Our guests consistently say "it's like coming home" when staying at the Little House. Quiet, relaxing, clean and comfortable, the Little House (with a sparkling clean hot tub) is your private sanctuary close to everything in Bend!
May is almost full, a few days are still open in June, and July and August are full (wow)! We hope you'll come to Bend and visit the Little House :)
We so appreciate you taking the time to see what the Little House has to offer you. We are pleased to share our private enclave with you, and look forward to you being our guest. Most of our guests say "it's like coming home" when staying at the Little House. In fact, one of the best compliments we can get is when guests choose to "stay home" at the LH because "it's so relaxing."
The Little House at Duck Hollow is a fully-furnished, self-catering guest house located near the heart of Bend, Oregon. Your accommodations (almost 600 sq. ft) include a private entrance and parking for 2 cars (directly in front of the LH, not on the street), a full kitchen, with range, refrigerator and dining area, a library/2nd semi-private sleeping area for one person, and a spacious master bedroom. The Little House fits 3 people comfortably. The hot tub is just steps from your front door. All of this, and less than 5 minutes to downtown Bend (where every hour is happy hour and every night is Friday night).
The Little House is a whimsical, serene enclave in an edgy, diverse neighborhood ...and is amazingly convenient to everything Bend and Central Oregon have to offer! There are many entertainment options within walking distance, and many more just a short drive away. Depending on your season of choice, the Little House is also the perfect place to relax after climbing, running, hiking, biking, fishing, birding, or whatever..... :)
We want your stay to be as peaceful, or as adventurous, as you want it to be. Let us know your interests, and we'll have recommendations available. We've been blessed with our guests, who say and write kind words about their experience at the Little House. And the best compliments we get are unsaid, unwritten, when our guests prefer to relax at the LH rather than go out for the day. Pretty cool.
The Little House is within a fully-fenced area, so it is very safe and private. Robes are available for guests, as are shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, lotion, etc.
We have a washer/dryer available in the main house for guests who stay at least 4 nights.
Duck Hollow is a proud contributor of Transient Room Tax, supporting regional tourism.
Guests have private access to the Little House, and the hosts do not use the deck, courtyard or hot tub (other than for maintenance, sweeping the patio, or feeding the birds) while guests are at the LH.
Interaction with Guests
We love to meet our guests upon arrival to make sure they will be comfortable. We are available for questions or help, but we do not hover. We live next door to the Little House, but try hard to never intrude on our guests' privacy.
Our neighborhood is eclectic and diverse, centrally located, and just minutes from downtown and all major roadways. We have a great brewery (Crux), along with MANY restaurants, (including a new, very good, little Salvadoran cafe) within walking distance.
Public transit is a few blocks away. Taxis are abundant and affordable, and highly recommended if you're planning a night on the town :)
Other Things to Note
Dogs ($10 per night): Small, well-behaved dogs are allowed with prior okay from your hosts, and must be supervised at all times.
Toddlers ($10 per night): Parents bringing your young children, please be advised that they will be considered an "extra person" when booking. Respect our neighbors, respect our stuff.
Smoking is allowed outside only.
Please be judicious with use of wine, oils and lotions around the bedding.
We are environmentally conscious. Conservation, composting, and recycling are part of the experience.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and it was a extremely positive experience. Kevin and Debby were wonderful hosts. Their little house was clean and almost felt like you were in a cabin. The hot tub was clean and wonderful to have after mountain biking and driving all day. I would highly recommend Kevin and Debby's Little House.
This listing was very accurate and the hosts are very welcoming and full of information about the local area. The place is cozy and the hot tub is so nice after a day full of adventure!
Debby and Kevin are great hosts. We had a wonderful time staying at Duck Hollow. The place is spacious, clean and quiet. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Bend.
We had a wonderful stay at Duck Hollow! Deb and Kev have thought of all the little touches that make your stay special (robes, growlers to borrow, an "events" calendar of things going on in town during your stay, etc.). They are full of great recommendations if you are looking for things to do, but respect your space at the same time. Duck Hollow has everything you need and is a very large space for two people. We were very comfortable and loved the location - it is easy to get to both downtown and the Old Mill District. There are also a handful of places within easy walking distance. The hot tub was especially great after a long day of Spring skiing at Bachelor. I would definitely stay again!
We loved staying with Debby and Kevin. They are warm and welcoming hosts. The space was very clean and felt private. We will definitely come back!
Debbie and Kevin greeted us when we first arrived, showed us around Duck Hollow, and made us feel welcome right from the start. Their cozy unit provided everything we could have needed or wanted for our trip to Bend. Convenient location, easy to access, plenty of privacy, couldn't have asked for more.
Debby and Kevin were great, they were very accommodating, we arrived late in the evening, and our friend arrived before us and it all worked out smoothly. The house was bigger than the pictures make it seem and is very clean and cozy. Bed was very comfortable. Kevin went above and beyond and even gave my husband a lift up to the mountain in the morning so me and our baby could stay in bed and have the car for the day. Great experience.
Thanks so much for the kind words, and for the goodies from your farm (Open Air Farms, Fort Dick, CA - couldn't resist letting everyone know)! We're still having lovely salads and stir fry from the organic bounty you brought us! We hope y'all will visit again someday :)
We are easy-going baby boomers. Kevin is involved in environmental and social issues, and Debby is a mental health counselor. We moved from Colorado to Bend in order to be closer to the outdoor activities we adore (skiing, kayaking, hiking, biking, etc.). We've made lifestyle decisions that give us more opportunity to choose play over work, so we consider ourselves quite brilliant :)
We love to laugh, and have an optimistic view of living life. If there's a silver lining, we'll find it.
Our goal is to share what we know about the Central Oregon experience, and guide our guests, when asked. Bend and the surrounding areas have everything you need to experience fun, excitement, and serenity. We have it all!
