A very large and secure private room (25m2) in a shared and very spacious apartment with great transport connections to all the attractions and neighbourhoods of London.

Spacious 25 square metres fully furnished room that can sleep 1-4 people comfortably (this is a very large space compared to London standards), there is a king size bed, large wardrobe and drawers. It's perfect for couples or individual travellers, business stays and groups between 3-4.

*** +2 people? No problem! ***
There's the possibility of hosting more than 2 in the room comfortably, it's a very large room, just let me know beforehand and I can arrange it. I will add 2 extra single beds (real mattresses NOT air-beds). See the photos showing how the room is formatted with the 2 extra beds.

The unique space in this flat is the HUGE roof terrace (see photos!) it has amazing panoramic views of the city, you can see Big Ben to the London Eye to St Paul's Cathedral to the brand new tallest building in Europe, "The Shard". This is a view not to be missed!!!

The Neighborhood

*** Local Area - Parks, Dining & Pubs ***
The local area has a number of excellent pubs and delicious restaurants, as well as a number of very large parks which have tennis courts and large playing fields. See the Guidebook for details.

The flat is walking distance to Brixton, East Dulwich, Dulwich Village and Camberwell (Famous for the Art College) a great multicultural melting pot in London and an up and coming artistic area, there's Brixton Academy for music and Brixton Village for food.

Getting around

** Great Transport Connections **
Public Transport is plentiful. The London Overground Station Denmark Hill (Zone 2) is 5 minutes walk from the flat (It's on the orange line on Tube map).

Denmark Hill station can take you directly to trendy Shoreditch/Old Street in East London in 20mins and within 10mins you can be in Victoria (For Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, St James Park, Big Ben, The Mall, Oxford St, Regents St, Trafalgar Square) or 15mins to the South Bank river promenade (For Tate Modern Gallery, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, St Paul's Cathedral, National Film Theatre, London Bridge, Borough Market and more!).

Central London is very close and easy to reach! Denmark Hill will give you great transport connections to all parts of the city.

*** 24hr Bus - Get Home any Hour! ***
There are 4 buses that pass outside the flat, all going to Central London within 25 minutes. Bus 40, Bus 176, Bus 185 & Bus 484.

The Bus 176 is a 24/7 service that runs from Soho Downtown, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square & Covent Garden to the flat, so you will always be able to get back to the flat anytime, day or night.

The flat is well connected to all airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, City Airport, Luton & Stansted) The flat has a direct train connection to St Pancras International Eurostar train station (15mins) if you feel like visiting France or Belgium for the weekend, it's totally possible from London!

The flat has WiFi Internet throughout and if you care about the speed of your internets like we do, it's a nice chunky FAST & STABLE 76Mb fibre internet connection, perfect for high quality video calling and business.

*** Need a 3G SIM card during your stay? ***
If you have an unlocked mobile phone I can provide you with a 3G SIM card so you will have data while moving around London, useful for digital maps, live transport times and other apps that I can recommend to you when you arrive. Please let me know how many SIM cards you need before you arrive and I can set them up for you. This is useful if you are a group and need to call or message each other for free. I highly recommend it.

  • Josef has been a great host. From the time we start de reservation in airbnb, until we get there, he was truly helpful, with timetables, best tracks, some nice tourist tips. Although the bathroom and kitchen are shared with them, their presence was always discreet, so we never had the feeling of being invading their space, nor our space being invaded. The house was very clean, and the location, was very nice:10 min to Victoria Station by train, 20 min by bus. There are transportations all night to get there. It has been a great experience that we hope repeat soon.

  • Great location for a weekend trip to London. Close to bus and train station (within 30 minutes you're in the center of London). Room is big enough to host a family of four. Josef and Anka are very helpful and friendly and they responded fast on all our requests. This apartment has all basic facilities, reasonable beds and the bathroom has a good shower. Price vs. quality is definitely good.
    Tip for travellers from Europe : Bring some travel adapters for the UK power outlets. Fortunately we could borrow one frome Anka.

  • I stayed with Josef for 2 nights during a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed his hospitality. Everything was taken care of and there was even a "Guest Guide" in the room to help you with getting around London and the flat. Josef recommended some neat places to check out during my stay which I really appreciated.

    There was a great selection of places nearby for drinks and food, one of them being a bike shop with a bar! And another which made the best kebab I've had in ages. Everything is well within walking distance, and public transport is just 5-10mins away – making it easy to get around.

    All in all, Josef has a neat flat and a very large spare room with a comfortable bed.

    If you're visiting London and want a pleasant experience – you should definitely book with Josef!

  • My partner and I spent 2.5 weeks with Josef and Anka, and we loved every minute! The flat is generous in size, and the room we stayed in was very large and accommodating indeed. Josef and Anka are both wonderful hosts and are a wealth of knowledge. The entire flat was cleaned regularly, and is fully equipped for a long or short stay with plenty of fridge and cupboard space, and the shower is fantastic with unlimited hot water! Denmark Hill is a great location, close enough to all of the action but a nice quiet neck of the woods. There are three good bars in easy walking distance of the flat (i.e. within 10 mins) and a large Sainsbury's just over the hill. Buses run from around the corner into the heart of London 24x7 and the train connections are great also. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good priced abode and great hosts... and although we didn't get to enjoy the rooftop terrace (not warm enough) the views are spectacular! Thanks Josef and Anka :)

  • We enjoyed staying at Josef's house. He and his flatmates were friendly and welcoming. However the bathroom was very unclean and one key is not enough for 4 people. And we were a bit sad that we didn't get the 5th bed, because I asked about that before I booked the room.

    Hi Angela, the room was listed for 4 people, since it was New Year's Eve and very difficult to find an affordable and comfortable place to stay in London during this period for groups your size, I accepted that your extra guest could stay for no additional cost, but I couldn't guarantee a bed for the 5th person, only an Air Mattress or the sofa/couch with blanket, I accommodated the extra person the best i could, which you told me would be staying just 1 night, but then you extended this to 2 nights when you arrived, I accepted this, as it is difficult to find accommodation in London during New Year.

    I stated this in our correspondence before you confirmed your reservation. I said: "There are 3 beds, 1 king and 2 singles. That's the max capacity of the room, I can't add any more beds, sorry!" But you confirmed the reservation, knowing this.

    The listing also says that only 1 set of keys is included, most of the guests that stay in the room are families of 4 or couples, so 1 set of keys is enough, if you would have informed me beforehand that you needed more than 1 set of keys, I could have arranged this for you, no problem.

    As you can see from the many previous positive reviews, the house and room are kept very clean, it is very important to me. I'm sorry on this occasion it was not up to your standards for your large group.

  • Josef was a very knowledgable and helpful host. The room was large enough for four. It was very warm in the winter time. This place was very close to all public transport, laundromat and supermarket. It had 2 really great London pubs close by.

  • We really enjoyed our 3-week stay in Josef's flat. Nice neighborhood, great access to bus stops for several lines, & to Denmark Hill station. Easy walk to grocery store, great Indian & Thai takeout just down the street. We came and went at all hours and often felt like we had the flat to ourselves. Josef and his flatmate were terrific company when we connected around the teakettle. Excellent wireless in the flat.

  • It's been a great experience, actually my first one with Airbnb. Josef and Anca were very kind. The house has a perfect location, it was easy to reach but being so close to the centre it is in a quite neighbourhood. I definately recommend it!

    Unsere erste Erfahrung mit Airbnb war spitze! Die Gastgeber sind absolut freundlich und unkompliziert, das Haus liegt in einer guten Lage und bietet alles, was man so braucht. Auch für vier Personen wird es im Zimmer nicht zu eng.

  • I did not see Josef that much, but the place was very clean and close to the train station as promised. Plenty of markets close by. This was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.
