'The Factory' is 1920's jewellery Factory.
It is located on a quiet and friendly street, directly leading to St Pauls Square within the Jewellery quarter.
I discovered this Victorian/Art Deco factory a few years ago and has been renovating it into a liveable space ever since.
Its original features have been unveiled and restored.
The factory boasts original Victorian tiling, exposed brickwork, 4 metre high ceilings and as it is south-west facing has daylight all day long!
Within the factory there are 4 floors: a basement, a ground floor, a first floor and a flat roof. The roof has been accesible in the recent past but it is not at the moment, we aim for it to be for the summer months.
The first floor has a sun-catching courtyard, perfect for Alfresco dining.
The available rent-able space is on the first floor ( see photos).
The apartment is separated off from the rest of the factory, so during your stay the whole apartment with access to all facilities including the courtyard will be solely accessible by you, unless you need our assistance or company! You will have your own set of keys and have the freedom to come and go as you please at your own pace.
If we need to access the apartment while you are with us we will notify you beforehand.
The Factory welcomes lone rangers, couples and families (max 4). We have another double bed and 1 single bed that we can set up for you.
If you are coming for a special occasion or surprise, give us a heads up and we can bare this in mind when we are preparing the space for you!
We are extremely lucky with our location as we are situated close to the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery quarter. St Pauls square is 200 metres from our front door and the city centre is a 15 minute walk away.
You can choose different routes, the canal side walk is recommended.
There is everything a visitor to Birmingham would require on our doorstep (even before you reach the city centre!).
Just in the Jewellery quarter and St Pauls Square alone there is incredible history, architecture, a couple of galleries & museums, easy access to the canal, a choice of either a selection of fine dining or lovely pubs with gastro pub style food, cafes, sophisticated bars, clubs, beauty parlours, a deli, food shops, a vintage shop (next door!) and not to mention an abundance of jewellery shops.
If you are being dragged reluctantly to the city beyond your control and would rather be in the countryside and have spare time - there are surprisingly numerous beautiful expansive parks, alternative off-road routes (perfect for walking, jogging, cycling) cycle routes, canal walks and nature reserves.
We are very excited about sharing this purposefully minimalistic space.
We like the space to be as bright as possible so there are no curtains on the windows. Privacy can be sought in the bathroom and your bedroom box.
We have a wireless internet connection, and a projector and screen for potential movie nights -You will need to bring your own laptop to avail of this facility!
This is an evolving project and although we feel it is ready for guests we are not claiming perfection, we will endeavour to make your stay as lovely as possible.
Come with an open mind and you will not be disappointed.

You have access to all the facilities and amenities in the apartment - kitchen, washing machine etc.. We would like you to feel as at home as possible.
If there is something that you need and it seems like we do not have it please let us know and we will try and locate it for you.

Interaction with Guests
We aim to be there on your arrival and departure and will always be on hand (mainly by phone) to answer any questions, advice or just have a nice chat!
When we have guests we live on the ground floor, the apartment is on the first floor.
Jonny and I can have unpredictable work commitments, so if we are not available to greet you initially we will have a pick up key arrangement in place and make sure we get to meet you as soon as is possible!
The rest is up to you - we will respect your desire for privacy, equally we welcome good excuses for drinkies and cuppas.
Our neighbourhood is vibrant and lively and is tipped as one of central Birmingham's most popular areas to live and visit.
When the weather is beautiful the local community tend to sunbathe, picnic, play Frisbee on the communal green enveloping St pauls Church and Square.
Be sure to visit Chris (the 8ft grocer) next door for a lovely breakfast, lunch, fresh bread or a delicious treat. All his stock has been mindfully hand picked with quality and fineness been the priority.
The Braderie vintage shop is also a personal favourite - which is attached to the 8ft grocer!
There are a couple of overnight car-parks nearby, the cheapest is £3.70 for 24 hours, thats located on the bottom of northwood street.
If you find a 'P' thats free parking, on the roadside- have a little drive down Mary street (The street the factory is on the corner of) and fingers crossed it will be your lucky day- never move it, they are like gold dust.
So, the main train station in town is Birmingham New Street (Has a direct line to and from Birmingham international airport).
You can get a taxi to the station which would cost about £5-£6 and take not more than 10 minutes (traffic dependant) The taxi rank- St Pauls cars is located a stones throw away. It is a 20 minute walk.
We also have The Jewellery quarter train Station and Snowhill station (which are on the same line), they are both a 10 minute walk away.
To get to the main bus stops you would need to walk into Birmingham city centre. The walk could take from 10-25 minutes, depending on where you need to get to.

****Four important things to note!****
*Our neighbour Chris, the 8ft grocer offers our guests two different hampers which can be ordered prior to arrival:
1. Romantic hamper- bottle of wine, 2 bars of chocolate, a loaf of delicious freshly baked bread and 2 cheeses for £25.
2. Breakfast hamper enough for 4 people:
Sausages, bacon, fresh bread, eggs, tomatoes, tomato sauce, butter milk and some teabags for £25. Vegetarian option includes cheese and more lovely vegetables instead of the meat.
All of chris's produce has been carefully hand selected and are sourced from the local area. Everything he stocks is truely delicious, if you don't fancy cooking your breakfast yourself we can put in an order for you prior to you coming of you can do it yourselves when you arrive!
*Both check in and check out times are flexible according to your needs, for no extra cost.
*Jonny and I both have unpredictable schedules, so with a little bit of prior communication & organisation we will try our best to work around you.
Relax and treat The Factory like your home!
Since we have put the property on Airbnb we have had many enquiries about photoshoots. After having a few already and realising there are fine lines between glamour/porn etc.. I feel more comfortable with having a general rule of clothed photoshoots only please- this will alleviate any grey areas or fine lines.
