Cincinnati is a great place to visit, and we are a great couple to host you! We are travelers ourselves and know and understand what comforts of home mean when you're on the road.
We are conveniently located right off the Interstate 275 in a nice neighborhood. 5 minutes from a mall, 15 mins from downtown Cincinnati, with the Reds and Bengals and Newport Aquarium. 30 minutes from Kings Island and of course you have Lexington, Louisville, Dayton, Indianapolis and Columbus all within a 2 hour drive from here. So road trip it from our house!
This particular posting is for the Mocha Room, which is a quiet, beautiful mocha queen bed with luxury linens. Closet , new 32" flat screen TV with Roku (Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc) and DVD player (and even a VCR if requested, ha ha!) in room, along with mirror chest. Access to family room, kitchen, private bathroom (unless other room is booked). Also, the finished basement room is available to you free of charge as a guest amenity!
I'm a B&B wannabe owner and currently work as a Chef, so I go crazy with turn-down service, mints on your pillows, aromatherapy, breakfast in the morning, and I LOVE special requests. Want a special dinner cooked for you...better than a restaurant? Talk to me!! Or I can cook you full hot brunch in the morning (most mornings) with a gourmet Bloody Mary bar for only $7 extra pp (but BYOB)! We'll always have continental breakfast with either fresh brewed coffee or Keurig pods, tea, pastries and fresh fruit in the morning.
Our home isn't huge, but tasteful and welcoming. Besides your private room, you're welcome to use the living room, kitchen (we don't allow guests to cook, just basic use), as well as the finished basement if it is available (separate couch / tv in basement)! We do not allow smoking in the house and only in select areas in the backyard and side yard, so please be respectful. There will be additional fees for breaking this rule.
We offer free wireless wi-fi, a Roku featuring Netflix-Hulu-Hulu Plus- and dozens of other channels; parking in driveway or on street both always available. We are "small dog" friendly (under 50 lbs.), and we have a sweet dog who is great with kids. We are kid friendly and have 2 kids here every other weekend. Our newly finished basement is an awesome play area for kids (also a sweet little caged bunny "Oscar" in the basement!)! We do have a great yard for the kids as well. Cincinnati is a wonderful family town.
We are also very social people and on the weekends with no kids we like to hit the town, so ask us for recommendations on anything from restaurants (she's a chef, remember?) to hot spots, theater, and attractions.
So come join us and let us pamper you and tell you about our great town!
Notes about Cincinnati:
Come take in a ballgame with the Reds or Bengals, our fabulous zoo, our world traveled aquarium,Freedom Center our many bridges and parks, the Contemporary Arts Center, our new breweries. And if you are truly adventurous, come join us for a Newport Gangster tour, or underground brewery tour, or venture a bit further for the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Its all here in Cincinnati.
Have you ever wanted to know what it was like to stay at the Claridge in London or the Waldorf in New York. Well staying with Patrick and Allison will give you an idea of what that is like. From the welcome when you enter, the roses in your room and the attractive table setting for breakfast, you will feel that you are staying at a five star hotel. Patrick makes breakfast a special event. My three day stay was all I hoped it would be and then some. I hope you will get the chance to stay with this lovely couple.
Allison & Patrick were extremely accommodating with our arrival time and very helpful with insights on where to go, what to do, and the neighborhoods we should look into during our apartment hunt! We will definitely recommend to friends and family to stay with them :) The breakfast and coffee are to die for, especially after a long drive and little sleep
Thank you Allison & Patrick
It is our pleasure to review Allison and Patrick's airbnb! From the first moment, we knew it was going to be a special experience. We were warmly welcomed with a beautiful array of simple, fresh appetizers and a glass of wine. Easy flowing conversation ensued. The room was everything promised and more, with our hosts remembering for us more toiletries than we could ever have thought to bring, let alone forget. There was even a special bouquet of flowers to commemorate our 6 month anniversary (which we planned on celebrating there with Allie as our personal chef!). I needed to finish sewing a Christmas present, so they set up a table for me in the basement so I could get that done. They went over and above to meet our needs. We also liked that they were flexible and did not seem stressed by our stay.
We loved that Allie was a chef! The continental breakfast was always amazing, but it was fun to have the option of the hot breakfast too. And the meal we hired her to prepare for our anniversary was 5 star!
Everyone in this family is welcoming and friendly, and it was a wonderful experience. We'll be making it our home away from home when we come to Cincinnati to visit the grand kids!
We were doing a photoshoot at their property for our bedding company and the hosts were so nice and accommodating for our schedule. The room is very pretty and the furniture is very nice!
We were delighted with our two-night stay! What we hoped for was a comfortable, pleasant room and light breakfast...what we received was extraordinary food, wonderful conversation, and outstanding service.
Allison is an accomplished chef and very knowledgeable foodie! Our Friday night dinner, for example, began with a generous hors d'oeuvres spread--herbed brie, olive-and-charcuterie amuse-bouches, and Allison's homemade bacon jam (truly unique and a MUS- try). At table, we began with a simple but delicious Boston lettuce salad, garnished with dried cranberries, gorgonzola, and a slightly sweet vinaigrette. Aged veal chops, cheesy polenta, and balsamic-dressed roasted veggies followed. Dessert was small and simple, per our request: tiny chocolate raspberry flourless brownies. Allison's Kurig provided bottomless coffee (garnished with organic cream and raw sugar) all weekend.
Throughout our stay on Saturday, we were served almost too much food, all prepared from scratch by Chef Allison. Everything was wonderful, but the goetta from a local butcher shop (breakfast) , perfect pasta salad (lunch), and ahi tuna with coconut rice and peppered pineapple flambé (dinner) really stood out. A special note to say that both Allison's table settings and her culinary presentations would rival those found in any noteworthy restaurant.
Our room was beautifully decorated and stocked with lots of plush extras designed to make our stay special, including artisanal bottled water, mints, chocolates, locally-made gourmet soaps, and plenty of fun bath products. The pillow-top mattress was an unexpected luxury, along with the access to Roku television. We felt completely spoiled!
Allison and Patrick were wonderful, personable hosts, always ready to chat about Cincinnati and anything related to good food, but also attentive to our privacy. They were all about small touches: Allison matched Pandora music downstairs to our meals, for example... (zen for the Asian-Carribean fusion dinner on Saturday, American standards for meat-and-"potatoes" Friday night).
We would recommend a stay here to anyone seeking a relaxing get-away. Foodies, most especially, will not be lost on the incredible value and treasure that were Allison's menus. Truly exceptional. We can't wait to go back!!
What a joy and welcomed surprise to stay with Patrick & Allison. When searching for a place to stay in Cincinnati, I was looking for convenience to an expressway, comfortable accommodations, morning coffee, and wifi. All these were exactly as promised, but what a delightful B & B experience it was! I was greeted by 2 of the most fun & hospitable people I've ever met, as well as a chef's spread of beauty & delectable afternoon treats! I met two of their children who were delightful, and their dog Quincy, is a sweetie. I had private access to a nice, clean bathroom, and waiting in the "Mocha Room" where I stayed was a lovely tray of bath/body products, large welcomed bottle of spring water, and candies! Allison provides the most amazing breakfast! Big bowl of fresh fruit w/one of her signature dressings & sauces! Juices, delicious coffee, cereal, and pastries. She knew I didn't eat dairy, and even had almond milk waiting! Wow! She is a professional chef and the presentation of dining was a refreshing treat in itself!!! I had a friend visiting in Cincinnati that I had come to spend time with. Although our time was short in catching up, for a very well priced fee, Allison prepared us a private meal that literally rivals any I've had in NYC or Chicago @ a 5 star restaurant, without exaggeration. She also opened their family's super comfy den so we could dine and talk with lovely music playing and she served us like queens! Even if you are not planning a trip to Cincinnati, it would be worth coming and staying w/Patrick & Allison, as an airbnb experience, for a few days off, take in the city, and enjoy a BLAST! Lastly, Patrick & Allison have the gift of engaging people where they are, what their interests are, and sharing their home with ease. Don't miss this unique, pleasurable stay @ an affordable price!
We had a wonderful stay with Allison and Patrick. They really went out of their way to make our trip spectacular. They were flexible and beyond accommodated our pet boxer.
In addition to being a perfect hostess Alison made us a knock out french toast casserole for breakfast.
Good people and good food, you can't get that kind of service from a hotel. I would highly recommend staying here.
Allison and Patrick gracious and affable hospitality was beyond admirable.
This adorable couple opened their house to us and went out of their way to make my partner and I feel welcome.
Spending the weekend in A&P's lovely Mocha Room was truly an unforgettable experience. It had everything we ever wanted and more. But the true delight was waking up every morning to Allison's heavenly home-made breakfast. I can't thank them enough and will definitely come back!
We had such a great time being hosted by Allison and Patrick! They made us feel truely welcome after a long drive, greeting us with food and drink on arrival. We felt like we were coming home to friends rather than people we had just met. They showed us a great introduction to Cincinnati and the Airbnb experience! They are such a positive and spunky couple, we really enjoyed the evening we spent at their house and going out with them.
I had a fantastic stay with a fantastic couple of people. The food was great, the company was great, and the sleep was great. (Plus there's a great dog to pet, too.) Highly recommended if you're going through Cincinnati.
