Relax atop Afton Mountain while enjoying breathtaking views of the entire Shenandoah Valley. Sip wine on the deck during an amazing sunset, or take in the stunning panorama of flowers and foliage. Cradled by parkway and national forest, and with no neighbors in sight, guests enjoy complete privacy and quiet. You'll feel like you are worlds away from the cares of everyday life while still conveniently located minutes away from Waynesboro, Staunton, and Charlottesville.

The space
Since this is a mountain home, we sometimes experience icy or snowy conditions.
During INCLEMENT WEATHER, such as snow or ice, you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. The mountain is usually 8-10 degrees colder than the valley. We also recommend Travel Insurance during the Winter months. We do not give refunds for weather we cannot control.

Other things to note
Please note: no firearms, open flames, or fireworks. We live in a high risk area for fires. Thank you for your understanding.

We only allow dogs who are outdoor potty trained. Please do not bring your creature if they tend to have accidents in the house (particularly puppies or elderly dogs).

Inclement weather is a possibility. If you are booking during Winter months, please be aware that the mountain roads can get tricky during icy and snowy conditions. We recommend purchasing travel insurance through airbnb if you are concerned about inclement weather.

We do have a 6 person hot tub with incredible views. We do ask that no children under the age of 12 be allowed to use the hot tub.
Also, after using the hottub, please ALWAYS secure the hottub cover with the provided straps. It gets windy on the mountain.

There is a camera outside above the garage/gameroom facing the driveway.

Although most of our years have been spent in the Historic Triangle of Virginia, our kids and grandkids have pulled us out to the Shenandoah Valley. We love to travel and do so often, but Afton Mountain has grabbed our hearts and Mountain Homestead is definitely our new favorite place to hang out together and with friends and family. We hope you find the peaceful beauty of our gardens and the surrounding mountain restful and restorative.
