Costa Dulce is a wonderful community that offers rest and relaxation, surfing, hiking, exploration, lazing in hammocks and seriously delicious meals! I stayed in two of the cabanas- Pelícano and the more seculded Casa Tranquila. Both were comfortable and had amazing views. I really appreciate the owner's focus on community and conservation. The staff is friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend paddle boarding with Hamlett down Rio Escameca and a surf lesson with the talented Williams. I had never surfed before and was standing on my second attempt! Thanks for a wonderful stay, Costa Dulce! I hope to come back!

Costa Dulce is a little piece of paradise. I stayed in "Big Bungalow" for 5 nights with a friend. It could comfortably host a family of 4. Clean, comfy, awesome view ! The staff is so nice, always smiling and dedicated. The kitchen people will gladly adapt the menu if you have allergies or restrictions. We would often have the beach for our own. We had 2 surf classes (thanks to Ivan and his instructors team!) and a pretty strong massages. In 5 days we had the chance to see 78 baby turtles hatch, wild dolphins at sunset, howler monkeys just a few steps away from the beach bar and the best sunsets ever. Our only regret was that we were not able to attend the morning yoga class because their was a private yoga training where we did not feel welcome. Otherwise, we met really nice people and are already looking forward to our next visit! Merci Tyson & Kit & Costa Dulce team :)

Amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better place to get a little peace and quiet before my long journey home. I wish I could have stayed here longer.

To say that we absolutely loved our stay at Costa Dulce would be an absolute understatement! This secluded piece of paradise was exactly what we were looking for. Such a chill spot nestled in the hills yet only a short walk to a private beach with soft sand and great surf. Our Cabana was beautifully crafted and well maintained. The whole place really embraces an eco-friendly mentality and encourages almost a family feel to the place. The food was absolutely outstanding - every meal better than the one before! Not only did we fall in love with Nicaragua but we most definitely fell in love with Costa Dulce and are counting the days until we can return!

This place is a legitimate paradise. If you appreciate: natural surroundings, sustainable living, genuinely nice and friendly people and simple, fresh and delicious food then this is the place for you. I was looking for a secluded getaway where I could unwind from regular life and I got exactly what I wanted. The whole place is really well laid out, the yoga studio is beautiful and the views from everywhere you go on the property are insane. Although their beach isn't a particularly crazy surfer's beach you can easily walk to other beaches for better surf. Many times it was like having an entire beach to myself, it was amazing. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're the type of person who needs air conditioning to survive, you want to party all night long and if you aren't open to natural elements like bugs, crabs, sand, wind, etc. There is a bar and fun is allowed, but they take care of the place really well and I think it's expected guests respect the land and people as much as they do. Highly highly recommend. I can't wait to go back.

My wife Patricia and I are a Nica/Canadian couple who together with the our family and friends have created a magical beach village on the south pacific coast of Nicaragua. Costa Dulce consists of a kitchen/restaurant, a bar/lounge, Yoga Studio, work shop, vegetable gardens, chicken/pig show, and an assortment of cabins, not to mention the beach and surf. We host retreats, and other travellers to support our operations financial needs. Check out our website to see some pictures and to get a better idea of our offerings.
My name is Tyson and I moved to Nicaragua 11 years ago from the Gulf Islands, B.C, Canada. My mom has a small organic farm on Saltspring Island and my dad founded a film and television school on Galiano Island, I first visited Nicaragua during the civil war in 1989 at the age of 6 when I starred in a doc film my dad produced called Through the Eye of Children.
Our dream is to improve the life of our friends and neighbours who as Nicaraguan country folks have been dealt a difficult hand. We also strive to find ways to be self sufficient/sustainable in our endeavours while being conscious of our environmental impacts an minimizing footprints.
While staying with us you will have the opportunity to learn to surf, join yoga classes and meet some great people along the way.
