Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Located on the bank of the Vedder river near Chilliwack B.C., our family cabin for more than 50 years, is only a short drive from the city. Superb in season salmon river fishing, with lakes and trails nearby. While the summer months are the most popular, garden lovers will appreciate the months of April and May and the burst of colour.

The space
Our cabin is small and cosy with an outdoor, park-like environment. It is solid red cedar construction with a large deck. Beautiful gardens, especially in spring, and good late summer and fall fishing right from the front of the property. There is a large fire pit overlooking the river with inexpensive firewood available nearby. Advertised here as a two bedroom, the second is small with a double bed and no closet. The cabin is heated by gas fireplace (thermostat control) and separately controlled baseboard heaters in the bedrooms. The cabin is not suitable for more than four people.

Guest access
Parking is under the large tree on the left side of the property when driving in. Please do not proceed past this point. There is enough space for two vehicles. There are no restricted areas and the neighbours are friendly. Small children must be accompanied near the river bank. During spring run-off and winter downpours the river is dangerous. Use all common-sense cautions.

Other things to note
The kitchen is fully equipped. Coffee maker, grinder (plus a spare!), blender, toaster, microwave, and a large selection of kitchen wares. Basic condiments are also in stock. The only supplies not available to guests are in the freezer (except ice of course). Please: these items are not "to go", we rely on them too. If you use something up, please let me know before you leave so I can bring more along.
There are extra towels, pillows and warmer bedding. Down quilts in are in the living room box/table. We think you will find just about anything you are looking for, if you look hard enough. There is a gas barbecue. Please insure that it is cleaned after use. Food scraps and a dirty cooking grate will attract rodents, raccoons and bears in late summer. Campfire wood is available just down the street (go right) See Dana and Rick at 49322. I want to caution against purchasing firewood from the place close to the Vedder bridge with the large signs. Wood is not dry and will not burn. Please do not use our firewood.
Please remove shoes and boots in the bedrooms.
There is a carbon monoxide detector on the hutch beside the television. Please do not unplug it if you are plugging in any of your own T.V. equipment.

Neighborhood highlights

We are located in a small subdivision along the Vedder river. Some of our neighbours live here year round and are friendly and knowledgeable. Cultus and Chilliwack lakes are nearby. The Trans Canada trail passes on the opposite side of the river and there are numerous other hikes in the area. Good shopping is available in Sardis, ten minutes to town. More shopping in Chilliwack, twenty minutes to town.

I am a big Airbnb fan, and have been both a guest and host. I have a small riverside cabin near Chilliwack British Columbia where I have been hosting people for seven years. I live in Vancouver, B.C. and Puerto Vallarta Mexico. My favorite travel destinations are just about anywhere in Mexico and South America where I have traveled extensively. I do not enjoy the huge 'all inclusive experience at all, preferring to put myself in to places where I will meet local people. I speak some Spanish, certainly enough to get around anyway :)
