When I read "Sharing rooms", I thought that we were sharing common spaces such living room, kitchen. I assume that there would be some sort of a bedroom with privacy. It turned out that it was big bunk beds. It was bigger than typical bunk beds but I consider it as "Big bunk beds." Tia was sleeping on the top and guest sleeps on the bottom futon bed. It is completely in open space with no walls. You can hear everything in a small studio with bunk beds. I didn't expect to sleep underside of her giant bunk beds that she can hear my snoring. I ended up booking a hotel room nearby rather than sleeping in her studio. It has to be noted in her ad that there is no privacy in her studio.
I have to point out to you that when you arrived you admitted you did not read through and understand my description which clearly describes the living accommodations and my freestanding wooden loft. I invited you to ask me if you had questions before you arrived whic you did not do. At the top I mention you can book the entire space to yourselves in my other listing. That would have been a better fit for you and your female friend expecting to share a bed together. This tells me the decision was made in haste and that you did not read after the first paragraph in my listing. I made the mistake of accepting your booking before making sure you and your friend were comfortable with the limited privacy. Since I am renting this apartment, building walls is out of the question and I show the privacy curtains clearly in the photos. This was your first time using Airbnb and I'm disappointed my space wasn't what you expected. I hope you will inquire first next time before making a booking. Good luck!
We had a great stay at Tia's loft! Lots of light, space, and beautiful art. Definitely recommend it! We were only in town for one night and it was a great place to be--5 minutes to downtown, 5 minutes to Bay View.
Tia is awesome! She let me bring my cat, she accommodated me with an arrival change, was pleasant and kind. Her place is AWESOME. Very artistic!!! I was kind of reluctant about renting a shared space but it was not an issue at all. I like how she created a separate loft bedroom space for herself and she created the curtains for privacy in the lower sleeping area. Plus when she got up in the am, was not a disturbance at all. If you think renting a shared space is not a good option, I encourage you to consider Tia's place.
It was a pleasure to stay with Tia. I stayed for a weekend, while at a conference in Milwaukee. Although I didn't spend much time in the apartment, I was comfortable when I was there. Tia was a treat to chat with and made me feel welcome and I even had some tea and delicious juice!
My husband and I stayed with Tia when we visited Milwaukee for a quick weekend trip. Tia was a friendly host and gave us some great suggestions on how we could spend our time in the city. She was also very accommodating -- made sure that we were comfortable and provided oatmeal and tea for breakfast. The photos and information in the listing are accurate. There were no surprises, and the space was clean.
The apartment is centrally located and the freeway is close by. It took less than 10 minutes to drive anywhere. I enjoyed getting to know Tia and would recommend staying with her in Milwaukee.
good neighborhood, walking distance to bars and restaurants, nice loft with a comfortable Futon. Parking is easy and convenient, just follow the instructions. Tia is very helpful. She is kind and considerate. You can also find art everywhere in her apartment. I recommend this place to all of you.

About the Host, Tia
I am a professional Community-Integrated Artist living and working in Milwaukee, WI. I teach collaborative murals, crafts and bookmaking with all ages using a therapeutic lens. I'm a founding member of Playback Milwaukee Theatre Company. We do improv theatre based on true-life stories people tell from the audience using movement, music, visual art and spoken word. I love meeting and hosting friendly people from around the globe. I also love jogging, biking, hiking, painting, afro-latin dance, animals, playing music, learning languages (Spanish & Arabic) and making crafts. Things I appreciate about life are: traveling, healthy food, talking circles, stillness, dark chocolate, nature, music, and being part of a good community.
My favorite travel destinations have been a 4-day jungle hike to Macchu Picchu (Peru), a two-day stay on the islands of Lake Titicaca (Peru), the Great Pyramid in Giza (Egypt), the giant Sequoia's in Yosemite National Park (California), and hiking at Devil's Lake (Baraboo, Wisconsin).
My travel style is light, organic and intuitive, like walking down a main street and seeing an interesting side street that nobody pays attention to - only to find music, laughter and dancing at the other end.
