Our guests consistently say "it's like coming home" when staying at the Little House. Quiet, relaxing, clean and comfortable, the Little House (with a sparkling clean hot tub) is your private sanctuary close to everything in Bend!
April is almost full! May is filling up fast, and summer and fall are starting to book like crazy (wow!). And don't forget (per Kev) that late season snow (March, April and May) on Mt. Bachelor can be amazing!
We so appreciate you taking the time to see what the Little House has to offer you.
We are pleased to share our private enclave with you, and look forward to you being our guest. Most of our guests say "it's like coming home" when staying at the Little House. In fact, one of the best compliments we can get is when guests choose to "stay home" at the LH because "it's so relaxing."
The Little House at Duck Hollow is a fully-furnished, self-catering guest house located near the heart of Bend, Oregon. Your accommodations (almost 600 sq. ft) include a private entrance and parking for 2 cars, a full kitchen, with range, refrigerator and dining area, a library/2nd semi-private sleeping area for one person, and a spacious master bedroom. The Little House fits 3 people comfortably. The hot tub is just steps from your front door. All of this, and less than 5 minutes to downtown Bend (where every hour is happy hour and every night is Friday night), and 30 minutes to Mt. Bachelor!
The Little House is a whimsical, peaceful enclave in an edgy, diverse neighborhood ...and is amazingly convenient to everything Bend and Central Oregon have to offer! There are many entertainment options within walking distance, and many more just a short drive away. Depending on your season of choice, the Little House is also the perfect place to relax after skiing, climbing, hiking, snowshoeing, fishing, or birding.
We want your stay to be as peaceful, or as adventurous, as you want it to be. Let us know your interests, and we'll have recommendations available. We've been blessed with our guests, who say and write kind words about their experience at the Little House. And the best compliments we get are unsaid, unwritten, when our guests prefer to relax at the LH rather than go out for the day. Pretty cool :)
The Little House is within a fully-fenced area, so it is very safe and private. Robes are available for guests, as are shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, lotion, etc.
We have a washer/dryer available in the main house for guests who stay at least 4 nights.
Duck Hollow is a proud contributor of Transient Room Tax, supporting regional tourism.
Guests have private access to the Little House, and the hosts do not use the deck, courtyard or hot tub (other than for maintenance, sweeping the patio, or feeding the birds) while guests are at the LH.
Interaction with Guests
We love to meet our guests upon arrival to make sure they will be comfortable. We are available for questions or help, but we do not hover. We live next door to the Little House, but try hard to never intrude on our guests' privacy.
Our neighborhood is eclectic and diverse, centrally located, and just minutes from downtown and all major roadways. We have a great brewery (Crux), along with MANY restaurants, (including a new, very good, little Salvadoran cafe) within walking distance.
Public transit is a few blocks away. Taxis are abundant and affordable, and highly recommended if you're planning a night on the town :)
Other Things to Note
Dogs ($10 per night): Small, well-behaved dogs are allowed with prior okay from your hosts, and must be supervised at all times.
Babies/toddlers ($10 per night): Parents bringing your young children, please be advised that they will be considered an "extra person" when booking. Also, please bring extra towels, pillows, bedding, etc. for your little ones. For safety and sanitary reasons, NO children under age 5 are allowed in the hot tub.
Respect our neighbors, respect our stuff.
Smoking is allowed outside only.
Please be judicious with use of wine, oils and lotions around the bedding.
We are environmentally conscious. Conservation, composting, and recycling are part of the experience.
This place was amazing. So relaxing and peaceful. They go out of their way to make your experience unique. Bend was a blast. We rented bikes and made our way through town. A great getaway.
Debby and Kevin are warm and wonderful hosts! They have arranged everything very thoughtfully, and the result is a welcoming, serene space. The neighborhood was great...within walking distance of shops, a splendid bakery and brewery. Highly recommended!
Kevin and Debby were wonderful hosts and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They welcomed us to their charming 'Little House' and gave us great suggestions for spots in and around town to eat, drink, and explore. And wrapping up or starting off the day in the hot tub can't be beat! What a place!
First AirBnB experience and couldn't have asked for a better one. Debbie and Kevin were awesome hosts. Lots of great things nearby, both in walking and driving distance. And you can't beat the hot tub!
This place was perfect! Debby and Kevin were amazing hosts and we couldn't have asked for a better experience in Bend. The location is about a 3 minute drive to downtown and 30 minutes to the ski slopes. The place was plenty big for 2 people (could easily fit one or two more) and the hot tub was amazing! If you are looking for a great place to stay in Bend, this is it.
The Little House was a great place to stay and highly recommended to anyone looking to stay in Bend. Our hosts were super nice and even loaned us some extra kitchen supplies when the nice little kitchen didn't have what I needed. Debby and Kevin keep the cottage super organized and clean, and even gave us a list of what was going on around town during our stay. If we come back to Bend, we'll want to stay here again. Thanks for making our anniversary so relaxing and romantic!
We are easy-going baby boomers. Kevin is involved in environmental and social issues, and Debby is a mental health counselor. We moved from Colorado to Bend in order to be closer to the outdoor activities we adore (skiing, kayaking, hiking, biking, etc.). We've made lifestyle decisions that give us more opportunity to choose play over work, so we consider ourselves quite brilliant :)
We love to laugh, and have an optimistic view of living life. If there's a silver lining, we'll find it.
Our goal is to share what we know about the Central Oregon experience, and guide our guests, when asked. Bend and the surrounding areas have everything you need to experience fun, excitement, and serenity. We have it all!
