Lelia and her family are very friendly and openminded people. Their dog Snowflake is adorable. From the room you have a really nice view over the ocean and a comfortable bed in there. It is a very nice but also very remote location which you can only really enjoy if you are travelling by car. The buses in the area don't go often and are quite expensive so it is hard to get around without a car. If you ask the host they are glad to help you out whenever they have time. The problem is there are no real restaurants near by and you can't cook your own meals at home because you are generally not allowed to use the kitchen for cooking (only for tea or coffee) although the discription promises one. Lelia makes a delicious breakfast.
hele schattige en rustige kamer vlak bij de zee, heerlijk geslapen, vriendelijke hosts, fijne wandelingen met de hond en de hond van de buren richting de zee.
We absolutely loved our time at Lelia's home! We felt welcome and at home very quickly. She offered us tea and coffee when we got there, we enjoyed conversation with her but she also respected our space. The room and bed were awesome. And the beach is right down the road and the walk to it is lovely. They set up a small breakfast for us every morning and took great care of us. I highly recommend this place! Thank you!
This host is near the sea and a good place to start a connemara trip. The room is simple and clean. we had some trouble with the toiletflush, but that should be easy to repair. Leila was a good host and the breakfast was great with selfbaked scones and fresh strawberries.
Leila was gracious from the start, accepting our reservation when another had fallen through. She was also very accommodating about our somewhat quirky schedule. The bed was very comfortable and the location lovely; perfect for catching the ferry to the Aran Islands. I agree with another review; this is an Airbnb for very relaxed guests, not for those for whom neatness is a priority.
Warm, country home on the coast with great hosts and a lovely breakfast in the morning. Lelia had a wonderful sense of humour and was a pleasure to talk to. The animals around the property were very friendly, especially Snowflake the dog.
About the Host, Lelia
I live by the sea in Inverin, Connemara, or as it is known locally Cois Fhairrige.. I spent many years as a handweaver and in recent years i earned a degree in textiles / sculpture here in Galway. We keep an organic garden and also have our own orchard. We spend nearly eight months of the year out and about, working the garden, saving turf, traipsing up and down to the beach which the dog adores, going on rambles, finding artistic inspiration .
