Panoramic City View -- Capitol Hill

Apartment - Private room · East Harrison Street, Seattle, WA 98102, United States

The Space

Beautiful, spacious, top floor premium apartment in Capitol Hill (Cap Hill) with a penthouse view, right off Broadway and John Street. Includes private bathroom and breakfast. Parking is available for an extra fee. NOTE: This listing is for a private room and not the entire apartment.

Modern, serene, airy, and light filled, the apartment has handsome Brazilian hardwood floors and deep burgundy walls house artwork from my travels through Europe. Fully stocked kitchen for your use. Washer/Dryer for use as well. For guest(s) that stay for 3 nights or more, bottle of wine complimentary.

The crown jewel of this unit is the panoramic view of Seattle, not only from the balcony but from the living room as well. Very rare combination of sky scrapers, Space Needle, water (Puget Sound), and the Olympic mountains, all in one view. You can sit on the balcony and watch seaplanes fly past the Space Needle and land on Lake Union. Facing west, you will witness amazing cloud formations and epic sunsets. Pictures do not serve it justice, it is awe inspiring, and you feel literally "in the city".

The private bedroom has a high level of privacy with a private in-unit bathroom -- fresh sheets and towels are provided. Very comfortable Queen Bed. Bedroom and bathroom are kept very clean. The entrance to the bedroom is next to the front door so you can come and go as you wish.

For music lovers, there is a high end audiophile stereo system (Martin Logan electrostatics for the audio nerds) -- it is like listening to awesome headphones, but without the headphones. iPhones and Macbooks can stream to the stereo system. Wi-Fi is included.

The host is an experienced Airbnber, having used it exclusively for a 3 week trip to Europe. Your flatmate is an affable, fun, personable, technology professional. I am a respectful and thoughtful person, and will expect the same from any potential guest. On weekdays, this place will feel like it is truly yours since I will be gone most of the day. This unit is truly a special space and you will have the quintessential Seattle experience on Cap Hill.

Check in procedures: I live in this unit and have a day job, so on weekdays, I prefer to have check-in at 6:00pm or later. On weekends I am much more flexible on check in time. For people that arrive early, I know a department store downtown that will store your bags for free. Check out time will depend on the next guest but usually around 5pm works.

Guest Access

Complete access to the kitchen, living area, and balcony. The guest room is completely private with own bathroom.

Interaction with Guests

As a long time Seattle resident I try to provide Guests with a locals perspective. I try to accommodate all Guests, and will provide them with as much privacy as they need. I have also taken Guests to concerts, dinner, and drinks.

The Neighborhood

Central location, 10 minute walk to downtown, and footsteps away from the amenities of vibrant Cap Hill. A wealth of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, cocktail lounges, grocery, pharmacy are within a 5 minute walk (close to Broadway and Pike/Pine corridor). As you may know Cap Hill is the
foodie / drink / coffee / music / nightlife mecca of Seattle and is very walkable. 20 minute walk to Pike Place Market and downtown shopping district. 25 minute walk to Space Needle. Short bus ride to both and to other locations of interest in Seattle (such as University District, Queen Anne, Fremont and Ballard).

Getting around

Cap Hill is very easy to walk around, and the walk to downtown is 10 minutes. There is a bus stop two blocks away that will take you to the Space Needle and Seattle Center in 10 minutes, and to downtown in 5 minutes.

  • For a quick getaway to Seattle this is the Perfect location. Nam provides his guests with lots of info, travel stories, wine and privacy. We hung out and had some wine and laughs on Friday night and did not see him again until Sunday night. The bedroom was really clean and all you need as a base.

The rest of the apartment was really nice but the VIEWS are the star attraction! I did not miss a TV when you have a view like that!

Nam was a great host and helped to make Seattle a wonderful experience!

Thanks again NAM and hope to see u next time you are in San Francisco.

  • Nam's pad is as good as it looks, you should stay here. Was only in Seattle a short time but had everything I needed. Great place to hang out and watch the sun go down with a drink. Nam even gave me a new steak cooking technique that worked like a charm!

  • We had a great time in Seattle, and Nam's place was perfect! Great location and that view!! We couldn't have asked for more from Nam. He is the perfect host. He even took us to Queen Anne (that's where Frasier Crane lives!!) with his car to show us great views of Seattle in the evening. We will definetely reccomend Nam to anyone we know. We were very sad to leave so we will go back to Seattle.

  • Nam was the most gracious host; my stay was short but memorable. Nam provided so much good information about things to do and eat locally. And the apartment is great! I can't imagine a place with better views; the room, bed, and bathroom were all just right. I'm so glad that my first trip to Seattle was to such a cool place and person.

  • This was my first experience with airbnb and it couldn't be better. Nam was a great guy and his place was exceptional. It had an incredible view, it was very clean, and tastefully decorated. The location was also nice, with a lot of great places all within walking distance. I highly recommend!

  • You're not going to regret your stay here even for a moment. The place by itself was a huge part of my Seattle experience. Switch off all the lights at night, relax on the couch and listen to some Pink Floyd on his awesome speakers! It's nothing but soulful.

I am a coffee person and this place is walkable from most cafés on Broadway. I also walked up to Pike Place on both days and walking let's you take in so much more of the city.

Nam is one of the most pleasant hosts I've ever met. I reached only around midnight and he was still very nice about it. He shares a guide with you with his recommendations. He is well travelled and I had some very interesting conversations with him.

If you use an iPhone 4, tell him in advance so he can change some wifi settings for you.

I'll stay here again at the blink of an eye if I ever visit again. Highly recommend.

  • Highly recommended!

Nam is a gracious host. The accommodations are as pictured, fantastic views, on clear days we saw the snow-capped Olympic range. The Capitol Hill location is convenient to bus lines and restaurants, and walkable to downtown and, in the other direction, Volunteer Park.

The room is located in the back of the apartment with private en suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The bed is very comfortable. The space is very quiet.

    We enjoyed our visit immensely.

  • My short stay with Nam was wonderful, he was very accommodating and welcoming. The view was absolutely incredible, just as seen in pictures. The location is wonderful, very much somewhere you can walk anywhere from. The room was great and having the bathroom right there was excellent for that extra bit of convenience and privacy. I would highly recommend staying with Nam on a trip to Seattle. Thanks a lot for having me there.

  • My boyfriend and I definitely like Nam's place for the view, we got what the pictures provided and liked how chill he was with us using the kitchen/laundry machine/living-room space. We really only saw Nam around during the evenings when he was back from work because by the time we started our day he'd already be gone. I will caution that the wood flooring does cause sound to reverberate, so just be aware of that if you're not so tolerant to kitchen noises by bring ear plugs. Other than that, it's a pretty neat location, we used the public transportation a lot so the stops near by plus the (website hidden) website was really helpful. OH! And we discovered this awesome hole-in-the-wall restaurant called Kedai Makan, totally recommend giving them a try.

  • Nam is a gracious host, opening his home fully to his guests and sharing in their joy at the AMAZING view—even dimming the lights to get the full experience of Seattle by night. That was one of the high points of my stay. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and private. I felt totally at ease there. Nam offered suggestions for places to eat and drink, and I took advantage of one of them and enjoyed it tremendously. The location is an easy walk to downtown—or a short cab ride. Also accessible by bus. I walked four out of six times (the unusually good weather was a factor in that decision). I would recommend this to anyone, especially to someone visiting Seattle for the first time who would love the stunning view.
