Check In
  • maggie was quite responsive when making our reservation, and we were happy to get things sorted quickly. she gave great instructions and we found the house to be as described. it was a little darker inside than we imagined (so if you are looking for a light filled space, perhaps another rental is for you!) but everything was in good order. we enjoyed our stay and would give high consideration to staying in the cabin in the woods upon our next visit to the area.

    Response from Maggie:

Thank you Cort, glad you were able to find the light bulb spares. I should have checked that before you arrived.
House was left in great shape as you promised. Many thanks

  • Friends and I rented this beautiful cabin for our 5-year Bard College reunion and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The cabin is private, spacious and exceedingly comfortable! Maggie (email hidden) who couldn't have been easier to work with. I only wish that I'd had more time to explore the beautiful woods that surround the house. We're planning on renting the cabin again in the future!

  • My partner, dog and I had a terrific stay at Maggie's cabin. It is very secluded, much larger than expected from the photos, very clean and user-friendly. Maggie was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Excellent place to stay! Very close to the beautiful Rhinebeck. The cabin is even prettier than the photos suggest, we stayed with 8 people and it was the perfect size.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Jorvik over Thanksgiving. The cabin is just as described: simple and cozy with lovely Norwegian details, such as a colorful grandfather clock and wood-burning stoves. Linens were fresh, pristine and uniquely European. The driveway up to the cabin is also part of the fun, as the winding dirt road is arched in branches and feels rather remote. Our English bulldog just loved being able to run around in the leaves. It was convenient to where we wanted to go and to the Taconic. I would stay here again.

  • We had a great time at Maggie's Jorvik. The place is beautiful in the middle of the woods. Maggie was a gracious hostesses leaving us detailed instructions, and two bottles of wine as well!! Thank you Maggie!!

  • My friends and I came out here from NYC to get away for a birthday and it was just what we needed. We played board games, made dinner together in the huge kitchen, and slept very well. The drive way is long and don't be scared of the winding roads. It leads (email hidden) with keys that look like they came from the 6th century.

  • An unusually cold Bard graduation weekend was perfect thanks to Maggie and her welcoming home. Warm fires greeted us on Friday and continued to warm us all weekend. We were the envy of other Bard families staying in hotels in the area. We discovered we did not miss the internet or television at all as we rediscovered cards games and magic tricks. It was a WONDERFUL family weekend. As the sun came out, we hiked and explored the beautiful surrounding woods, and were sorry to see our weekend come to an end.
Maggie has planned for everything. The kitchen is well stocked, beds and baths ready and comfortable. All the comforts of home and hotel. Everything you would expect without noisy neighbors.
