I have spent ten years in this neighborhood and love to call it home. There are some great restaurants within a 5 minute walk (my favorite one is just across the street). You are in Williamsburg here, so there are some great bars all around.
You are extremely close to the JMZ and G trains... the L is a walkable 7 minutes away... I often use it if headed into Manhattan at 14th Street. Grand St. and Metropolitan Ave. are along that 7 minute walk to the L train... lots of night life around there... and Bedford is about 12-15 minutes walk... or call a car from the car service down the street. We'll give you their number if you need a car to the airport or anywhere else.
The apartment itself is really nice. It's on the 5th floor. There is an elevator up, but it's slow, so I generally take the stairs down. I love staying here and always sleep well. The beds are comfortable. In the case that you'd have a 5th person, they would sleep on the fold out couch in the living area... it's not the most comfortable, but it works. It might be possible to have two people on that foldout couch (if they don't mind sleeping close). One of the 2 bedrooms has frosted glass in the window for some reason (privacy I guess, not my favorite design idea)... its still a great window for the natural light.
There is a balcony off of the other bedroom. Feel free to smoke out there, but please do not smoke in the apartment. I do ask that you be extremely courteous and respectful to the neighbors and super, I really like them and don't want to disturb them.
This place is a very comfortable to stay when visiting Williamsburg or NYC in general. You'll really like it here.
Interaction with Guests
Our interaction with you is generally minimal, but if you need us we'll be there. =]
There is a train to Manhattan right outside the front door.
Please read all of the rules and ask guests staying with you to read them as well. =]
My friend John will be letting you into the building. Please have a look in the house manual you will receive with the confirmation email for his information and reach out to him about check in / check out times. Please include airline and flight numbers if you are flying (this is very helpful in case of delays).
My number one rule is that the neighbors and super not be disturbed. Please view the house manual for more on this.
Please do not smoke in the apartment.
Do not play loud music after 11pm.
If you break anything, please let me know. I'd much prefer to find out about it from you than figure it out later. Honesty is the most polite policy here and we certainly won't be upset about it. We just want to know.
We will be flexible with you about check in and check out times, so we may need you to be a little flexible about it with the guests that may be at the apt before or after you. We try to make transitions as smooth as possible for everyone.
Please do not lose the key.
So, outside of that, just come and have a great time. You'll really enjoy the room and the neighborhood. Thus far, I've had really great experiences with all of my guests and I'm looking forward to having a similar experience with you.
Alles perfekt gelaufen mit Schlüsselübergabe. Super gute Lage. Subway von Hewes Street oder Broadway direkt vor der Tür.
The apartment was clean and in a convenient location. The host was easy to communicate with and very accommodating, overall we enjoyed our stay!
The apartment was as it appeared in the pictures, with two spacious bedrooms and a comfortable living area. There was plenty of storage and room for our three massive suitcases! We didn't cook, but the cooker looked very impressive. We were only seconds from a subway stop, which was very handy for zipping into Manhattan, and found two superb places for breakfast within a few minutes walk of the apartment. In particular, we were facilitated when our plane was delayed upon arrival, and were met in the apartment even though it was 02:00 in the morning. We really appreciated this - it smoothed the end of an otherwise stressful day! Thanks Graham and Alex for a lovely stay.
El departamento es hermoso! Amplio y limpio. Muy bien ubicado y el anfitrión fue muy muy amable con nosotras! Súper recomendable
Graham was a great host. We exchanged by emails several times to set up our arrival time with my colleague. His friend Alex was here to do the check in and check out. The description was accurate, the apartment was clean and well location, in front of the Hewes Station!
