Galway International Arts Festival coming soon. Be on hand for some amazing events, fun and entertainment. Then slip away to a peaceful location by the sea on the Wild Atlantic Way to rest ....before going back for more. A large garden to sit in. Beautiful inspiring landscape

The space

Our house is in an area named Minna, Inverin which is on the coast road, the R336,in a rural setting yet only a straight run of 40 minutes from Galway and Spiddal village just 15 minutes away whete there is a great festival of the arts and traditional music at the end of June,in Connemara on the shores of Galway Bay , and the sea/beach is just at the end of our road. It is our family home and we are a creative group of people. I work in Arts and Crafts, We have an organic garden and orchard, and we also have three cats and a dog so this keeps us busy. . Our house is filled with art, colour, warmth, and is peaceful. This is an inspiring landscape for artists, poets, writers, musicians and anyone moved to create.

The room has a double bed, and plenty of storage with an open plan wardrobe and chest of drawers with a shared bathroom.

We'll provide tea, coffee, free range eggs, juice and toast for breakfast, but we're open to other arrangements by request.

As for local attractions, we are very near the airport that services the Aran islands and also near the port for getting a ferry to the islands. In the nearby fishing village of Spiddal there is a craft village where traditional crafts such as weaving and pottery may also have a contemporary twist or prehaps get a unique irish language print t shirt and finish up with a visit to the cafe. Walk along the bog roads with stunning vista of the Twelve Pins mountains range. We are about an hours drive from Connemara National Park. In nearby Leenane there are great seaweed baths ,perfect after a days hiking !There are also great walks to be taken on the sea shore There are plenty of friendly pubs, music, places to eat. a beach nearby for swimming, fishing from the shore or a chance to go on a boat from Spiddal which is just 13 kilometers away. There is a bus service which takes about 40 minutes, but occasionally faster depending on traffic.

We would recommend this location highly. It's location is secluded, quiet, peaceful, but a quick walk to the ocean. It is also a quick drive to nearby Spiddal and shops and restaurants. Mike and Lelia are great hosts, very laid back and willing to help with directions, advice, or just some lively conversation.

Wonderful couple and a great location near the water. We loved the small town Irish hospitality. The room was comfortable and the breakfast area has a wonderful view of the water. Highly recommended.

Where do I start with Lelia's home...warm, eclectic, welcoming, unique, colorful, picturesque, immaculately clean, wonderful smelling. We never had the pleasure of meeting Lelia's husband, but Lelia was a delight. Unfortunately we made it more difficult with communication because we didn't have phone service, but Lelia got home just as wel turned in the driveway. She was a little shy at first but once we started talking, especially talking about books, we became quick friends. It was a wonderful, yet too short, time getting to know her. She is an artist, which shows, her sunroom is a dream for anyone who loves the outdoors, and she seems to dabble in aromatherapy which means that her house smells absolutely incredible. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we had fun looking at her book collection. The small breakfast was beautiful and much welcomed each morning...everything tastes so much better when you are looking at beautiful scenery. We wish we could've spent more time with Lelia, her wonderful son Connell, their dog and cats, and the house but we were gone most of the days and didn't stay long. Wonderful stay and want to go back

Lelia and Mike were kind and friendly - they made us feel at home and were great conversationalists. Their house was very close to a beach, and there were pleasant walks to take in every direction. We didn't have a car, but it might be easier if you had one for staying here, since a number of shops/bars/restaurants/etc can take a while to walk to. We didn't mind the walking, though, since it was such a beautiful area!

The best place we stayed in Ireland! We wish we would have spent more time there. A very cozy house that is aesthetically pleasing with its unique art and bright colors. There is an amzing view of the ocean from her sun room, and the beach is only a short walk away. Lelia is friendly and has a soothing personality.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Lelia and Mike's home! It's a beautiful and comfortable home and breakfast was excellent! :) We really enjoyed being outside of Galway for our accommodation and being so close to the ocean! Their dog Snowflake lead us down the road to the ocean and back multiple times! We had very nice conversations learning about Ireland with great recommendations of places to go/directions! Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our time at Lelia's home! We felt welcome and at home very quickly. She offered us tea and coffee when we got there, we enjoyed conversation with her but she also respected our space. The room and bed were awesome. And the beach is right down the road and the walk to it is lovely. They set up a small breakfast for us every morning and took great care of us. I highly recommend this place! Thank you!

We live in Inverin on the Wild Atlantic Way right by the sea known locally as Cois Fhairrige.. I have worked as a handweaver and in recent years earned a degree in textiles / sculpture here in Galway. Most recently i have worked in film as a costume assistant. We keep an organic garden and also have our own orchard. We spend nearly eight months of the year out and about, working the garden, saving turf, traipsing up and down to the beach which the dog adores, going on rambles, finding artistic inspiration . I am an avid reader, love films, gathering together with friends for food ,wine and chat. Going for long walks on the shore.Ours is a relaxed family home .
