As a returning guest, my friends and I were happy to come back to a familiar home. Elissa and Gordon were very flexible with a late check-in time, and Gordon was even there to greet us at a late hour. Their home manual has information on just about everything you might need - and the hosts are very responsive via text. The home is super cozy and lovely, and the fireplace in the winter makes all the difference! We even made it out for a nice afternoon winter hike on the Appalachian trails - one my friends and I enjoyed last last October in the fall. Thanks for yet another great getaway from the business of city life!
We had a wonderful stay at Gordon and Elissa's home. We stayed over the Christmas holiday they were so accommodating with working with our schedules for check in and check out. They checked in with us when we got there to make sure we got in ok. They also laid out instructions for anything we may have needed. We also have a 9 month old and not having to worry about her getting into everything was a wonderful surprise. We would absolutely stay there again!
This was the perfect weekend getaway and Gordon and Elissa could not have been better hosts! The house is spacious and so very cozy. Perfect for a small gathering - breakfast on the porch, dinner parties, movies and games by the fireplace, etc. We also enjoyed a very scenic hike up the Appalachian trail and caught a glimpse of the Manhattan skyline from the very top. The photos posted online are very accurate (because I do find photos to be deceiving at times!) and the neighborhood is quiet and serene. Greenwood lake is a very beautiful area and I would recommend it to any and all looking for a beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
I had such a great time staying at Gordon & Elissa's! The house was clean & comfy. The area is beautiful. If you're looking for a quiet time outside of the city, this is the place to go. It's not a far drive. There's great hiking nearby and a gorgeous lake to swim in. Fun for all ages. Can't wait to be back!
Not only was Gordon and Elissa's house great and super cozy, but they really went above and beyond at making us feel comfortable and welcomed. I brought my family and my son's friend and mother, so we came to their house with 3 children and 3 adults - which could have been a little chaotic, but thanks to some thoughtful considerations by Gordon and Elissa - such as stocking their house with toiletries, food staples and towels for guests to use, everything was smooth sailing. Their house rental setup manages to strike a fabulous balance between making a guest feel like they're in their own home (lots of amenities, washer / dryer, etc), with the privacy and cleanliness of a B&B. Greenwood Lake is super cute too. Overall a great experience and we'd love to go back!
Thanks Elissa & Gordon!
Everyone in our family loved staying at Gordon and Elissa's home. The home was charming, nicely decorated, clean and with up-to-date kitchen appliances. The beds were very comfortable.
Gordon was exceptionally helpful getting us settled in even with our flight-delayed 2AM arrival.
We would definitely like to stay here again the next time we visit family in the area.
Elissa was very accommodating to our late arrival and Gordon was very detailed with the various ins and outs of the house.
The house is gorgeous and close to both the lake and hiking trails at the edge of the Appalachian.
I would definitely stay again for another weekend group get away!
