  • Jenny was friendly and helpful but remember - she doesn't speak english.
The Riad is very quiet. Wifi is ok. Just 10 minutes walk away from the main square.

We were looking for an intimate stay in Marrakesh and we found it!
The Riad Diva is a gem in the beautiful Marrakesh, just outside the main souks.
This small three-floor Moroccan house is gracefully furnished in typical style.
On the ground floor, Jenny - the owner - served us delicious breakfasts with bread, jam, butter, tea, milk, dates, pastries, yogurt and other delicacies; two funny tortoises kept us company, too :-)
She told us we could freely use the kitchen, and in fact we took advantage of her kindness and sunny days to prepare mint tea and drink on the terrace.
On the second floor there are 3 comfortable rooms with private bathroom, wardrobe and air-conditioner, but we left it off as is quite cool inside the building.
The wifi connection is free and the signal is high only on the ground-floor, so we took the chance to rest on the sofa while chatting.
The riad is located in a blind-alley where taxis cannot access, so Jenny booked us the pick-up at the airport and wait for us in the street, then led us personally in the riad. To reach the riad you have to walk for a couple of meters along a narrow passage, but we can say it's a safe area, with the police station just nearby and all neighbours know Jenny. Moreover she left us her mobile number just in case.
We could reach the souk area in a couple of minutes on foot, and Place Jemaa El Fna in 5 minutes; Jenny also suggested us some good restaurants and we really enjoy our holiday.

  • My friend and our daughters and I enjoyed our visit and were made welcome by Jean-Christophe and Jenny. Be warned that the main hostess doesn't speak English so it's a little difficult if you don't speak French or want extended discussions. She is lovely and helpful however. The beds were comfortable, hot water a bit scarce. Breakfast good, and location also. Christy & Kathy

  • His riad is very cozy, absolutely beautiful and fantastic. We stayed there for 4 days and had amazing time there. The owner, Jenny was very kind even though we could not communicate very well because we only speak English and Spanish and she only speaks French. However overall it was very great and I'd recommend anyone to stay here.

  • The Riad was pretty easy to find and the directions were good. It is right in the heart of the Medina, fairly close to all the action in the Souk and Djemaa al Fna. Inside, the place is very nice. The pool shown is rainwater fed and is rather cold, but it's nice to put your feet in. There is a beautiful roof to lounge around on. And there are plenty of chill out areas inside the riad as well.

As for the host, Jean Christophe arranged a taxi from the airport and met us at the Riad on the first day. We did not see him otherwise. The woman who actually manages the Riad does not speak ANY English or Arabic (the two languages we spoke), only French. This was not good for us. We ended up calling Jean Christophe in order to communicate with her, which was rather frustrating.

Jean Christophe was not terribly helpful either. We called to ask him for a restaurant recommendation and he told us that there are restaurants everywhere. When we pushed him for a specific recommendation he couldn't/wouldn't give us one.

Lastly, they charged us a tax of 2.50 Euros per person per night, which was not mentioned anywhere on their AirBnB page. It was stated at the bottom of the confirmation email I received after I booked it, but I would have liked to know about this before making the booking.

Overall the place is very nice and in a good location, the hosts just aren't that helpful when it comes to helping tourists find good places to eat and fun things to do.
