying in any of the hotels. The location to Frenchman Street was icing on the cake!
We had a fabulous time in NOLA which was made even better by our awesome host and great place to stay. Exactly as pictured. Virginia was there to meet us when we arrived and had a little info pack which helped us out. Awesome bed soooooo comfortable and heaps of pillows. Felt like a mini hotel stay with a few extra goodies. Couldnt fault it. Thanks for your southern hospitality!
The Marginy house was exactly as described and absolutely perfect for our trip. I was attending a conference at the Convention Center and it was only a short walk to public transit to the Center. By night everything from local bars, great restaurants, big bands and even bourbon street are within easy walking distance. Cannot recommend enough-we loved it here and will definitely stay on our return trip!
Virginia is wonderful! I had some flight issues and was supposed to arrive at five o'clock. We texted during this time and I let her know when I finally got into New Orleans. Unfortunately, I didn't get in until midnight and she was so gracious and patient with me, she still showed me where everything was in the apartment.
The place is wonderful and looks exactly how it does in the pictures. I couldn't figure out how to open the window shades and it got a little dark (which is nice on the HOT days) but if you aren't really inside much, it really doesn't matter. I'm from Seattle so I like some reassurance that the sun is still there when I get up :). There was a coffee maker (with coffee and all of the amenities), a little refrigerator and a big jug of water (so necessary!!). She also had toiletries for you, in case you run out or forget and nice fresh towels. The sheets and bedding were sooo soft and the bed very comfortable, it was hard to get up in the morning. I must also mention that the place was CLEAN. I mean, very clean and you can tell that Virginia cares about her place.
The location was AMAZING. It was close to every single thing I wanted to do: running, parks, food, live music, great coffee and of course shopping and the French Quarter.
Even though I only saw Virginia a few times, I am so thankful for her being my host after such a long ordeal! You can tell she put thought into your needs. She also let me check out late due to my late flight. My taxi came a little early so I didn't get to say goodbye. Anyway, I highly recommend her to anybody who is looking for a place in the Marginy.
Thanks again for your hospitality and I hope to visit again soon!

About the Host, Virginia
I am and have been a “New Orleans Public School Teacher” for 27 years. I have 3 children and 1 grandchild. I own a double shotgun house in New Orleans.
I converted part of it as a bedroom for my daughter. When she moved out I converted to a Bed no Breakfast. I look forward to meeting new people with this new venue.
