Our guests consistently say "it's like coming home" when staying at the Little House. Quiet, relaxing, clean and comfortable, the Little House (with a sparkling clean hot tub) is your private sanctuary close to everything in Bend!
March only has a few days left open, April and May are filling up fast, and summer and fall are starting to book (wow!). And don't forget (per Kev) that late season snow (April - May) on Mt. Bachelor is amazing!
We so appreciate you taking the time to see what the Little House has to offer you.
We are pleased to share our private enclave with you, and look forward to you being our guest. Most of our guests say "it's like coming home" when staying at the Little House. In fact, one of the best compliments we can get is when guests choose to "stay home" at the LH because "it's so relaxing."
The Little House at Duck Hollow is a fully-furnished, self-catering guest house located near the heart of Bend, Oregon. Your accommodations (almost 600 sq. ft) include a private entrance and parking for 2 cars, a full kitchen, with range, refrigerator and dining area, a library/2nd semi-private sleeping area for one person, and a spacious master bedroom. The Little House fits 3 people comfortably. The hot tub is just steps from your front door. All of this, and less than 5 minutes to downtown Bend (where every hour is happy hour and every night is Friday night), and 30 minutes to Mt. Bachelor!
The Little House is a whimsical, peaceful enclave in an edgy, "blue collar" neighborhood ...and is amazingly convenient to everything Bend and Central Oregon have to offer! There are many entertainment options within walking distance, and many more just a short drive away. Depending on your season of choice, the Little House is also the perfect place to relax after skiing, climbing, hiking, snowshoeing, fishing, or birding.
We want your stay to be as peaceful, or as adventurous, as you want it to be. Let us know your interests, and we'll have recommendations available. We've been blessed with our guests, who say and write kind words about their experience at the Little House. And the best compliments we get are unsaid, unwritten, when our guests prefer to relax at the LH rather than go out for the day. Pretty cool :)
The Little House is within a fully-fenced area, so it is very safe and private. Robes are available for guests, as are shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, lotion, etc. Kev just installed the ski rack! SO excited about snow!
We have a washer/dryer available in the main house for guests who stay at least 4 nights.
Duck Hollow is a proud contributor of Transient Room Tax, supporting regional tourism.
Guests have private access to the Little House, and the hosts do not use the deck, courtyard or hot tub (other than for maintenance, sweeping the patio, or feeding the birds) while guests are at the LH.
Interaction with Guests
We love to meet our guests upon arrival to make sure they will be comfortable. We are available for questions or help, but we do not hover. We live next door to the Little House, but try hard to never intrude on our guests' privacy.
Our neighborhood is eclectic and diverse, centrally located, and just minutes from downtown and all major roadways. We have a great brewery (Crux), along with MANY restaurants, (including a new, very good, little Salvadoran cafe) within walking distance.

This was my 3rd stay at The Little House at Duck Hollow. Deb and Kevin are always very gracious hosts. The space is always spotless and inviting. Every time I visit, The Sparrow Bakery and Crux Brewpub seem closer!
Kevin and Debby were absolutely amazing. My husband and I came to Duck Hollow for our honeymoon. They were both very hospitable, and knowledgeable about the town and mountain. The cabin was amazing, and it was awesome having the hot tub right out the door. The cabin was very close to anything we wanted to do in town. One of the nights we went to dinner at Blacksmith where Kevin and Debby played amazing music. I highly recommend this cabin!
My girlfriend and I spent the weekend in Bend for our anniversary and had an unforgettable time. Staying at the Little House was definitely a key component, and we will definitely be looking to book with Debby and Kevin (DK) the next time we come around.
On the space: Much larger than it seems in the listing, and the hot tub was a godsend after a day of skiing. Kitchen is well stocked and suited all of our morning coffee/breakfast (website hidden) live admittedly as "off the beaten trail" as you can get in the center of Bend, which was great for our getaway. The restaurants nearby weren't extensively rated, but they had the most character of anywhere we went. The Mexican restaurant on the corner had the cheapest draft beer price around and stayed open an hour after their closing time to accommodate incoming guest! What's more, having Crux brewery within walking distance trumped any of argument for staying on the more popular westside.
On our hosts: DK are probably the most gracious, knowledgable and pleasant hosts you could hope for. They were just the right balance of enthusiastically helpful and mindful of our privacy. Kevin is an excellent resource for learning cherished local secrets (ski/hike spots, restaurants, etc.) and practically planned our entire weekend in the course of a 15-minute chat. Debby clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making our time in the Little House feel very special. You really couldn't ask for more considerate and personalized accommodations.
Judy and I were greeted by Debby who showed us around, and how everything worked, including the hot tub "Yea". They left us a great bottle of wine, which we enjoyed while hot tubbing. The neighborhood was very quiet. Kevin later gave me all the info on snowshoeing in the area, and we had a great time snowshoeing the next day. all the info where to eat, drink, listen to music was provided. Great Hosts Thanks Joe and Judy
The Little House at Duck Hollow was great. Deb and Kev were very gracious hosts who have put a lot of thought into making your stay a very positive one. The location was great. You could walk to various places to eat and drink, or downtown was just a short drive away. My wife and I love coming to Bend and would be happy to stay here again.
We really loved this unique spot, centrally located in Bend. It was better than described really and more spacious than expected. Nothing but positive things to say about Deb and Kevin's place. We recommend it and hope to stay again sometime. Be sure to try the Mexican restaurant down the street; yum!
We are easy-going baby boomers. Kevin is involved in environmental and social issues, and Debby is a mental health counselor. We moved from Colorado to Bend in order to be closer to the outdoor activities we adore (skiing, kayaking, hiking, biking, etc.). We've made lifestyle decisions that give us more opportunity to choose play over work, so we consider ourselves quite brilliant :)
We love to laugh, and have an optimistic view of living life. If there's a silver lining, we'll find it.
Our goal is to share what we know about the Central Oregon experience, and guide our guests, when asked. Bend and the surrounding areas have everything you need to experience fun, excitement, and serenity. We have it all!
