Piazza Santa Croce is one of the largest and most famous squares of central Florence. The Basilica of Santa Croce, the largest Franciscan church in the world, overlooks the piazza. The basilica's most notable features are its sixteen chapels, many of them decorated with frescoes by Giotto and his pupils, and its tombs and cenotaphs. It is the burial place of some illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo Buonarroti, Niccolò Machiavelli, Enrico Fermi, Galileo Galilei, Ugo Foscolo, Guglielmo Marconi, Luigi Cherubini, Leon Battista Alberti, Vittorio Alfieri, Gioacchino Rossini, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Lorenzo Bartolini, Pier Antonio Micheli, Bartolomeo Cristofori, and Giovanni Gentile. For this reason it also known as the Temple of the Italian Glories (Tempio dell'Itale Glorie). In front of the Basilica there is famous marble statue made by Enrico Pazzi decidated to Dante Alighieri, and formerly places in the middle of the piazza.

Emplacement idéal, appartement très propre et fonctionnel. Accueil très sympathique et très attentionné. Tous les ingrédients pour un séjour parfait. Un grand merci à Niccolò
Staying in Niccolo's apartment was everything so many guests have already said! Very comfortable, very homey, very clean, with many amenities. On a quiet street that is just off the center of Florence but near everything.
And Niccolo himself provides so much information about the city he obviously knows and loves. He was a wonderful host, and ready to provide guidance if we needed it.
Niccolo was a great host and the apartment was perfect! Upon arrival, Niccolo showed us the apartment and also provided us with detailed overview of Florence - sites to see, restaurants to eat at, etc. He even provided a cell phone in case we needed to urgently get in touch with him. The location is great - very close to many sites, but on a nice quiet street away from the noise of the Duomo. Highly recommended and would stay here again!
Niccolo was an incredible host! He sat down and gave us his restaurant, gelato, and site seeing recommendations. The apartment itself could not be in a more convenient location, right next to the Piazza Santa Croce. We accidentally broke a wine glass during our stay and Niccolo was completely understanding. I recommend this place highly to anyone visiting Florence
Niccolo was the host for our first Airbnb experience and couldn't have been better! The apartment was clean, fully equipped, perfectly located, and exactly as shown in the pictures. Niccolo's hospitality was unrivaled- he met my partner and I at the apartment for check-in on time and took a lot of time to help orient us to the apartment and the city. All of his recommendations were excellent- especially the restaurant recommendations. He even gave us a bottle of wine from his family's winery to welcome us and a cell phone to use for domestic calls or emergencies. Can't say enough great things about the experience- book with him today!
Niccolò was always swift and responsive communicating prior to our visit, and met us on time at the flat. He was meticulous in explaining the flat and the area to us, and had wonderful recommendations for what to do and where to eat, etc. It was terrific to have such a good introduction to Florence as we were only there for two nights. As a result of Niccolò's advice we have eaten the best coffee and pastry of our lives at a nearby market. Niccolò was also very warm and welcoming and we felt comfortable and at ease as soon as we arrived. The flat itself is secure, in an excellent location - we walked everywhere - clean and usefully furnished. If we had another weekend in Florence that's where we'd be staying.
