About this listing
A delightful town house in quiet street 5 minutes walk from the Alhambra and very close to Granada centre in the tranquil barrio of El Realejo.
This is a delightful town house in quiet street 5 minutes walk from the Alhambra and very close to Granada centre. We are in the safe and tranquil barrio of El Realejo.
We are very close to the vibrant areas of Plaza Nueva and Plaza Campo de Principe. In 5 minutes you can walk to the Alhambra Palace or stroll in the Alhambra woods.
The house has a traditional build and is fully modernised. Access is quite steep - so not suitable for those with restricted mobility.
There are two double bedrooms both with bathrooms and a lovely lounge with dining area and a fully equipped kitchen - including basic provisions such as herbs, spices and oils. There is a mid-sized terrace with fabulous views of the city, vega de Granada and mountains beyond.
In addition to the 2 bedrooms (one of the beds is superking size) there is also a double sofabed in the living however, we advertise the space as being for . All towels and linen are supplied.
Granada is an amazing place to base yourself - you can get to the coast near Motril in 45 minutes and the Sierra Nevada - including the ski station - yes skiing! - within half an hour. The house has guidebooks etc to help you plan your trips. It is equipped with most things you need for a trip to the beach - parasols, coolbox etc.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Realejo is a delightful location, very close to the centre yet steeped in history. The Alhambra palace complex and surrounding woods are 5 minutes walk away, and there are many other hidden gems on the doorstep. See for example:
We can advise on local transport, including taxis, buses, trains and access to and from local airports.
Parking: the house is located at a 'dead-end' which makes for a very quiet street, but this creates issues, for some, with parking. The entrance road is very narrow and to get out again you need to back up the hill to turn around and exit. This can be tricky unless you are a confident driver. There is some on street parking but getting a space next to the house is not always guaranteed. There are other parking options quite near the house. If you are concerned about this, please do not hesitate to ask about your options.
Other things to note
You can drive to the house but this is quite tricky PLEASE KINDLY NOTE - there are two streets with the same address in different parts of town.
If you are driving DO NOT RELY ON GPS ..... ask us for further details of your options, we can send you precise instructions of how to get here, advise on parking etc (see also 'getting around' below).
This is a residential street so please respect the neighbourghood.
No smoking except on the roof terrace
Sorry, no pets - this is so that other guests with pet allergies do not suffer
I am hosting on behalf of my good friends Graham and Jo - an English couple that have been living and loving in Spain. They fully renovated this lovely house, however work and family stuff have taken them back to the UK for a while.
I have lived in and worked in Spain for 10 years now. I live very nearby to Calle Cruz De Piedra. I really enjoy hosting for my friends as I love meeting people from other countries and hearing their stories. If you are interested in learning Spanish or improving your English let me know. I can also help you with all want to know about the local area and things to do in Granada and surrounding areas.
