About this listing
Welcome to a comfortable double bedroom in leafy Streatham. The room is light, furnished, clean and has a built in large wardrobe, as well as a desk area. You can have use of my kitchen, living room and patio and I will provide: bedding, towels, hot drinks and bagels!
This split level maisonette flat is a 3 minute walk to Streatham Hill station where you can journey to Central London by overground train (Victoria Station) in less than 20 minutes. There are also Underground train connections close by in Balham for the Northern Line or Brixton for the Victoria Line. My place is very convenient by bus; only 3 minutes walk away is the 159 into the city and a range of others to take you near or far.
The neighborhood is safe, quiet and a five minute walk from the huge and lovely park Tooting Common. There are also many pubs, cafes, shops and cinemas within easy reach, and I'd be thrilled to let you know about local hot spots and markets.
I'm a full time Art teacher, 33 years old, and have been living in London for eight years now, though originally from Milwaukee. I share my place with two very charming cats and my husband Mahmud. I'm looking for a guest who is relaxed, respectful, and looking forward to experiencing London.
Guests will have access to:
*Nearby green spaces
*Laundry facilities- washing machine, but not a dryer
The Neighborhood is very balanced; bustling towards Streatham High Street and peaceful towards Tooting Common Park. There are many restaurants, cinemas, markets, parks and fun to be had nearby and am happy to recommend them to guests.
Ceri was fantastic! She was very accommodating when we booked a last minute reservation and gave us advice about the best spots in London. Her guest bedroom was lovely with a comfortable bed, fresh towels and she even brought us bagels in the morning. If you want to have a fun, laid back stay in London, she is the person to stay with. Would definitely stay again!
Ceri was a great host, very kind and welcoming. The room was large and comfortable, Ceri keeps you well-supplied with bagels, and there's good access to public transit, grocery stores, etc. Highly recommend!
Enjoy your trip!

Cerwidwen was an AMAZING host. I stayed with her for 3 months while pursuing my PhD, and she really made me feel at home. She was very respectful of the day that I needed to be home studying and when I just needed a friend to talk to. Her cats are hilarious, and her husband is quite the chef. The room gets the sunrise every morning, and the bed is a dream to sleep on. The neighbourhood is 10 minutes away from Brixton, Clapham, and Balham.
Having to find accomadation at short notice whilst unexpectedly travelling back from Germany via London Ceridwen welcomed me at extremely short notice and immediately made me feel welcome and at home. Thank you for a wonderful experience I look forward to visiting in the near future.
Ceridwen is an excellent host who makes you feel very welcome. She really does stock up your cupboards with bagels and she is full of information about the local area. The room is spacious and comfortable and it's a great retreat from busy London.

About the Host, Ceridwen
I moved to The Belly of the Beast eight years ago, am an Art Teacher and work with teenagers with Special Needs. I bought my flat four years ago and love living here, sharing with my two cats and my partner is often here, though he also has his own place. I'm tidy and friendly and love meeting people from different places. I enjoy collecting vintage clothes and playing old records, especially 1940s big band and 1950s R&B.
