Guest access
The whole Main Wing of the house is your own private area.

The Casita (Southwest Wing) and Garage are reserved for the Caretaker and for storage. The North Wing or Studio can also be rented separately (airbnb "rooms" 21772735) .

These two other wings are well separated away from your main wing, with a lot of privacy for each area. The laundry room adjoining your kitchen is also for you to use. (When the caretaker needs to use the laundry room he will coordinate that with you. You can also lock the 2 doors that lead to that room.)

The last photo on the listing is a satellite view of the house showing the separate wings. Please click back one from the starting photo to see it.

The rate per added guest is $6 per night.
Cats and Dogs: Each pet counts as one guest. Please notify us about pets when booking, and include them in the total number of guests. We prefer you to keep pets on the west veranda (4th bedroom).

Layout of Beds and Baths:
Access to the two bathrooms is via the kitchen or the main bedroom.
The house was built around 1956, with an open floor plan and many, many windows and doors, to let the westerly breezes through and keep it cool in the summer. Nowadays there is evaporation cooling.

Stairs:
There are three exterior entrances without stairs. Wheelchair access into the main area with no stair or ramp is via the West veranda (Bedroom 4). There is a half stair inside the house, between the Kitchen-Dining-Living-Main Bedroom area and rest of the Main Wing (Sunroom, Bedroom 2 and 3/Front Veranda, and Laundry Room).
There are three stairs from the sunroom porch down to the patio. This covered porch is a smoking area.

Access to the wash is via Sunny Vista Rd. Guests should not venture down the ridge behind the house where it slopes down into the wash. In some parts there is a sheer cliff down into the ravine, and this includes the top of Juniper Rd. Stay on the path atop the ridge.

Other things to note
If you notice any need for improvements, as your host I'm very glad to be the first one to hear about it, and try to fix it right away.

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighbors mostly seem to be rabbits, doves, quail, or squirrels. The roadrunner and coyote come around too. Out here we are guests of Mother Nature…
In case there are also any human neighbors within earshot, please no firecrackers or other very loud noise near the house.

Wear shoes outdoors as there may be cactus spines about.
Don't let children wander out in the desert. It's easiest to go for a walk East or West along the ridge, but it's also easier to lose sight of the house in those directions. Hiking north on Sunny Vista across the wash you can see the house atop the ridge from a long ways. If anyone gets lost, they should head South back to the main highway. The house is visible from there.

Check out my guidebook for nearby shops and restaurants. Glad to help out when we can, one of us is usually at the house. I've had so many really nice guests, and I like to learn a little from each one, while realizing your time is short on your visit and you have your program to fulfill.
