About this listing
A very quiet hamlet, no shops but only itinerant merchants that bring bread, fruit and some dry goods: an amazing and quaint experience. In front of the flat, a small church dating late 19th century, beautiful and romantic with its old belltower
A romantic cosy little flat built from an old barn fully renovated and stylishly furnished in keeping with the true Tuscan tradition, an ideal hideaway for a relaxing holiday.
The stone-made house and its garden are completely fenced. In the garden you can eat, sun-bathe, look at the wonderful view on the castle and the valley, or just sit and talk to the owners about Tuscan traditions.
In the afternoons you can learn Tuscan cookery with Grand-Ma Brunetta and taste traditional specialties or learn Italian with Norma, while in the evenings you can listen to Grand-Pa Silano playing his old accordion, or Volfango playing his cello. Soooo romantic!!
Small animals are allowed. Fenced (website hidden), washing-machine, private kitchen and bathroom, breakfast. Bikes for rent, swimmingpool.
Norma and Volfango bought the house in 2001 and started its renovation, trying to respect its original shape and characteristics. The name Casa al Moro comes from the old mulberry tree standing in the garden, which in the 19th century was the food for silkworms, but now helps you stay cool during hot summers, lying on sunbeds, reading or chatting with friends.
According to the season you can taste local organic cherries, strawberries, salad, tomatoes, all of them coming from the garden of the house. Really delicious and so different from fruit and vegetables coming from supermarkets!!
You can spend your time walking and wandering on the hills, looking for mushrooms and blueberries, or simply watching local birds and wild animals. At night, if you drive up the hill, you might see a fox crossing the road, or a mother wild boar with her babies running after her, or even the royal deer with its enormous horns...
Respect for house and furniture, respect for nature and animals
Thank you Nelly and Nick! It was really nice to meet you and share with you something about Tuscan traditions...we really enjoyed your company...I'll send you the recipes and the pictures of the meal we made and had together...now you know some secrets of traditional Tuscan food :-) so I hope your friends will appreciate your cooking!!
A big hug to all of you!
Norma & Co. ;-)
I stayed with my family at this B&B for a couple of nights. The house is completely furnished and with a very efficient heater. Norma and Wolfgang also provided us with a baby cot for our 6 months old baby. The house has beautiful views (valley, a castle, forest). Althought it is not close to a big city, it is a good option
to go (by car!!) to Firenze and Siena as it is in the middle point. Arezzo is 20 minutes away. Anyway, I would suggest this B&B for relax far from the city and noise.
There is a little disadvantage: internet signal was really weak. It can help you to disconnect a little bit more :))) I think that the young couple is available to solve any problem that can occcur. Another weaker point was the breakfast: I can't say it was bad, but it was pretty scarcy. Of course, we must remember that people in Italy usually don't hace an "English breakfast" And if you want to have a better breakfast you can make yourself because the kitchen is well-equiped.
To sum up: the house is very cosy and confortable. We felt at home at the Heart of Tuscany.
Me, my family, and a couple of friends decided to spend a little time of the summer holiday in beautiful Italy. At first we weren't exactly sure where to stay and then we found a wonderful traditional house in Poggio D’ Acona. When we arrived we were stunned by how beautiful the local passage was. The owners welcomed us warmly and showed us around. You can learn a lot from them for the local traditions and history, The house is fantastic with a large garden and breathtaking views of the nature.
Poggio D’ Acona is placed on an excellent spot in the most beautiful part of Italy - Tuscany.
I will only say that for a week we were able to go to Livorno, Rimini, Pisa, Florence, Siena and Rome from our house. And if you’re too lazy for such long adventures, a very beautiful little town called Arezzo near Poggio D’ Acona is waiting for you. But for me, the best part was the castle, that also have a restaurant in it,which is part of the landscape and you can see it from the house. You can ask the locals for its history, if you’re interested. The last night in Italy, we had dinner in that castle and stayed very delighted of the kitchen, service and prices. I don’t know how to describe the feeling of dinning in a castle.
Great location, very very beautiful, great hosts- very nice hospitable and smiling people. Simply great. How many times have i said ‘great’? It just can’t be enough. We were very pleased and want to go back! Thank you Norma, Wolfgang and all of your family!

About the Host, Norma
I miei motti?

I joined this group with enthousiasm, when a technological friend of mine introduced me to it. Since then I've talked, and sometimes met, people from all over the world. Some of them are now my friends...and I love telling them stories about Italy and Italian traditions and cookery. I often cook some Tuscan specialty for my guest and those who want a special cooking lesson are also welcome!
My Key-words: No distances, no borders, no fences, widespread of knowledge in every field, from enjoying hobbies to Very Important Topics.
I'm waiting for you in my little country paradise!!!
You're welcome wherever you come from!!
