Piazza Santa Croce is one of the largest and most famous squares of central Florence. The Basilica of Santa Croce, the largest Franciscan church in the world, overlooks the piazza. The basilica's most notable features are its sixteen chapels, many of them decorated with frescoes by Giotto and his pupils, and its tombs and cenotaphs. It is the burial place of some illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo Buonarroti, Niccolò Machiavelli, Enrico Fermi, Galileo Galilei, Ugo Foscolo, Guglielmo Marconi, Luigi Cherubini, Leon Battista Alberti, Vittorio Alfieri, Gioacchino Rossini, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Lorenzo Bartolini, Pier Antonio Micheli, Bartolomeo Cristofori, and Giovanni Gentile. For this reason it also known as the Temple of the Italian Glories (Tempio dell'Itale Glorie). In front of the Basilica there is famous marble statue made by Enrico Pazzi decidated to Dante Alighieri, and formerly places in the middle of the piazza.

Niccolo communicated well with us beforehand and was at the apartment when we arrived. A couple of times we had questions for him and he responded very promptly, even getting a taxi for us when we departed.
The apartment was very clean and organized, centrally located and within walking distance of almost everything. Shops and restaurants are close by and the street is quiet at night. Would recommend
Our stay in Florence was the best, and it was all made possible by Florence & Us! The apartment was really nice and comfortable, with a nice shower and strong AC. Niccolo was kind enough to let us leave our bags at the apartment a couple of hours before check-in, and when we returned, he took the time to review all of the dishes, sights, restaurants, etc we should check out in Florence. He even gave us a map and pointed out where all these things were, and left us with printouts of Tuscan specialty dishes with their descriptions, restaurants to hit, museums to see with their prices and hours, and even a list of emergency numbers (knock on wood). His restaurant recommendations were amazing -- not touristy and incredibly delicious. My now-fiancé proposed to me at the Piazza Della Republica during our stay, and our engagement will be even more memorable because of staying with Florence & Us.
The flat was nice and centrally located and all attractions at walking distance.
Nicollo met us at the door and gave great advice about nearby eateries. The washing machine was a godsend after 2 weeks of travel! The air conditioning and shutters made the apartment great for sleeping. The location was a comfortable jumping off point for the sights. It was especially fun for us as artists to hang out in Michelangelo's neighborhood.
Fantastic host, provided all information we needed to sightsee Florence when we met at the start of our stay. Accommodations are exactly as pictures. One thing to note in case it isn't clear to you: city tourism tax is not included and should be paid at check-in in cash. It is 2€ per person per night (I believe it's in the description of the apartment, but we hadn't noticed it).
Niccolò gave us a great introduction to the apartment, the neighborhood, and Florence in general. All recommendations were spot on and included some places we'd have trouble discovering ourselves.
Staying at Niccolo's was a really great experience. The apartment was very clean and modern and had everything that anybody would require. The apartment was in a great location with all the main Florence attractions easily within walking distance! Niccolo was very accommodating in the time that we check in and communication was easy and without issue. He was very prepared with everything written down and easily accessible. He sat us down to introduce to the available options in Florence and even provided us a mobile phone just in case of emergency. He also recommended restaurants to try. We will definitely stay in this apartment when we visit Florence again! Thank you again for your hospitality, Niccolo!!!
