Nice guestroom in one of the coolest, most central and safest areas of São Paulo. Itaim Bibi is a cool, modern neighborhood, which serves not only as São Paulo’s prime business district but is also one of the best residential locations in town. You’re close to an eclectic mix of bars, restaurants, shopping malls and nightclubs. Unless you have a specific site to visit outside this area there is really no reason to leave.
Enjoy the "easy city" instead of the "busy city" staying in a traditional centrally located family/professional friendly neighborhood. No heavy traffic. Trees and gardens everywhere. Find both unique local business and nice global chains on every corner (Le Pain Quotidien, Starbucks, etc). Units of all the city's best restaurants without the tourist crowds and long lines, and the best part: walk! One of the few neighborhoods in São Paulo in which you can still do everything by walking (safely, day and night). Both Ibirapuera Park (to relax) and Avenida Faria Lima (to work) are just a 10-15 minute walk away. If you're not much of a walker, bikes, frequent buses and R$15 taxi rides will take you pretty much anywhere (Av Paulista, MASP, Downtown) - there is no metro though - residents like to keep it kind of secluded.
I share the apartment with another young professional friend and we have a nice guest room to accommodate family and friends when they come to the city. The room has a double bed, an empty closet, and a desk - which combined with the 10MB Wi-Fi and the short distance from most offices in town, makes it the perfect place for travelers on business trips. If you're coming only to enjoy the city I'll do my best to provide you with local tips, but you will be on your own most of the time - as we work pretty much all day and usually leave the city on weekends.
The kitchen is equipped with the basics (stove, oven, microwave, coffee machine, fridge, etc) plus a washer you can use. We don't cook that much but there is an organic restaurant literally in front of the building and several others good ones + supermarkets/grocery stores can be found around the block. The bathroom is shared and a housekeeper comes every Tuesday to clean the apartment and iron the clothes. There is a doorman and security downstairs 24/7.
- At check in, a set of keys will be provided to the guests so that they have the freedom to go in and out at any time of the day.
- Smoking is only allowed in the living room, preferably by the window
- No strangers in the apartment without our previous consent
- Be considerate with the neighbors (specially between 10pm and 8 am. This is a family/professional neighborhood)
- Please ensure that the main door is locked when you leave the apartment.
- It is your responsibility to keep the kitchen clean and wash your dishes after use, at all times.
- The housekeeper comes every Tuesday to clean the apartment, iron and also change all sheets and towels.
Sam is definitely a great host! His apartment is modern and stylish. The best part is how close it is to Ibirapuera Park so I could run there everyday. It's also located in a nice neighborhood, one short bus ride away to Avenida Paulista.
From the beginning, it was easy to communicate with Sam since he was very responsive and not complicated. He is kind, easygoing, and considerate. He is also friendly and at the same time gives people space. Being a local, Sam gave me plenty of great advice about traveling in Brazil. Sam is also a busy professional so his lifestyle matches well with me who was in Brazil for work.
All in all, I had amazing six weeks working and traveling in Sao Paulo thanks to Sam. If you are looking for a friendly local host, Sam is your guy!
I stayed 2 month and it was just great! Clean house, easy access to the shops around, safe location and most of all, 2 great Brazilian hosts!
If you need a room in Itaim Bibi or Jardin Paulista, this one is it.
No need to research other houses... truly!
3 weeks in the flat of Samuel... VERY COOL!
The flat is very nice, well furnished (big bed, small office in the bedroom, big TV with NETFLIX, great kitchen fully furnished), and very close from many bars and restaurants.
I had a great stay with Sam and Hebe! The apartment is very clean and comfortable, and Sam and Hebe are very generous with their space. There's no Metro stop, but that's only a quick bus ride away and the apartment is in a great neighborhood -- plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. I had my privacy when I wanted it, but the guys were always inviting if they were having a glass of wine with a friend in the living room. Sam even booked my taxi to the airport for me when my first reservation fell through. A great place to stay in SP, I may be back!
Had a truly great stay at Samuel's place. Location perfect - safe, close to faria lima (financial district and shopping mall), many places to grab food & drinks in the area. Very clean apartment - no complaints, even as a german ;). Both Samuel and his flatmate are awesome guys to stay with and had i had a lot of fun with them + got many great tips for the city. Would definitely stay at the place again when coming back to SP!
Samuel was very helpful, quick to reply my pre-booking questions and left everything set up for my late at night arrival. The place is very well located. The overall experience was very good and for sure will be back again in my next trip to Sao Paulo.
Samuel's flat is wonderful: clean, close to everything, and very safe. I had an extended stay and he and his roommate were very accommodating. I would recommend his listing to anyone without hesitation.
When I arrived, he helped me get my bearings in a city that I instantly found overwhelming. He pointed out the best places to go to get the most out of my stay in São Paulo, including handwritten directions. The best part of this is getting a feel for what it would be like to live in São Paulo, which is truly unique. Again, I would absolutely recommend staying here.
