This little one room cabin is the size of a small victorian garden room.
It is quiet and private, a short brick path away from our home. It is furnished simply with an antique brass bed, a dresser and a vintage suitcase record player (choose from our vast collection of vinyl to listen to during your stay!)
It is clean, insulated and cozy with its own little fireplace heater :)
Friends, family and airBnB guests LOVE it! (like a little art installation - it's my favorite place to escape when no one is around :)
There is a beautiful outdoor tub under a willow tree for late night baths under the stars, but you can, of course, also use our full bathroom in the main house.
((An organic egg and pancake breakfast -cooked by me and served on your private patio table by the cabin- is available for an extra $15 for 1 or $20 for 2 of you :)) Gluten free options available!
Although the cabin has had lots of really sweet reviews by the hundreds of wonderful guests we've had these last 2 years, it's important to realize its not for everyone! It's just a tiny room in a garden (like a treehouse on the ground, a secret fort, a surfer shack) that just happens to be insulated and clean and smells good ;)
The bathroom is inside our main house, so you do have to walk outside of the cabin and inside the main hall. The outdoor tub is under a tree, so there might be leaves. This cabin is for those looking for the unique human adventure, a more authentic "Santa Cruzian" exerience. Few are impervious to its magic!
Michelle and her home were such a delightful treat. We felt so cozy in the cabin and loved taking a late night bath beneath the willow tree. Michelle even made us pancakes in the morning! Can't wait to visit again soon.
What a wonderful night in a romantic cabin. When we first arrived Michelle gave us a little tour of Santa Cruz art she has collected over the years. The art continues in the wonderland garden. The bubble bath under the willow tree will not be forgotten for the rest of my days. Memories that will last a life time. Thank you Michelle!!!
I surprised my girlfriend for Valentine's Day and I couldn't have found a better place. It is quiet and cozy, in a good part of town, and Michelle is a great host. Great food, an awesome antique record player, and a great overall experience. Very good price for what you are getting. Thank you Michelle!
Michelle was a wonderful host with an awesome (and unique) home. We stayed in her cabin in the back, which was small but very cute and romantic. She also has a room in her home and a large studio as well. So she can accommodate any budget. In addition, she is a host for a new website called (email hidden)
We joined her for a meal as well, which was phenomenal. She was a wonderful host AND cook. Very memorable experience and would definitely return. Thanks Michelle!
This was my first time using Airbnb, and it was great! Michelle really plays the roll of host well for both her great home and her city. The accommodation is creative, very comfortable and homey. I wish I could have taken more than a night to settle in. Thank you!
A wonderful, utterly unique place to stay - we particularly loved the outdoor bath under the willow tree! Michelle was the perfect host, and it was great to discover her artistic home. The cabin was romantic and a short walk from all the things in Santa Cruz. We'd be happy to stay there again!
We were incredibly pleased with Michelle's lovely backyard cabin. The ambiance of the entire property was dreamy, romantic, and incredibly welcoming. By far the cutest place I've stayed at while travelling. Would absolutely recommend this gem to anyone looking for a quiet resting spot in Santa Cruz. The bathtub was fantastic! Thanks Michelle, we thoroughly enjoyed your home.
Michelle is very sweet and generous and the space is nice. I admire all of the creativity Michelle has put into multiple aspects of her home. I just wish I'd read her warning about the space being cold in the winter (somehow I missed that part)... a good lesson for me to be more thorough in the future.
Michelle's cottage was amazing. Everything is beautiful (the whole house is stunning). The cottage is very private, and the outdoor tub under the willow tree is divine. My husband and I both took a bath under the trees (with sea lions barking in the background) and listened to a Sam Cook record in the cottage at night.
The cottage is walking distance to all the great bars/restaurants in downtown Santa Cruz. I highly recommend this place for your next stay.
Michelle is really sweet. She's welcoming, friendly, and an amazing baker! Everything was tidy and Michelle was totally willing to give suggestions and advice on life in Santa Cruz. I stayed in the cabin for a week and although it was chilly at night, I had lots of privacy. It's a neat little spot and super convenient, especially if you don't have a car. Michelle was a great host!
