Our house is in Connemara, and the sea/beach is just at the end of our road. We have an organic garden and orchard, and we also have two cats and a dog. Our house is colourful, warm, and peaceful.
The room has a double bed, and plenty of storage with an open plan wardrobe and chest of drawers with a shard bathroom.
We'll provide tea, coffee, and toast for breakfast, but we're open to other arrangements by request.
As for local attractions, we are very near the airport that services the Aran islands and also near the port for getting a ferry to the islands. There are also great walks to be taken on the shore or up on the bog where we save the turf for winter fuel. There are plenty of friendly pubs, music, etc. Galway is just 18 miles away, and there is a bus service which takes about 40 minutes, but occasionally faster depending on traffic.
Great stay, really friendly and nice host/family. It couldn't be better. Thanks so much!
Perfect location for going to the Aran Islands by air (highly recommended, airport next door, 8 min flight) or by ferry.
Myself and my partner stayed with Lelia at the end of a wet January. We were warmly welcomed with a cup of tea, a chat and cuddles from Snowflake, their sweet dog. The house was warm and the atmosphere very relaxed and easy going. We enjoyed a breakfast of eggs and McCambridges bread and lovely coffee. The local pub Tir na nOig also took care of our evening meals next to their cosy stove.
Very good stay in Leila's home.
An unbelievable view on the sea, on the Aran Islands and the cliffs of Moher by the window of the room.
A wonderfull place to visite the Connemara and the Aran Islands.
Leila and Mick are very kind and make you feel confortable as you are at home.
We had an outstanding time at Lelia's house. Snowflake leading our walk on the shore, the comfortable room, the breakfast in the conservatory with the amazing view...
This really is the place we regretted the most to leave during our stay in Ireland.
Lelia and her family were wonderful hosts, they have a beautiful, warm home by the sea, they helped wherever they could and served delicious breakfasts.
i will not forget sitting on the patio, in the warm sun, enjoying the views and the surrounding nature while eating breakfast.
thank you for that!
The room was really nice, and if you want a litte time to relax this small town is the right place! It's a very beautiful place! The breakfast was good espaccily the fresh eggs from their own hens. But we didn't feel so welcome and were a bit shocked, when we were asked to leave the house when the whole family did. That's nothing we know from other hosts.
Leila and mike are sweet couple.Leila was understanding when we were over an hour late during our meetup. Her house had a warm welcoming vibe, especially Snowflake's greetings. The room was spacious with a great view of the beach. I liked the color choice of the floor and the towels! Aqua blue. Shared bathroom with the family, which was not a problem. Comfortable bed and had a bowl of fruits in the room too! Oh and we recommend the pub down the street from their house! Had great food with interesting customers too :) Thanks for a nice stay!.
This was our first Air B&B experience and it went just great. Lelia and Mike were very gracious hosts and live in a cute house in a stunning area. We packed a picnic and walked 5 minutes down the road to watch the sun set over a beautiful rocky beach. Comfortable, cozy place, nothing super fancy. Lelia and Mike made us a great breakfast in the morning and we didn't want to leave since we were having such nice conversation. It's a little extra hike to get here from Galway, but super worth it.
We loved our stay at Lelia's & Mike. They are very friendly, the room is big and tidy and the situation of the house is perfect if you want to start a trip around Connemara or to visit the Aran islands. I will strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for accomodation in Connemara.
Leila and Mike are wonderful, laid back hosts. There room they offer is very comfortable and has a spectacular view of the ocean. As we were very lucky with the weather, we could even see across the bay of Galway to the Cliffs of Moher. Leila and Mike also went out of their way to make my 2-year-old son feel right at home. Thanks.
